Good morning!

Yesterday I kind of frittered the day away, not doing much of anything. Felt good! I sat down in front of the TV at 3;30 with my cross-stitch and there I stayed until 10pm and didn't even feel guilty! Today might be more of the same. I have a massage appointment at noon and I try to lay low on massage days.

IRISH - If you did get a dog, a Pomeranian or a Yorkie might be a good choice. They are almost like cats! Love lap sitting. Though they do need to go out now and then . . . I'm sure Jim knew you were there even if he didn't open his eyes much. He could FEEL your presence. More eagles to watch! Hooray!! I'd love the skies to be filled with them!

BECKY - today is your hubby's big day. Maybe he's hoping to be still iced in? Wish him well!

JANA - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! to you and to Sarah! May all your wishes come true!! Glad your toe is improving! That's one wish checked off!

LINDA - To you 50 is chilly and time to come in, and to us, it's warm and time to get out! lol! Perspective is a funny thing! Some things are just worth paying to have done!

CHICKIE - brrrr!!!! I'm not coming to your house!! Sounds like you were the daughter of the hour with your soup choices. And even though I'm me, I loved your analogy of "pounced like a cat on tuna".

TINA - Oh, you did say it was strep at your house, didn't you. I remember it sweeping through my girls and ME once about 30 years ago. It was one of my worst sicks ever! Sure hope you don't come down with it. Your family would fall apart if you were down!

BECCA - congratulations to your DH!! He has provided well! lol!

Last night was going to be a one-pan tortellini/sausage/veggie dish but after eating a lunch of the second halves of our Subways left from the night before we were too full. So that's on the menu for tonite. Easy peasy! Hey! Maybe I'll add peas to that dish!

Are you having peas tonite?

Good morning! We had a fun day out yesterday and had Chinese last evening. I got to see DD and DGS for a couple of minutes and gave them a box of Valentine cookies. Today is Fat Tuesday—let the good times roll! I have Choc and Maggie today (and tonight) as well as Ava today. We will do a walkabout at noon, and who knows—maybe walk this evening to Choc and Maggie’s. The days are getting a little longer, and I’m loving it!

Irish—Tinker Bell is 50# of wannabe lap dog! She does her best to park herself across my legs and move Oddie off his place. There’s lots of competition with the three of them. Boomer usually gives up on me and goes to DH for his cuddling, although he does his best to get on my lap, too. Ava is a little Silkie that looks like a Yorkie. She’s a cutie! She’s too excited to be out of her kennel and play to cuddle me. It’s always “hurry up! I wanna play with the Hooligans!”

We are cloudy and gloomy, but at least the temperatures will be in the 40s!

Mary—I can see Scottie having a blast off leash! Another fire side evening! What fun!!!

Becky—best wishes to your DH! We missed the big ice! It was melting over east yesterday when we were at Pittsburg, and chunks were falling off overhead wires.

Becca—sounds like you are busy, too! Enjoy your dinners!

Rose—sorry the guild program was basic. Hopefully it was beneficial to some new quilters.

Tina—hope everyone gets better at your house!

Dinner here tonight… hummm… It’s Shrove Tuesday, so DH may be requesting pancakes for brunch. I need to go visit the freezer and start from scratch for dinner… it may be something from the Gulf, or might be something from the prairie… All options are on the table right now.

Bon appétit!

Good morning :)
Yesterday was kind of a blur, don't remember very much except going for my haircut and then stopping at Wal-Mart for a few things for us and Dad. I delivered his and visited for a few minutes, he's got his bedroom all put back together except he can't find the spreads that went on the chest, dresser and stereo....but there's still boxes to go through for the front bedroom and kitchen. It's been good for him to putter around in the house while he's not feeling good. I'll take him supper tonight.
We had leftover burritos for supper, no clean up for me, they were in aluminum foil and I just popped them in the oven and then put them on pepper plates, easy.
Mary, I found a chicken soup on Facebook that says to use tortellini, I want to try it. I'm also trying to make the spinach artichoke dip that Apple Bee's has for the 24th when Kevin and Maria will be here.
I already have a window open in the house, hope to open more later....tomorrow and Thursday they say we have a 50% chance of rain, my flowers and I sure hope so!
I'm making taco ring for supper.

