Dec 12 daily devotion

Psalm 119:73-96
Just as God established the earth, so has His Word been established. He is unchanging and can not lie; therefore His ordinances and what He has spoken stand true forever; they are relevant for all generations. I have little respect for dispensational theories of biblical interpretation in which certain truths were only applicable to a specific era. Some interpret portions of the Scripture as if they were outdated and apply only to the biblical context. But God established His truths and precepts to govern and guide life; they always have a contemporary application because they are based on His nature and wisdom for all time. Just as all Scripture is inspired by God, it has also been preserved by Him, and His Spirit illuminates its meaning and enlightens our understanding that we may apply it to our life situation. Our confidence in God's Word enables us to survive and endure trials. We often would be overwhelmed and succumb to despondency and hopelessness if we failed t remember his precepts and delight in His law.

Hugs and prayers

We are so blessed to have the scriptures at our fingertips. On our phones, tablets, computers, and printed in a book, so we can read and study them in our own native, spoken language, in our own homes. Not relying on a church or priest to read them for us and then, try to tell us his interpretation only. God preserved these precious writings so we may seek out Him, to be taught the truths of His doctrine, by the Holy Ghost. To learn of all the doctrine and ordinances that we must do, in order to walk back into His presence, see His face and hear Him speak those beautiful words, "well done, my good and faithful servant".
