SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 19
Good morning,
Today is St. Joseph's Feast day and also the day the swallows return to San Juan Capistrano. I've been to the mission there and it's so beautiful and peaceful. And there's lots of swallows!!
Well, I just typed how well Albert was doing - french toast ordered for breakfast, and now got text from his son, Jeff, that Al's had a setback and had to have an NG reinserted. Guess this puts the french toast - and his discharge - on the back burner. Poor Al.
Jeff and his sister, Carmen, have been taking turns staying at the hospital inn, along with Al's wife, Barb. Jeff is my nephew with the brain tumor and had surgery last Oct. His FIL lives with him. FIL collapsed yesterday and Jeff's wife spent the day in another hospital with her dad. (her mom died in Nov.) Dehydration and electrolyte balance, but scary. He is also diabetic. Meanwhile, back in Colorado, my younger sister's husband was rushed to the hospital for - get this - a sliver! Yes, 2 weeks ago he got a splinter from plywood. Thought he got it out, must have missed a bit, and woke up yesterday with a hand the size of a small cantaloupe and red streaks running up his arm. He had to have surgery and will be in hospital for 2 days. We are wondering just how many shoes there are to drop!
Today June is going to spend time with my SIL, Terry, per Terry's invitation. Terry is here from Las Vegas for a few weeks. I was not invited, so I guess I get some sewing time today!
BECCA - Argghhh!! After all your hard work, and another gully appears in your yard! I hope it's an easy fix! Here, because we get a lot of rain, where gullies tend to appear, we simply fill them with small rock to make a "rock river". The water flows through, does no damage, and the rocks add to the landscaping.
BECKY - there is a reason God gives kids to young people!
CHICKIE - I'm happy to hear you are part Irish! Maybe we're kin! You put out quite a spread yesterday for supper! Your SIL should have been impressed with Doyal's good fortune! Any more new cowlets?
JANA - Your family always impresses me!! What does your nephew do?
Do you know what company your nephew is interviewing for? I hope he gets the job if he wants it. Apartments in Seattle are EXPENSIVE. $3,000 for a studio. Tell him he needs to looks further south - Federal way, Kent, Renton, Seatac, or even Puyallup (where Chickie's DH lived for a while as a kid!). Or even across Puget Sound in Bremerton, Kingston, or Bainbridge Island and take a ferry to Seattle on foot.
I have no idea what supper will be tonite. My sis says she wants to make chili, so we'll see if that happens. If not, then maybe I'll make green chili chicken enchilada casserole. Say that fast!
What's on your menu?

Good morning!
Mary - uggh! I hate when all the shoes start to drop! Lots of prayers! Our ne0hew, Scott, was asked to apply at Amazon. He found a small studio one block from the Amazon campus for 1500 a month. He asked for a 6 digit salary, beginning with a 2. He factored in the differences for costs of living. Figured his salary request was more than the company was willing, but guessed wrong.
Ethan will be here to play after school today. Last week was a parent teacher conference and Ethan has finished all the requirements needed to be passed on to first grade and then some.
Dinner - unknown at this moment. I should go get some groceries, but now that I think about ut, Michael wants tortilla soup.
Heading to sew!
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning! The first “big” storm yesterday afternoon/evening was a bust. Much ado about nothing at all. Then… at 2:30 this morning to about 3:30, we had thunder, lightning, rain and HAIL. All vehicles were outside. I’ll go look at my truck later… DH got up and slept in his recliner, but I was not alone. I had two quaking dogs with me—Odie and Tinker Bell. Poor Tink… she’s just a mess in storms. I don’t know how much rain we got, but there was a lot of sound and fury.
Mary—sorry that Albert had a setback. Wow, your family situation just kind of goes from bad to worse with your nephew’s wife’s family now involved, et al… You must be a family of centipedes with all those shoes dropping! Enjoy your sewing time!!! You’ve earned some non-drama days!!! Hope Albert has a good rebound today and stays good! Best wishes to all!
I laughed at the “rock river”. At my old house in Missouri I did that. My late DH hated it, but I thought it was really pretty especially in spring when the daffodils along the edges were blooming.
No more cowlets, unless they came in the storm. I’ll go out and see later. I checked yesterday when I was walking, and none then…
Jana—I guess your nephew found out “be careful what you ask for”. Is he taking the job? How exciting! I love Mary’s area—all of the PNW! It rivals San Francisco.
Mmmmm tortilla soup sounds good, but I have faux pho, Mongolian chicken and salads for me. I’ll need to thaw a steak or something for DH. It’s hard to get excited about dinner this early.
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 19
Morning everyone.
We are seeing the sun for the first time in a week. We have rained off and on for several weeks now, but it only has added up to an inch. We are sunny today but the rest of the week is rain. We have heard the hail cannons going off and they must work because no hail here. Lots of snow in the mountains too. Yeah for a March miracle.
Sorry so much is happening with your family Mary. It seems to come in waves, doesn't it. Hope it all gets better.
Well, termites are dying as we speak, however ants have now invaded the house. Can't figure out why because so much poison has been put in the ground around the house. They must be under the house. I put out the liquid bait and they are sucking it up like crazy. They will take it back to their nest and hopefully soon stop visiting my kitchen countertops. Between termintes, ants and that dang cat pooping in my roses, there must be a bullseye or arrow pointing to my house!
All else is quiet here for me. Weather is keeping us inside and DH is pacing like a caged lion. I pulled out another jigsaw puzzle and hopefully that will entertain him so I can sew on my stuff. Today is TLQ day (Tender Loving Quilters) and the 6 of us will meet, sew and talk. Gives me a little bit of a respite from DH's tirades about the state of the world. Contractor said he would come and start the foundation for DH's workshop this week, but we haven't heard further from him so we are still waiting.
Irish - continued prayers for healing and feeling like joining the world again. It takes awhile, everyone will be waiting for you.
This Saturday is the Featherweight Maintenance Class I am co-teaching so I have to get ready for that. I am looking forward to doing it. The guild is having an auction fundraiser in April so I have to go through all my sewing stash and supplies and see what I want to contribute. I love having an excuse to look through my stuff!
Dinner for St. Pat's was crockpot corned beef brisket, red potatoes and brussel sprouts. So, so good.
Take care, prayers for all those in need and have a good rest of the week. Happy Spring!!