Chickie, I walked on you. My Dad's Yorkie is maybe 4.5 pounds and very much a lap dog, she was constantly on Mom's lap. I can't picture her jumping around LOL how old is Ava? I think Dad's is 3-4? She was pretty messed up when Mom passed but she's comforting Dad now and he needs it. I need to get back to walking again....we've been having some beautiful days and I did notice they're getting longer :)

Good afternoon from a very sunny, warmer, looks like spring, SW. Pa...Not quite warm enough for spring but sure does look like it....There are still patches of hidden snow but most of it is long gone.....

BIG NEWS!
We have an egg in the eagle's nest near me...Mom revealed it this morning about 7:30..Now, we wait to see if and when the next one will be here....She usually lays 2 but 1 year, there were 3 and boy was that a fun time watching those 3...Nothing happening on the other nest but I'm sure it will be soon....I have a feeling not much will be getting done in this house.....

Mary, I think you do deserve a quiet day or even 2...And don't be trying to talk me into a dog, no way.....But, if by chance in a insane moment, I would get something tiny but tough enough to take on the cats, lol...But, this gal is too lazy to get a dog.....Terry texted and they will be home tonight but not sure if Scout will want to go home...I have a feeling, they don't take him to McDonald's as much as he'd like, they don't share their Subway or their stew like Grammy does (and we won't mention all those new treats).....

Jana, A very, very Happy Birthday...Hope your day is super good (just don't do too much dancing, remember the foot)...Are you having cake???

Becca, Hope you're having good weather...Would be nice if this would stay and get things dried up so we could be outside, playing in the dirt but I guess that will come soon enough (and then you'll hear me complaining, lol).....

Chickie, you really do know how to rate with your Mom, don't you? I have to stop and think when I see you mention Pittsburg...Even though our's has an "h" at the end, I still think, "Oh my, she's in Pittsburgh"...My "burg" is about 20-25 miles west of me and the only time I even get close is when I drive to the airport...Our Pgh. is a traffic nightmare, no matter which route you take...And of course you have the bridges and heaven forbid you get on the wrong one, you end up in never land....People who work in Pgh, have to be a certain breed....I think Scout probably weighs close to 60 pounds, gorgeous Elkhound and thank goodness isn't a lapdog...He is starting to have those aches and pains and sometimes has a hard time getting into the car and you should see me trying to hoist him up..Hopefully, there's no hidden camera....

Tina, sure hope the "sick germs" have moved on...Nothing like a good case of strep to foul up a week or so....I have a feeling, you're much happier having your Dad live close, good feeling.....I'm in need of a haircut but just hate to take time to do it...I keep clipping and I know the gal is going to "give me that look" when she sees my mess.....

I pretty much had this week planned but funny how a visit to the doctor sure put the stops to that...I went for my regular check up but told her about my head aches and she told me about my red throat and felt I had the start of the flu...She had asked if I had fallen and when I told her about my last tumble, she ordered an MRI..She also ordered that Tamiflu or whatever it is and told me to go home and either hit the couch or go to bed...Thursday is Jim's birthday and I was planning on baking cookies tomorrow and then getting enough of those little pudding cups for everyone for their snack but doc said, no way, doesn't want me visiting Jim until the weekend....I was already to be upset with this doctor until she told me she had 2 cats....
So, here I am, miserable, feeling guilty and wondering how in the heck did I catch this.....One good thing, even with eating all those chips, I have lost a few pounds, yea!

Oh well, for dinner, Scout and I will share the rest of a left over Subway of I might just have soup...If Terry and Theresa get here early enough, they can have the left over stew (if Scout doesn't eat that too)....I remember, years ago, when our Chris was still at home, he was my "left over eater"...He would eat any thing and everything....Now I have Scout!

You all have a great day......

Happy eating..............
