SUPPER CLUB - THANKSGIVING DAY!
Good morning! Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Are you ready? I think we are. I have some free time this morning, actually, so I think I'll strip the bed and wash our sheets. It will be nice to snuggle into fresh sheets tonite. I think I'll put my Woven Ribbons quilt on the bed, at least for the day. The dog has come to think of our king sized bed as his own and for only 36 pounds, he takes up a LOT of real estate and leaves behind a LOT of hair. So my special quilt may not be our regular bed covering. But it will be pretty for today. I used to shake my head at my mom who always said she'd use the good quilt (that I made her) when the dog died. Now I get it!!
TINA - you ARE a youngster, aren't you! Lucky you! Sounds like you'll have a crowd today. Don't wear yourself out too much! Enjoy the day!
BECCA - you, too! What a day you'll be having! And yes, we've been having a lot of rain, too. Though your DGS lives only about an hour & 15 minutes from us, he's in a wetter area. He'll see more rain, more snow, and more flooding that we will.
JANA - I still am using the Revere Ware I got for wedding gifts back in January of 1971. I've had other pans over the years but I still love the Revere Ware the best. I've picked up more pans in thrift shops since and they are just as good. But hopefully you can salvage yours. Maybe I need to learn how to make tamales. I have a Mexican friend here who makes them and I know she'd come over one day and do it with me.
CHICKIE - you are always so busy that today probably seems like any other day, or maybe even easier as you are going to DS's! Hug all your critters for me! and that includes Mr.D.
IRISH - happy Thanksgiving to you and Jim!!
I think I have everything ready. Just need to set the table and pop my already to go food into the oven when it's time.
Have a really wonderful day, everyone! I know we're all thankful for each other as friends!

And here is why I decided to wait to set the table. One Christmas, we found this beautiful centerpiece taking a nap in our biscuit basket

However, made turkey yesterday it is all ready to be heated up> After church we will be off to daughter and SIL and hour and half away with the dinner. Their twin daughters one month today are not yet home but in the NICU doing well but not just ready to be home on their own quite yet. Trying to make the day still special and then home later in the day
We have a lot to be thnakful for.
Blessings and love to all,

Good morning! Ha, ha, Mary! Love your centerpiece! I'm sure he thought the biscuit basket was a custom made bed for him. They love being the center of everything. Your placemats and napkins are beautiful. Your table and chairs are almost identical to the set I had in my former life. My DD has them now.
Everything is about ready here. Noodles are cooking and dressing is ready to pop in the oven. I'm so glad to be going and not having everyone coming here. Guess I'm getting old and lazy.
I'm taking a break with my coffee. I ran the sweeper a bit ago and got up most of the stray flour and crumbs that Boomer didn't find. There was no turkey tidbits on the floor for sure! No pie crust bits, either. That little guy is fast on the floor morsels! It's nice to have a floor wiper so I don't slip and fall on anything slick. LOL!
Sister in law is driving in...

Good morning!
Happy Thanksgiving! You guys are the best and I am grateful to be able to call you my friends! May each of you and your families be continually blessed!
Mary - you, Chickie and I have the same taste in dining tables - that is my set too! Except, the centerpiece is one of a kind.
The girls are coming later to set the tables. Matt has a "thing" that holiday dinners have to be a sit down affair - this comes from his ditzy aunt in California, that always served dinner on paper plates and you sat where ever. So I have enough tables to seat all my tribe and then some.
We are having my nieces, nephew, and their families over after dinner for desserts. Pecan, pumpkin, apple, lemon creme, banana cream, and lemon merinque pies. Pumpkin rolls and rice krispy treats.
Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving! I love that centerpiece, but would not enjoy the extra hair on the placemats. LOL.
My turkey has a little more time to go. Dinner at 12:30pm.
Hope you all have a great day!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - THANKSGIVING DAY!
This picture is just the greatest. What is the name of this precious one guarding the table? My black and white cat passed Sept. 2015, Fiona was nearly 17 and had kidney disease as did Amalie girl who passed the same year in 2009. Amalie dies in Feb. Her name is pronounced AH-Mollie_. She was all white. So hard to lose a pet, but have my Master Zac with me now. Mu bed is his bed and as soon as I am all settled and nestled in my bed, he jumps on the bed and sleeps on my stomach, or if on my side, to the inside of my knees.
Hope all had a wonderful day as well. Spend it over at daughter and family. She and her husband could be check's and could put that foul mouth chef in his place. I try to be--HA! They are both very quiet and reserved as are my grandsons.
Weather was glorious, in 70's.
Well, it is Nov 25, have your cards all done---HA!
Hugs,
Helen
