Good morning!

Yesterday was awesome! We had 54* and sunshine! We spent some of the day store hopping, getting the last few things for TG dinner, plus a few more items to tuck into Autumn's Christmas package. Then wrapping, packing, and off to the UPS store to mail, too. Her best friend since 9 yrs old wants to learn to quilt and to make a quilt of her kids' baby clothes. So I bought a beginner's book on tee-shirt quilts and mailed that off to her, too. I had so much stuff to mail I had to take my pack-hubby with me!

Today will be a hodge-podge of things - cleaning, sewing, baking, decorating. I got out all my Christmas quilts - I have ten! I had no idea! Not counting wall hangings or table runners/toppers. Or the one on the quilting frame or the one I'm just finishing up in my sewing room. Plus, Tina just posted that her next swap will be Christmas in July. And I can't wait for that! I'm Christmas sick! Always have been! lol! If it has to do with Christmas, I can't resist!

LINDA - oooh, I LOVE your new sun room!! I love everything about it! The furniture, the art, the arrangement, and yes, the FLOOR! From the outside it looks like it's always been part of the house. I can imagine lots of hours enjoyed in that room. Thank you for the pictures! I really enjoyed the 'tour'! Your trip you are planning sounds purrfect! Are you taking the MH or moteling it? Either way, it will be fun! I'be been to Hearst's Castle. About 29 years ago. At that time there were four different tours, but we only opted for one. I think we saw the dining room, pools, a bedroom, and an outdoor guest cottage. you will have to share with us when you get back! Sorry you are having to go through so much dental work, but smart to get it all done while you have insurance. I had a year of 7 crowns and several old fillings replaced. Weren't no fun! I feel for you!

BECCA - those electric seated carts are nice for those with limited mobility, but my mom couldn't get on them and my dad kept crashing them. (you don't want to know about his driving! We finally had to ask him to hand over his license to drive and to shop). So they finally gave in and let me do their shopping for them. Which I never minded. Fortunately they lived only 2 miles from me. Bill's brother is slowly sinking. With his chemo, he tumors are still growing slowly. Doctors tell him there is only one more chemo he can try for his type of cancer and it's a really rough one with even worse side effects than the one he's on now. He thought he might forego it, citing quality of life over quantity. He wants to survive to their 50th anniversary, April 13th. But I doubt he will. Thanks for asking.

JANA - how is the snow this morning? Terry spent the night in Tremonton and plans to travel down I-15 and be in Las Vegas at her DD's house by late today, barring weather woes. I feel so badly for you and Michael at the loss of Perry. This might not be for everyone, but I know when we lost Snickers our hearts were so broken. In fact, after 4-1/2 years we still cry if we think too hard about our boy. But we got 7-wk old Scottie 2 months later and he really filled up that hole in our life. Just sayin', that puppy was like a magical healing salve. And Christmas is coming. . . . And there are kittens that need homes . . . and you have a home that needs kittens.

IRiSH - for someone who wanted a lazy pj day yesterday, you got a lot done! That apple/puff pastry dessert sounded tempting! How do you make it? As for lights, I saw someone who simply put a wad of white lights in container hanging from their porch. It looked cool! Pretty easy decorating. So sorry to hear about Terry's ex-MIL. Puts a somber moment on the holiday. And Stephen gets time off boot camp for Thankgsiving?? He IS still in boot camp, isn't he? At least you will get to see the boys!

TINA - you're on babysitting vacation! How's it going so far?

CHICKIE - I think you are still recovering from your birthday! I think you said you're going to one of Doyal's sons' for TG so no big cooking for you?

Tina's pot of pinto beans that she made the other day sounded so good that I bought some yesterday and will put them in the crockpot with some onions, bacon, & kielbasa. And I'm going to serve them like my mom did - with or over boiled potatoes. With salad on the side. Now I'm getting hungry!

Is the thought of anything in particular making you hungry?

