Good morning!

39* and damp this morning, though at the moment, nothing is actually falling out of the sky. But it's early yet. Supposed to be an off and on rainy day.

Thank you for all the good wishes yesterday! We had a nice anniversary. Very low key, but that's how we like it. Bill loved his lasagna and his cookies. I used about 1/2 the dough to make him one big heart-shaped cookie and I decorated it with a bow and chocolate chips spelling out our initials. He loved that, too! And he gave me a bouquet of flowers and opened The Good Wine. We enjoyed our favorite TV shows together snuggled up with our own version of Hooligans and ate cookie pieces for dessert.

I've got my wall-hanging still sitting on my work table in my sewing room. I'm sort of stuck on it. Today, since I have nothing else on my docket, I'm going to either make it happen or put it away. We'll see at the end of business today what happens. It has my sewing room all tied up.

CHICKIE - your calves are real little "cowligans", aren't they! lol! You see what I did there - Hooligans/Cowligans. ha! I crack me up sometimes! Or is it somtimes, I'm just cracked?? One wonders.

BECKY - I'm glad for JR to be doing so well. Being a dental-phobe myself, I thought about him a lot this week. So what's the plan for him? dentures? implants? bridges? nothing?

BECCA - sorry your DH wasn't having a good day. Also sorry your floors aren't having a good winter! They have special mats for dogs that are supposed to trap all the dirt in the mat at the door. Maybe you need one of those - the mat, not a dog! Your beans have been sounding so good to me. Costco sells a rather huge bag of dried pinto beans for about $12. You are tempting me to buy a bag - so much cheaper per ounce than little bags at the regular grocery store. My sister is coming next week. Maybe I'll share half the bag with her. . . .

IRISH - how you doing? Are you respiratory sick or Nausea/vomiting sick or general achyness sick? Just keep those fluids going down even if it's only a teaspoon of tepid water every 15 minutes. Sending hugs! Did your DBIL have his dr appt yet?

TINA - how is your crowd doing?

LINDA - has your DH gotten a start on his 'man cave' yet?

JANA - How's the bathroom coming along?

For supper, we've got lasagna! I just can't seem to make it in anything smaller than a 9x13 pan. It's a lot for just two of us. I think we'll have that tonite and I'll freeze the rest for later.

Can I interest anyone in some lasagna??

Good morning!

The bathroom is coming. Michael needs to put in a couple of electrical boxes and the fan. Then the drywall. Should get this done quickly as the rough wiring has already been done.

We have a class tonight, so dinner is where the car drives into, aka Irish style. The class is a church class and very good.

Enjoy!
Jana

Good morning! 70 here!!! Going for 75, and then… 40 tomorrow. Ugh! It’s so windy, I hope I can stand up for our walk to Choc’s and Maggie’s.

The baby calves have fledged, and boy did they fledge!!! I let them out and over into the pasture. They immediately started kicking up their heels and running around with glee. (Not like they didn’t have room to do that in the “yard”, but this was new territory. They ran to where the herd was around the hay feeders and Annie and Pocket Lint started pushing and playing. I thought they would be back to the gate sometime yesterday, last evening or this morning… No. So sad for me! I walked out and checked on them yesterday afternoon, then checked on them later, but they were not interested in coming back with me. Pocket Lint was at the gate this morning, but I couldn’t feed her as most of the cows were with her. I’ll walk out later and check on all of the babies. I’m glad they have made the transition super easy apparently. When Pocket Lint and Blackie joined the herd, they hung back mostly by themselves for several weeks before they started hanging with them.

You’re right… cowligans! Hopefully now what’s left of my flowers will survive! I may be visiting garden centers to add back some of the bare spots.

We had a quiet day yesterday as well. Our date night consisted of going to the rural water district meeting last night. DH won a $20 cash door prize, so that was nice. The hooligans rode with us and waited in the car for the hour we were gone. Mary, your date night was cute!!!

I can tell you the big mats don’t track it all!!! I sweep up a yard of dirt every day. I will say, it definitely has helped with people tracking! I have a big mat that covers the front door and the doggy door right inside.

Becky—so glad things are going well with JR!

Becca—my floors suffer in winter and summer. I could get rid of dogs and DH, but guess I’ll keep them all and whine!

Irish—fluids are so important! I agree with Mary. You can get super ill if you get dehydrated… hospital! It can really mess with your mind not to mention all your other systems.

Tina—Know you are busy, busy, busy!

Jana—snow? Really? I think we may get some rain, but we hopefully won’t get the “hard” stuff. Enjoy your class and dinner out!

Mary—I make lasagna in 8x8 pans and freeze several before baking. We’ll take some of your leftovers!

Time for brunch here. Dinner tonight… There’s a pork chop left for DH. I’ll add to it and call it good.

Bon appétit!

Good afternoon from a dreary, chilly, soggy, SW. Pa...In fact, I think I just described my mood, lol.....

Such a sad, sad day for the country, once again...Many, many prayers for those injured and also for the families of those who have passed...Also, many prayers that these terrible happenings come to an end...

Mary, glad to hear you had a good anniversary..I'd say, you really treated Bill extra special but from what I've heard, he does deserve it....I don't know what type of flu I have but it's time for it to move along...Mine is mostly respiratory/ach/chills/fever and so tired....I'm just so thankful I'm not nauseous, then I'd really be sick...

really just checking in before I get another cup of tea and hit the couch....I did get a message from "Scout" letting me know his parents haven't taken him to McDonald's and I need to come get him.....
Today is Jim's 87th birthday and I was so looking forward to spending most of the day with him but I guess we'll have to wait until the weekend...I'm sure he'll have lots of company, coming and going but.....

Dinner around here will probably be soup or maybe just toast...

You all have a great day...............

Happy eating...............

Hello everyone, nice day here at 70 .And we had sun most of day.

Irish Glad to hear you are hanging in & that Scout contacted you.lol Sure your Birthday celebration will be just as good in a few days.Lay low & get well.Remember to drink lots.

Maryz How Nice to have a quiet nite at Home.Glad you enjoyed the day.And the lasagna sounds great even if it’s leftover.

Chickie Those cowagians are flying the coup.Good they are happy to join the Herd.Should help you out too.And your garden.

Jana Glad the Bathroom is making progress.Thats a major job.

I got my groceries, shots, picked up the gift certificate. Then made lunch.Been shoveling rock & putting them beside our pavement along drive. What I got done looks so much better. The yard is still too wet to work on.But we agreed on a plan so that’s good.At first DH had a few not so good suggestions but we are settled on a plan.Big relief.lol

I picked up ingredients for nachos so that is the plan. And beans to accompany them.If wanted.I found DH a treat at bakery so he’s happy. Becca

Good afternoon :)
Mary, your anniversary sounds great!
Irish, rest and fluids for you young lady :) I hope you get better quickly. Happy Birthday to Jim.
Chickie, your baby cows are so cute, glad they love their own kind too....you need some you time.
Jana, when is the bathroom complete day planned?
We had a very low key day, we did drive out to the truck stop for supper and then watched a movie on Netflix at home. Frankie and the boys are slowly getting better but Dad sounds worse. He went back to the Dr yesterday and they've prescribed a cough medicine now.
I'm making round steak with brown gravy, buttered potatoes, green beans and maybe jello.
