SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Nov 19th

Good morning!
Yesterday was awesome! We had 54* and sunshine! We spent some of the day store hopping, getting the last few things for TG dinner, plus a few more items to tuck into Autumn's Christmas package. Then wrapping, packing, and off to the UPS store to mail, too. Her best friend since 9 yrs old wants to learn to quilt and to make a quilt of her kids' baby clothes. So I bought a beginner's book on tee-shirt quilts and mailed that off to her, too. I had so much stuff to mail I had to take my pack-hubby with me!
Today will be a hodge-podge of things - cleaning, sewing, baking, decorating. I got out all my Christmas quilts - I have ten! I had no idea! Not counting wall hangings or table runners/toppers. Or the one on the quilting frame or the one I'm just finishing up in my sewing room. Plus, Tina just posted that her next swap will be Christmas in July. And I can't wait for that! I'm Christmas sick! Always have been! lol! If it has to do with Christmas, I can't resist!
LINDA - oooh, I LOVE your new sun room!! I love everything about it! The furniture, the art, the arrangement, and yes, the FLOOR! From the outside it looks like it's always been part of the house. I can imagine lots of hours enjoyed in that room. Thank you for the pictures! I really enjoyed the 'tour'! Your trip you are planning sounds purrfect! Are you taking the MH or moteling it? Either way, it will be fun! I'be been to Hearst's Castle. About 29 years ago. At that time there were four different tours, but we only opted for one. I think we saw the dining room, pools, a bedroom, and an outdoor guest cottage. you will have to share with us when you get back! Sorry you are having to go through so much dental work, but smart to get it all done while you have insurance. I had a year of 7 crowns and several old fillings replaced. Weren't no fun! I feel for you!
BECCA - those electric seated carts are nice for those with limited mobility, but my mom couldn't get on them and my dad kept crashing them. (you don't want to know about his driving! We finally had to ask him to hand over his license to drive and to shop). So they finally gave in and let me do their shopping for them. Which I never minded. Fortunately they lived only 2 miles from me. Bill's brother is slowly sinking. With his chemo, he tumors are still growing slowly. Doctors tell him there is only one more chemo he can try for his type of cancer and it's a really rough one with even worse side effects than the one he's on now. He thought he might forego it, citing quality of life over quantity. He wants to survive to their 50th anniversary, April 13th. But I doubt he will. Thanks for asking.
JANA - how is the snow this morning? Terry spent the night in Tremonton and plans to travel down I-15 and be in Las Vegas at her DD's house by late today, barring weather woes. I feel so badly for you and Michael at the loss of Perry. This might not be for everyone, but I know when we lost Snickers our hearts were so broken. In fact, after 4-1/2 years we still cry if we think too hard about our boy. But we got 7-wk old Scottie 2 months later and he really filled up that hole in our life. Just sayin', that puppy was like a magical healing salve. And Christmas is coming. . . . And there are kittens that need homes . . . and you have a home that needs kittens.
IRiSH - for someone who wanted a lazy pj day yesterday, you got a lot done! That apple/puff pastry dessert sounded tempting! How do you make it? As for lights, I saw someone who simply put a wad of white lights in container hanging from their porch. It looked cool! Pretty easy decorating. So sorry to hear about Terry's ex-MIL. Puts a somber moment on the holiday. And Stephen gets time off boot camp for Thankgsiving?? He IS still in boot camp, isn't he? At least you will get to see the boys!
TINA - you're on babysitting vacation! How's it going so far?
CHICKIE - I think you are still recovering from your birthday! I think you said you're going to one of Doyal's sons' for TG so no big cooking for you?
Tina's pot of pinto beans that she made the other day sounded so good that I bought some yesterday and will put them in the crockpot with some onions, bacon, & kielbasa. And I'm going to serve them like my mom did - with or over boiled potatoes. With salad on the side. Now I'm getting hungry!
Is the thought of anything in particular making you hungry?
