SUPPER CLUB - Easter Sunday, April 1st

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Apr 01, 2018 3:30 am

Happy Easter!

Yesterday was nice - one last day of wine tasting, with our friends and one last evening campfire. Washington has almost 300 wineries. We didn't hit them all but we gave it a good shot! I think we covered 12 in our 9 days out. It's really odd that two wineries can use the same grapes but their wines taste remarkably different. It's all in the winemaker.

We are headed home this morning. We were looking forward to a beautiful drive over the Cascades, but checked the weather report. SNOW!! No one wants to drag a 30 foot trailer over a snowy, slippery pass, especially us. So we will be taking the long way around, back down to the Columbia, along I-84 to Portland, and north up I-5 for a total of about 350 miles instead of 150 miles. I'd wanted to stop and see Albert, but now we won't be going his direction. And it will take us about 7-8 hours to get home instead of 4. Ratzlefratz!! But glad we have the technology now to check weather before hitting the road!

Supper tonite is an unknown. We have some ham so it might just be ham and eggs with leftover hashbrowns. So, see? We'll be having ham for Easter after all. Blessings abound!

You all have a beautiful day!

Happy Easter from a very sunny, gorgeous, SW. Pa....We have gorgeous blue skies and lots of sunshine, thanks to Jim...(I know he has a hand in it)...

Just wanted to pop in and wish every one a Blessed day...It's been kind of a hectic weekend so far, one full of great news and along with some sad news.....

But, the good news, I'm gonna be a Great Grandma again....Cari and Matt are having their 1st, in October and it's going to be a girl....She gave me a card that she had made, showing those little marshmallow peeps on the outside and then on the inside, said, they were having their own little peep in October...She was giving out the rest of the cards at a dinner last night, so now the secret is out...I don't remember seeing anyone so happy and excited as these 2 are....AND she did tell me, she had told her Mom, Kathy and Kathy did tell Jim when she was sitting with him that last time, so we all know, Jim is smiling and will be watching out for Cari.....

Now, the other news, my DBIL had a serious stroke yesterday morning and isn't responding too well...He is stable and will be moved into a nursing home in the next couple of days to begin some sort of therapy...It's been a rough road for my sister but she more or less expected this...She has a big family, also, so they'll all be around for super support.....

And now, I need to scoot...The bunch will be coming back for lunch/brunch or whatever they want to eat...I did tell them, what they don't eat, they have to take home with them...Everyone has to work tomorrow so they'll need to get on the road this afternoon....Really going to be hard watching them leave....But, with the baby coming, I need to get busy with my crocheting and quilting....So Exciting...........

You all have a great day.....

Happy eating.................

Good morning!

Mary - sorry for the long trip, but snow and pulling a trailer is no fun! We are worried for that same problem for Matt as he will be heading over Donner later this week to visit with Daniel.

Irish - what wonderful news to be a great grandma again. We would always say, that my dad had long talks with my kids before they were born - especially how to get the best of their mom! He passed away when I was 15. I know Jim is having those same talks with you new awaited little one.

Kate and Lila are still keeping us on pins and needles. One of these days she will make her arrival!

Dinner is just the two of us - a pot roast in the crockpot.

Watching General Conference now and will head to the Batt Cave between sessions in a little while.

Enjoy!

Happy Easter ladies.
Safe travels to you, Mary. Seems as though you just left!
Congrats on the new Great Grandbaby Irish! That will be awesome. Has it been awhile for little ones in your family? Sorry about your DBIL. Prayers for him and the family.
So great that little Lila stayed put for a while Miss Jana. You will surely need to get started on that quilt though. I am sure she won't wait very late!
We are having Barbequed Chicken, potatoe casserole, broccoli, and hot rolls with strawberry shortcake for dessert....and plenty of candy and deviled eggs....Hoping DGS Alex gets here, and we eat before he needs to get back before the snow becomes heavy...You all have a great day, and a really nice Easter....Becky

Happy Easter to you all! We had a good day for the most part....I had moments but made it through ok.
Irish, congratulations on the new great grand! I'm so sorry about your DBIL, prayers.
Mary, sounds like a fun trip for you, I bet you're glad to be home again though.
Becca, sounds like you had about the same weather as us today....It was a beautiful day.
I better scoot, need to finish the kitchen and soak in a tub, my feet and legs are not happy with me.
