Good morning! We may be a tad warmer today—near 60 if we are lucky! The weekend will be chilly and (hopefully) raining. We can use the moisture!!! Have you seen the fires in Oklahoma? Thankfully they are west of us over 100 miles, but it’s really critical in this area, too.

I did my yoga practice this morning. I guess because I haven’t done it in 10 years, and I’m 10 years older and will never see 70 again… I get quite a workout! Some poses are just totally impossible, and I do the best I can on the rest. I still really enjoy it, and I hope I’m developing better balance and can avoid some of my famous falls.

Pam—I got acquainted with yoga in a wellness class when I worked. We did it two days a week on lunch hours (maybe got in 30 minutes practice at a time). This is the best I’ve done “home alone”. At least I don’t worry what I look like!!! There is something to be said for “in the privacy of your own home”. No one sees me fall off my poses or struggle to keep up. I would love the classes in the woods! As it is now, I can look out my windows and see the pond and sometimes the cows if they are in the pasture across the pond. Does that count? Tell us more about yourself and your performing arts career… inquiring minds want to know! My favorite math class was geometry; I liked to draw the figures and the graphs. I also liked solving the problems.

Tina—so glad your dad got some sleep! It’s too chilly here to get up and out early! Dinner sounds delish!

Becky—my late DH was a bear at his doctor appointments and in the hospital. I felt sorry for the workers and the professionals. I know if someone treated me like that, they would get NO attention or care. I was embarrassed because he was so nasty. I always wondered what he was like at work, and later I heard… much like the hospital, so it was no different from home, either. I’d love to see your dolls, too, but I haven’t tried to master the art of posting photos here, either.

Becky—sounds like you are getting ready to wrap up a high school performance career. She graduates this year? Maybe she will get involved in college. Did you see where the tower fell in Fordland? That’s the PBS station we get here. So scary and thankful more weren’t killed. I’m sure they had hazardous duty pay for climbing those towers!

DD has to wait a few weeks for more tests and see if anything has improved. So… hurry up and wait!

DH is still doing well. He’s at coffee and should be returning any minute. I’ll post here now. Dinner tonight… salad for me; yummy (ha!) broth and jell-o for DH.

Morning all:

Been coldish, rainyish and windyish all week, but heading for beautiful weather into the weekend. I have worried about the baby birds during this time but I still see them in the trees this morning so they have survived. There are two baby Blue Jays added to the mix this week. And while we enjoyed coffee in the "solarium" early this morning we saw 2 baby mocking birds, 2 baby Blue Jays, 1 dove, 1 Robin and 1 hummingbird. And we were laughing because "this is what our lives have come to...watching the birds in the backyard!" I thoroughly enjoy it!

Sure is quiet at the table without MaryZ. But you are all busy with your lives. DH got his security screen door installed on his new workshop yesterday and bars on the window. It has some fancy vine decorations and looks really pretty. So sad we have to take such precautions because of the theft around here.

Had my eye appt on Tuesday. Cataract and retina are stable, but still no answers why I am losing peripheral vision. He suggested going to Stanford's teaching eye institute for a second opinion. Already went to UCSD's eye institute last year and had every test imaginable and they couldn't find a reason either. Meanwhile I will count my blessings that I am in general good health otherwise.

Well, I am off to get my "hairs" cut, as Cindyg always says. It needs it!

Hello everyone,gorgeous day here & the wind has slowed some.

Chickie Your DD is going thru what I went thru last Summer.Sure hope she gets an all clear report .So glad Doyal is doing good.DH is always nice to the Drs & in hospital too.He just has no patience since his pain is so bad.I would hide if he wasnt nice to them.i cant post pictures either.

Linda You Do have the birds to entertain.I love watching birds & all wildlife.Wouldnt it be a great World if everyone was honest.Our DGDs business had a shop lifter yesterday.Her DH got out & took pictures of them & the tag #.They run an Outdoor Store & he saw them shoplifting.When he approached them they ran.But the Mom in the store had the car keys so they couldnt leave.

Pam Im sorry I cant post pictures.The dolls are the simple kind.I make Raggedy Anns ,knitted dolls,rag dolls but these are easy.I used to make all kinds of bears too.When my grands were little.

Jana! That is who I was missing, yesterday. She must be too busy with munchins to join us. Has to be having fun.

Chickie, I have a short lived performing arts career. In college, I did some acting here and there, and was in summer theatre, but my main focus was stage managing, and a little directing. I organized where people were supposed to be and kept track of the blocking of where on the stage they were for what lines. Kept track of how people were doing and who needed extra help. Cracked the whip on people who needed it. Ran the technical aspects of the show. I managed people.

In my first and subsequent jobs out of college, I worked with people with disabilities. I identified strengths and weaknesses, and helped people to work towards thier goals. I took people on vacation the first summer, worked in a group home that year, and then went into day programs and work centers. The position I had the longest involved casemanagement. I managed people. My college experience prepared me well for my profession.

Back to theater. While I worked for the workshop, I got invovled with a little theater group run by one of my co-workers. We did several projects, and I got to act, again. The coworker has since passed away, and I went into nursing. Working at the hospital for ten years, I didn't have a schedule condusive to participating in theater. Now, I work as a nurse in the agency I worked at for 17 years before nursing school and the hospital. It is a huge pay cut, but it is like coming home. I love it. And now, I am back in a job where I could get involved in theater, again, if I wanted. Well, there's my professional history, if not the personal aspects.

And, Chickie, seeing the cows across the pond definately helps. When I was little, I used to ride cows. Or at least, I got on their backs when they were in the stanchions, and sometimes they stood up.

Linda, enjoy your haircut. I am considering a bob. The problem is that it involves months of bad hair trying to grow it out. Not sure I am up for it.

Becca, I don't know where they are now, but my mom made me a raggedy Ann and my brother a raggedy andy, when we were little. We played with them a lot. I am sure your grands love the dolls.

I went to the doctor, today, and showed him how good my sugars have been. Then I went crazy, and got a blizzard for dinner! It was wonderful, but now I have a belly ache. I am at my mom's thinking about making some tiny arrowhead blocks.I can't wait for the next month's block lotto, to see what we will do!