P.S. We just saw on FB that a good friend of ours who lives near Grand Junction, CO, and who has Alzheimers, has wandered off with her dog. This happened before about 2 yrs ago. She is in her mid-70's and last time, it was 4 hours before she was found. At that time her husband got a homing beacon bracelet for her to wear, but either she took it off or it's not working. Search and Rescue have been out through the night looking for her on ATV's. Any extra prayers you may have would be appreciated. Her name is Carol and her dog is Suzee.

Good morning!

Oh, Mary - lots of prayers for your friend and the teams too. It is so hard to find a moving target, but with her dog, maybe he will bark and that would be a great help. Right now, there won't be another kitty. We will see how long I hold out, but training a new kitten and keeping the kitty off the railroad is hard. Cats love to hide in the tunnels and that is not good for the trains!

Dinner - not sure, but there is plenty to choose from

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a cold, windy, dreary, SW. Pa....A good robe and PJ day, for sure.....

Mary, Oh my, hate to hear about your friend Carol...Hopefully, by now, she's been found and is OK...I often think of that happening with Jim, had he still been home...Makes my heart hurt....That little wad of Christmas lights might do the trick...I've often wondered, who gets into the box of lights and messed them up during the summer..But, if I do get out mine, it might be that wad hanging from the banister out front....And, so far, Stephan hasn't started his training...They are waiting for an opening in his line of work, which is engineering...He leaves the beginning of Jan....But, I am glad I'll be able to see the boys....Not sure just what might be happening yet, haven't heard about arrangements since they're bringing her back to Pa....

Jana, I think everyone has to grieve in their own way...And you know darn well, that little kitten would make the trains and tunnels it's main "home"...After years and years, I still sense my Clancy laying in my arms during the night...Even though, fat Baby Girl is on my chest, my Clancy is close by...But, hold on to all those good memories....Love the idea of flannel stuff for Christmas...Make sure you get lots of pictures to enjoy in the future......

Becca,At least you're having sun...I have a feeling, Mr. Sun can't make it over the mountains around here, lol...Right now, we're to get some of those white things flying around, ugh......

I had promised myself, I wasn't going to cry on anyone's shoulder but darn, here I go...This hasn't been a good weekend...With Terry's DMIL passing, we also had a young policeman killed while making a traffic stop...They are still searching for the "person" and they do know who it is, thank goodness...Also found out, Cari's DMIL is loosing her battle with ovarian cancer and is now with hospice care...This woman has been amazing and so up beat and if anyone could win this battle, she would be the one..But, her body is giving out...And, my days with Jim are becoming very hard....I can see him slipping into that deep hole, more and more...He still knows me, wants to hold my hand and always wants a kiss when I leave but, now, he doesn't want to leave his room, doesn't want to talk (which when he did, I just agreed with) and he doesn't want to eat very much....And just last night when I had him lay down, I noticed, he had broken off a tooth, right next to his front teeth...He hadn't complained but then I don't know if he'd know what happened...I will call our dentist but there again, I don't know if I take him, if he'll be able to sit there or just what will happen....I didn't sleep at all last night so I have a feeling, not too much will be getting done today...The fur kids are both snuggled up on the bed catching up on their missed zzzzzs....But, I just need to accept what's happening but it sure is hard....I'm really blessed but darn, these little curve balls kind of throw me off track every once in a while.....Thanks for your shoulders, don't know what I'd do without you...Luv you all!...

You all have a great day.......................

1:30 We just learned that our friend, Carol, has just been found after 24 hours of searching, and taken to the hospital to be checked out. Suzee was found about 30 minutes prior to Carol being found. We have no idea where she was or what shape she was in when found. We (and they!) are so appreciative of your prayers!

IRISH - so many sad and serious things going on in your life right now. And when you're going through your own crisis, it gets overwhelming. We've got a lot of shoulders here and you just cry all you need to. We're a safe outlet. ((((HUGS!!))))
