Do you need a Scapegoat?
Your day of Atonement


The Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, was perhaps the most important annual holy day for the ancient Jews. The ritual described in Leviticus 16 had several steps. It included the sacrifice of a bull and the dripping of that bull's blood onto the ark of the covenant., It also included the selection of two goats. One was to sacrificed, symbolizing the necessary payment for sin. The other goat, the scapegoat, was set free, symbolizing the sins of the people being carried into the desert.

Because of Christ's sacrifice for our sins, every day is our day of atonement. Every day we accept that His death paid for our sins. Every day our sins are carried into a desert that we will never have to enter.

In light of that reality, how do you approach God in Prayer? Do you sit before God as someone God values and loves? Or do you hang your head as if you still have to earn the acceptance you'ver already been given. Do you rush into His presence, or do you hesitate, hoping that the Bible teaches about His forgiveness is true? Claim today as your atonement!!Go to God with a heart of gratitude and thank Him that nothing stands between you and HIM>

Why would we want to walk around in our daily life with a rock or many rocks, when we have that great gift of the atonement, ready for us, to remove those rocks and lighten our load. We can then be of more service in the Lord's hand.
