SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Jan 17

Good morning!
Boy, did we sleep hard last night! We got half of our big room ready for painting, which will start today. The ceiling will get one coat of white and the walls will get 2 coats of off-white. I have chiropractor at 10:00 and haircut to follow so it will be about noon when we get started, cuz I'm sure Bill isn't going to do anything without me! I hope we can get this half of the room done by end of Thursday. We take Albert to Seattle for a procedure on Friday and I'm going to give us the weekend off before tackling the second half of the room. I blame IRISH for getting me into the painting mood and BECCA for dangling cupboard cleaning in front of me.
IRISH, I'm so sorry you are facing all this with Jim. I know it breaks your heart. It's awful when he's always been your support system and now he can't 'be there' for you. Even though he is. Our Colorado friend whose wife was lost for 1-1/2 days last November? She did it again over the weekend and was gone for 27 hours - over night in the hills about 8,000 ft elevation. She was found cold and bloody nose and had a stint in the ER, but is home again. As for Bill researching cars for you, if anyone mentions they are even THINKING of buying something, Bill is off researching it! You can't stop him! lol! And here's a hint - when we bought our last three vehicles, he shopped e-Bay and car shopping sights around the country. He found a dealer in NC selling the car we wanted for many thousands less than for here. (different parts of the country have different pricing we learned). We were going to fly back and get the car and have a nice trip home. But he called all the dealers here offering them to beat the NC price. And one did! We saved $7,000 on the car. The pick-up, we flew to Chicago to get and took a week to drive home, paid for restaurants and hotels and STILL saved $8.000. So, shop around. You may find a worth-while deal - and a local dealer willing to match or beat it.
BECCA - I'm only blaming you for the cabinet cleaning. The painting is on IRISH! lol!
CHICKIE - you are SOOO cold!! My feet get chilled when you post your temps! I'm happy you had a day off from dog duty! And even happier that you are working on Valentines!
BECKY - and you are even colder!! Next time you want a 'me day', don't take it on a school holiday! lol!!
JANA - I can smell good smells coming from your kitchen! Our paint is off white, same as before. There is lots of wood in that room covering the foundation which goes up about 4 feet, with a 6 inch wide shelf at that height. We'll paint the top half of the walls. The accent wall will be papered in a red/green/cream plaid with a border of pine cones at the top. The border will run around the entire room at the top. We weren't going to re-paper, but that wall has never been textured and Bill didn't fancy texturing it himself, so we are opting to go with wallpaper again. One neat thing about this room is that all the trim wood, window sills, and that shelf at the top of the paneling was milled by my brother, Albert, in his portable mill from cedar logs he cut himself. I love it!
I haven't heard much from TINA but I expect they are busy getting her dad's house all set up again.
Supper tonight is going to be some kind of pasta. I have spaghetti sauce in the freezer and Bill will like that. Tomorrow - chicken or chops!
Whatcha got cookin' in your kitchen tonite?
