SUPPER CLUB - Dec 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Dec 26, 2017 1:57 am

Good morning!

We still have a little snow from what I can see out there in the dark. I bet it's icy on the roads though with melting snow and freezing fog.. So happy I don't have to go anywhere today.

I've got quite a mess going on in my sewing room. I have Valentine fabrics spread around everywhere and a tray of small pieces all cut. I received some new patterns for Christmas and will be starting a new project today so I have more fabrics pulled for that, too! I felt lost for a few days with no action going on in the sewing room. Now it's overwhelming! lol!

JANA - maybe the puppy should be Holly since she came on Christmas. One year when our kids were little Santa brought a puppy. They named her Dasher. My friend's birthday is today. Her name is 'Carol'. Congrats on your new toilet! all I got was four place settings of new dishes. No toilet for me.

SHIRLEY MAE - sorry you and Rod are both on the DL again. Hope the new year brings you renewed and lasting health! So nice that your son stopped by with dessert!

TINA - Happy to hear your mom is making forward strides! Have the doctors determined yet what happened with her? Was it a stroke"

BECCA - You were in my thoughts all day yesteday.

We have some ham left over and I have some dried navy beans. Seems a no brainer to me! But I still have a pot of chicken soup from Saturday so we need to either eat that or freeze it. I think the ham will have to wait another day.

Who all is eating leftovers tonite?

Well, since I slept for 25 hours to avoid Christmas, I have no leftovers. Several options to make so will see how I feel later.
Haven't been on here for months. Depression can be frustrating. I am working on a couple of baby quilts, then some stuff for friends and for me. That last one is s shocker. I will try to be better about posting, although I do often read. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Darn, darn, darn!! Pressed the wrong button and lost my entire message and it was a good one that I can never do again. You missed one heck of a good message!!! lol oh well, let's start again.

Picture me running, sliding and bumping the leg of the table, but I am in my seat at the table. Life sometimes get in the way and unless I get on here first thing in the morning, you all are here and gone. So I clean up the table, put the dishes in the dishwasher and go out the back door with my head hanging. Lol

Tonight for dinner we are having country ribs with barbeque sauce, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob. I love corn!!!!!

My niece, my nephew, my brother and myself are all on a tracker app. on our phones. Just for fun, but yesterday, it proved to be good to be on the tracker. I checked on my brother to see if he was home so I could call him and it said he was at Doctors Hospital in FL. he was putting a dish away and another dish on the top self fell, hit the counter, broke into 3 pieces and the one with a pointed en hit his right foot. It severed (now this is where my message disappeared so I AM BEING VERY CAREFUL NOW). his artery and after bleeding all over the kitchen and using 4 towels he called 911. So they stitched him up and he is on the mend... what a freak accident. See good thing he was on the tracker with us. He lost his wife a couple of years ago, so we keep a close eye on him.

Well I got that out before the message disappeared...nasty computer ghost that does that just to drive us crazy. Well I am on to finishing the binding on my Valentines table Runner. Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Carole with the e as always

Good morning! I fed the calves in 8-degree wind chill this morning. 8 degrees and no wind is warmer to me than an 8-degree wind chill and 20 degree real temperature! I had on my flannel-lined jeans, fuzzy socks, t shirt, sweater, thermal lined sweatshirt hoodie, barn coat with flannel lining and knit cap. I was ready for coffee when I came back inside! All of the “America’s Heartland” precipitation has gone north or south of us. We’ve been dry, but high humidity to make the cold penetrate all the layers with the wind.

We had 25 here yesterday, if I counted correctly. The lasagna, tortellini alfredo and spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce were a huge hit with everyone. The DDILs were so sweet to do all the dishes and clean up. I put all the clean stuff away today. Still need to do floors, but I’m doing laundry and need to work on my comfort quilt. It’s half quilted and I want to finish and send it on its way asap.

Oh, my! Becca—so sorry to hear you lost another brother on Christmas. Loss for you, gain for them! I think I’ve told you my aunt died on Christmas morning, and it’s always a celebration of her with English crackers. I always think of her when I see them advertised or in a store.

Mary—I’m going to have to go shopping for valentine fabrics. I need to give my sewing room some serious organizing and cleaning, too!

Tina—what great news of your mom!

Jana—our DGD named her puppy Cloe Angel.

Carole—Merry Christmas! Great to see you!!! You never out late me, do you? I haven’t managed to make it to the table in days, but we are eating! Oh your poor brother! What a scare!!! Falls in the house are the worst, and crazy freak ones more so! (Ask me about some of mine…) So glad he was able to get 911 called in time!!!

Rosie—good to see you, too! All hearts truly do come home for Christmas! So sorry to hear about the depression and hope you can find balance with therapy, medication and your friends here! Baby quilts??? Life does bring its share of shocks, doesn’t it. So sorry you avoided Christmas, but I’ve been there in the past as well and know what that can be like. I do hope for better days ahead for you!!! HUGS!!!

Oh, if anyone has a spare prayer, my sister can use one. She was to have a hip replacement on January 8, but it’s now on hold. They have found something in/on her lung that needs a biopsy before they do the hip surgery. Thank you!

Time to change loads of laundry around, then I will hit my sewing room and wait till tomorrow on the floors… It’s easy for me to postpone work!!!

Dinner tonight… leftovers! No way am I cooking!

Bon appétit!
