SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 30th

Good morning!
What a great day we had yesterday! Got our favorite campsite, settled in, and visited our favorite winery. Got our discounts and now we have some good wine on board! Had a nice rest-of-the-afternoon sitting outside, reading. Grilled our burgers and had a campfire. We invited our friends who lost their sheltie to join us and they are! They won't arrive until later today though. Funny, because it's a 3-hr trip at least for them and he works here in Yakima 1 week a month so I'm sure making an extra trip this month doesn't sound fun. But hopefully camping with us does!
Albert is doing well. He e-mails me almost daily. He has two dr appts up in Seattle next Wednesday so we may be going back on the road again!
And good news about Jeff - all brain scans show no new growth! the symptoms he is experiencing - double vision, dizziness, trouble with right arm range of motion - are because they've stopped steroids and because he is still recovering. He was told recovery could take up to 18 months and it's only been 5-1/2 months since his surgery. Plus, he went back to work full time - a stressful job. AND, his FIL, who lives with them, had emergency surgery (gall bladder and sepsis) while Al was still in hospital. So poor Jeff's plate is over the top full of stress. Can't be good for recovering from brain surgery.
JANA - happy baseball season!! I wonder if our Mariners won last night. For once, they had a home game for their opener. And good news for Kate and Lila - 38 weeks!
BECCA - I would think your son would have happy memories of that house as well as sad ones. Perhaps he can concentrate on those! I've never heard the term 'swatch' before except as in a small patch of fabric. however I figured out what you were talking about. My good friends placed the outside cut from a small log on their door jam and made all their marks on that. When they moved, they simply removed it and took it along. Her kids are in their 40's now and she still has that 'swatch'!
IRISH - What is Kathy teaching in Vegas? She is lucky! She lives within an easy drive of Amador County in CA, some of the best wine country in the world! And it sounds like she's aware! ;o) your family is truly on the go. Enjoy all the visiting. Will Nick be home for spring break? I hope Jim sends you some sunshine and WARMTH! I hope that baby eagle is just a slow poke.
Sorry I rattled on so long this morning. Was just in a chatty mood I guess and even though we're on the road, so much seems to be happening. Our friends who are joining us today are the ones where she has seriously restricted her diet. So we told them we will grill chicken, make potato packets on the grill, and toss a salad with a vinagarette dressing. No gluten, eggs, or dairy.
Hope for your supper you get to eat whatever you want!
