Good morning! and happy birthday to President Washington! I should go back to the store for some cherry pie filling. Never thought about it yesterday while I was there. Maybe I could sub in blackberries since my freezer is full of them . . .
Yesterday was filled with walking, chiropractor, coffee with DS & DBIL, Then shopping at Goodwill and grocery. Found some great things at Goodwill - a blue leather purse, a new yellow robe, two nice tops, a brand new purple nightie, a Coach purse for my other sister, A Mickey Mouse shirt for my DD1, a Chinese Happy Cat figurine for DD2, and a white elephant gift for our RV Rally. A very satisfying outing! After that We did our Mexican happy hour/light dinner thing, came home and soon we were all asleep in front of the TV! And we woke up this morning to almost an inch of crusty snow! Scottie was a happy dog bounding out on his pre-breakfast business trip.
Today is a blank slate. No plans. I'll make something fun happen, I'm sure. Make a pie, perhaps!
IRISH - I've been sending you all the positive energy I have. Hugs, my friend!
JANA - I think our weather goes on to you, so you will have our used weather soon - SNOW!
TINA - glad you are all well again! A couple good night's sleep, and you'll be right as rain. What is Frankie clearing? Sagebrush? For a house?
BECKY- I hope your weather improves soon so theres' no more bus crashes!
CHICKIE - Hope your ice is gone soon and the sun is warming your bones! When is the wedding that you did the invitations for? Thank you for doing those! I know they are beautiful! So now, you have A thank you, if not THE thank you! BTW, my sister told me yesterday that she remembers the FGV quilt now and that it's packed away in her RV which is in storage in CO. Whew!
BECCA - you've gotten a lot done in your yard! and sounds like your weather is being kind to you. Hope spring has sprung for you.
Supper - chili dogs? Or perhaps pesto pasta and salad. There is a chance that my nephew (DB Jim's son) and his wife from Idaho, who are in town for a few weeks, might be here, too. So, if that's the case, pasta it is! Salad, asparagus, and garlic bread.
What's the menu looking like at your place?

Good morning! We are still frozen here with more ice in the night. The three calves came for feed this morning, and I was out in my yoga pants and jacket to provide buckets of feed and some alfalfa hay. They were happy little girls when they went on to join the herd. I’m on all dog duty today, and I just hope my truck thaws enough I can scrape the ice off it to go. I don’t think I’ll try walking with the ice and mud if it thaws. (I really need the walk!!!)
Mary—My DD has found some great Coach bags at Salvation Army for next to nothing. I’m always too late. Wish it wasn’t 50 miles away! Sounds like you had a good day! I’m also glad your DS remembered THE quilt!!! I was going to have to help you make her remember… I can’t imagine that she left it in STORAGE!!! That quilt should be out on display!!! I still want to throttle her!!! Thank you for the THANK YOU! I have still heard nothing from DGD. It is what it is. Wedding is June 16. I used a dip pen and iridescent copper ink on cream envelopes. They were a lot of work, but they are beautiful. I’m sorry to sound like I’m bragging, but the ink color and envelopes are really pretty together.
I think this is the end of the ice… I keep telling myself that… Becky, did you get a bunch? Are schools cancelled? The driveway gravel is icy this morning.
Becca—I’d have to use a flame thrower for yard work here to thaw everything. The daffodil shoots are up about ½” and ice covered. My phone showed my last year’s photos on this day. There was a picture of one of my daffodils BLOOMING! We are much later this year.
Irish—thinking of you and sending you loads of love and hugs!
Jana—don’t send me any snow! I’m getting really depressed with no sun!
Linda—hope you have sun and can suck up some for me!!!
Tina—what did I miss about a house???
Yesterday DH had some errands in town, so the Hooligans and I rode with him. They got to make their withdrawal at the bank—lots of happy chomping on the biscuits. Yes, they get to eat in the car. I had DH drop me at Mom’s for a few minutes while he went to the other end of town for his errands, and I took her the placemats. She loved them and thanked me for doing them. They really did look pretty. She used 2.5” squares and pieced the centers then added a small white on cream border. I quilted them and bound them with the white on cream. I used a chrysanthemum print from my stash that I loved for the backings. I know her pastor and her mother will enjoy using them and thinking of Mom every time they sit for a meal.
Last night I made a pizza with whole wheat flour crust. It was really delicious. My side was veggie, DH’s side was pepperoni. We have leftovers of that, and I started thawing DH a steak, so those will be the choices on the table tonight.
Bon appétit!

