Psalm 128

Everyone would like to receive blessings from the Lord. Even those who do not believe in God or have a personal relationship with Him often invoke the blessings of a "higher being" and seem to acknowledge, especially in times of need, a nonhuman, divine power in the universe. Of course, we know God as a personal God who has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ and has even chosen to live within those who believe on Him. He delights in blessing His people, but there are two contingencies for receiving His blessing; fearing the Lord and walking in His ways. Fear is not synonymous with being afraid of punishment or daily being driven by guilt; it is an awe and reverence that stimulate a love and desire to please and honor our Lord who is exalted over all the earth. He has given thorough instructions regarding His way of life; it is not a legalistic obedience of commandments as much as it is a heart that is inclined to follow His precepts. Three specific blessings are implied for those who fear the Lord and walk in His ways.

When we follow His precepts, laws, we are witnessing to God, our acceptance of His grace.

Izzy Thanks for the devotional.
This verse is very meaningful. If we have a reverence & love God we want to please him & will follow his commandments. One leads to the other.I pray those who don’t believe would trust God & follow him.Becca