Hello ladies,
Hope all is well your way. Ours tends to be, at least for now.
Mary, prayers still going your way. Hope it all settles down for you soon. I think you are right about the being younger part. ha..
I did have a request from the youngest grand this morning. He sure would go for a cheeseburger and some fries tonight....so, sounds like a game plan for me! If JR can't eat that, we have plenty for him too. He said he will try to break it into pieces, because he has been craving that too! Some things he does really well with, others, well, he better hope he gets his teeth soon! Ha....
You all have a great day! Becky

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 19
Good afternoon from a vey sunny, slightly cool, SW. Pa. We've had 2 days in a row that have been super sunny and from what I'm hearing, winter returns tomorrow...Am I wrong but isn't Spring supposed to start one of these days?????
Thank you all for saving my seat, might not use it every day but it does feel good when I do.....
Oh Mary, I feel so bad for all the problems, hurts and set backs your family is having...I guess the Good Lord has his reasons but gee whiz, let's have a break...Reading what you write about your family and just going through Jim's passing, what would we do without our families.....There were times when I would have sold, no given, my sister away but without her, I wouldn't have made it.....
Yesterday I visited with the gals (1 guy) at the Memory Care Home and also took them Shamrock sugar cookies...I consider them all part of our family and I need to make sure they're all OK and fill them with sugar, lol....They've been trying to get me to volunteer there but I don't think I can...Think I'll stick with my cats/kittens....After my visit, I stopped at my sisters to drop off some cookies and then had an invitation to dinner from a nephew...I ended up getting home, well after dark but it was a fun time (and good food)....
Today, is laundry and still trying to clean off my dining room table...I finally got a case for Jim's flag and put that on top of the china closet...Still so many little things to take care of but, one day at a time......
For dinner, I'm thinking maybe a hamburger...And planning ahead, with the left over ground meat, tomorrow might be meat loaf, lol....
You all have a great day.............
Happy eating..........
Eagle Update:
The Florida eagles have fledged and are all over the place...The nest closest to me lost one of the eggs...Last week, a raccoon tried to climb into the nest and they think while the mother was chasing the raccoon, might have stepped on the egg and cracked it so the male eagle pushed it out of the nest bowl...But, the remaining 2 should start hatching in a day or so....The other nest has 2 and they should hatch around the 5th of April...Then the fun begins.......

Hello everyone,Quitea busy day here. With a few drops of rain.
Maryz We already had a bed of gravel about a foot from the gulley so we made it a tad wider. We had an unusual rain storm that nite. Its fixed so hope it stays that way. They are predicting snow on Wednesday.
Sure hope Al can bounce back.Surgery usually causes some set backs.Praying for him.And DBIL.When it rains it pours.
Irish You probably are making the right choice by sticking to The fur babies.Toomany memories I would think at the place.
So glad things are settling down some for you.I talked to my DSILtoday That Lost Her DH at Christmas. My DB .She seems to be doing good. But her children are right there for her.And are very attentive to her.
Linda Glad the Termites are leaving.Hope the ants follow too.
Becky Sounds like it’s a normal day at your House.
Chickie The storm we had Satnite must have hit you.Ours was a doozie.
Today was quilting at Church. When I get home DH said Levi called to say if Grandma had any of my Pimento cheese .So when I get Home I make lunch then go to town for cheese.Rush home make the pimento ,then bake ginger cookies. So I’m taking a break.
Levi come to work at the workshop building a Farm House table for a friend. Its really a nice oneMade itout oflumber from his Grandmothers old house.