Good morning

Mary, I'm glad your sis remembered the quilt but I'm with Chickie, it should be out being admired.
Chickie, brrrrrr you need some NM sunshine! You have every right to brag, your invitations sound gorgeous!
Frankie is just clearing 7.5 acres for his 2nd cousin. He bought it here in town to build a storage shop on for his 5th wheel and his construction equipment, it was mostly just for tax write off purposes. But it'll keep Frankie busy for a couple months.
I made pork tenderloin last night, tonight will be bean tostadas.
Irish, sending love, hugs and prayers to you.
Tina

God morning!
I am on Ethan duty for 2 more days. He comes home from school and you would think he never had food! I will have his lunch ready as he walks in the door. His favorite, chicken cheese chimichangas. Then we will head to the Batt Cave. Me, to straighten and Ethan to watch Looney Tunes cartoons. His latest favorite.
I have some really cute Easter fabric to play with. I want to make a mantle scarf and a table runner.
Dinner is out tonight, we have the class we go to.
Mary - good for DS finally remembering the FGV quilt, otherwise, we might need to come and help her! LOL Yes, your used weather shows up here, then I send it along to Tina or Chickie! Thanks for sharing!
Tina - with Frankie retired, it is good for your sanity to keep him busy!
Chickie - I know how lovely those invitations are - the colors are perfect! I second Mary's thank you!
Well, time is fast approaching to go get little boy. It is such a long drive, 2.5 blocks, longer to warm up the car, than the drive!
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon ladies.
Yes, Chickie, my heartfelt thanks for sending the freezing rain our way. Not really. We didn't have an "accident" with the bus, Mary, just mostly slid off the road, but no one injured, thank goodness, but they go from one extreme to the other, with the cancelling. They did cancel today, so maybe they thought they were really pushing it on Tuesday. But the gravel is so slick. Glad they did.
I bet your invitations are so pretty Miriam. I can barely scratch out something, not real good handwriting at all. Gosh, you can come here and care for our dogs. I am rather tired of it!
Glad your sis remembered your quilt Mary. We have some like that around here, although, not my sisters. They both always seem pleased when they get one, and I always see them displayed in their homes. Now whether they do that for my benefit or not, don't know. My MIL is another story.....UGGHHH.
Jana, our kids are always starving when they walk through the door too.
Tonight, kids want chicken strips, so have to find something for JR. He is able to eat a little more variety now, as long as it is soft. Not sure what we will come up with tonight, but he has the standbys in the fridge, so we will see what he wants. He has to go back to the dentist if one of his big shards doesn't come out on its own. They said they may have to pull it out and put in a stitch, so that it has a chance to heal before his plates are ready.
You all have a great day, and Miriam, send sunshine, please....Becky

Well, we are on baby watch - Kate's contractions which they are trying to control are getting severe, so she and Aaron are heading up to the hospital for tests to see if she is in labor or if not. If so, we are about 6 to 7 weeks early.
Gracie is with her other grandma, but might be here tomorrow.
Jana
Update - they sent her home - gave Kate a steriod shot to aid in the baby's lung development. The doctors are hoping to hold off for two or three weeks more. That will make the baby's development at 35 weeks. But everything is all ready to go at any minute, so Kate is to take it very easy, not bed rest, but close to it.
Oh yes, it is snowing again right now!

JANA, the lungs are the last to develop in utero because a baby doesn't need lungs until after birth. A substance called surfactant matures the lungs. There is synthetic surfactant that they can give the babies after birth, though when a pregnancy is stressed, as Kate's has been, Mother Nature bumps up the production of surfactant, so a 32-week Baby should do very well and I predict she won't even need a ventilator even if born now = just some extra "O's", aka, oxygen. Possibly C-pap for a few days. I'll be saying some special baby prayers anyway, but I predict a good outcome here.
