SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Nov 25
Good Morning!
Yesterday we went out and got the most beautiful 7-ft noble tree. It's outside in water right now. Today we'll be dragging out all the totes of decorations and take stock of what we have. One or both of our DGS's may stop by this weekend and since they both have their own places now, they may want extra decorations. I'm happy to give up some things to them.
SHIRLEY MAE - we are indeed, family, here on QIAD. Glad you had a nice TG. Sorry Rod's not in the holiday mood. A tree, no matter how small, always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and gets my spirit jump-started.
BECCA - I always feel good when I read about your family! After suc a big day and you're already cleaned up and back to normal!
JANA - that is so cute about Ethan. He is a special little guy, that one! I love anyone who likes to make lists and then derives satisfaction from crossing items off! He is learning how to make a happy, successful life for himself.
Supper tonite I believe will be the last of the ham, diced up into the last of the mashed potatoes and made into patties. (I'm winging it here!). Maybe the last of the gravy over it. The last of the sweet potatoes on the side and cranberry sauce and green beans. I think that will finish off the last of everything! and we'll be moving on to new food tomorrow!
How's it going at your house? Are you plowing through those leftovers?

Hello everyone,Our sun left & we have clouds.
Maryz. Yes I’m one that cleans as soon as. It’s over.Took me part of yesterday Too to finish But it’s done. Now if I can I may decorate. But DH is on couch so we’ll see.He has been bad bec I’m sure two days of visits wore him out.
I. Too love a tree ,villages ,& the othe decorations.Sure your tree will be beautiful.
I have already shared my decorations with the grandchildren. But Sure could do more.lol
Jana I too love Ethan’s list making.I always make list & feel great to be able to cross them off.Hes a winner for sure.
Our DGS was coming but he didn’t get his little girl today so he’s waiting for her to be able to come with him.
The day with our family was a great day even if it did do DH in.To seethem together & they got to run & play outside which was great. If they were all here it would be something to see.And the babies never let out a peep. All of them are so good.So great for the Moms.
We still have ham & roast beef.Ill make some rice to go with them.We Have cranberry sauce. And fruit & 4 desserts so you take your pick. Becca
Oh my I thought I had the only Scrooge.I too have to decorate in stages so it’s a gentle change. And things just appear but most of mine is Old & all has meaning to me.Guess we Women are all alike.lol

Good morning!
Today I will de-decorate the fall and get ready to start the Christmas. Since Scrooge resides here, aka, Michael, I have to be discreet in how I get the decorations out. He is very persnickity that I can't turn on the outside lights until December 1st. As well as break out all my Christmas. So far this year, I have only added two small wooden Santas that I made. Scrooge requires a EIR - environmental impact report, as to where it is displayed and where it is stored, before it comes home to the house. Many times, the new stuff just appears, and I tell him, it has been here before! LOL
Dinner is turkey - sandwiches, I will make mine a panini type and Scrooge, just a plain old standard one.
Oh yes, Michael has a hat that says, Bah humbug, that he wears when we go out. He is just a lovable old Scrooge! My boys play the same way at their homes, but I have snuck in my love of Christmas and they decorate their homes like me! So much fun to watch all of them.
Becca - families are terrific! It takes me a day or so to get caught back up here, my girls all pitch in to help that night.
Mary - I share my decorations with the kids, and buy them things new too. Fresh cut trees are wonderful. Sarah got hers at the farm, with a huge discount and it was still expensive. Some lots here are selling the big trees for 400 to 500 dollars each - outrageous!
Enjoy!
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Nov 25
Good afternoon from an overcast, kind of dreary but not too cold, SW. Pa.....
I thought I'd better check in before you all sent out the rescue party.....
Mary, I agree about the live tree, nothing better but years ago, to stave off that divorce it was time to get the one in the box....But, I made sure it was a good one and lots of people thought it was real..I also bring in clippings from the outside trees so I still get a little of the "real" stuff....
Just thinking, wish we had planted trees in half of this yard, years ago, I could be sitting on pretty street right now, with the price trees are selling for...But, then Jim would have missed all those weekly trips with the lawn mower....
Becca, I thought about you and that big family....You are very blessed...I can imagine it took a lot out of DH but, you being that good nurse, he'll be feeling better soon....
Jana, you're another one who is very blessed...Love to hear your stories and of course all the stories about the little ones....Your Michael sounds so much like Jim...We often called him Gringh...And he was the same way with the new decorations...The only tree he wanted to put up was the little fiber optic thing that you just pulled out of the box and plugged in...Silly guys!
Our Thanksgiving was very good....Mine started on Wed. after I took Jim to the dentist (he did very well)..When we got back, they had saved 2 full turkey dinners for us and we had our own private dining room...On Thursday, we had dinner at Kevin and Cindy's and she loaded me up with leftovers...I then went to Terry's and was out way past my bedtime...The kids normally came here for breakfast but this year the kitchen was closed so we decided to meet at the same place we used to go for Sunday breakfasts...I was surrounded by grandkids and it really was special but I forgot to pull out the camera! Today, everyone is off in their own directions...Today is Stephan and Nick's other grandmother's funeral, family dinner and then they are headed back to N.C. so Nick can get back to school....
Today, I'm staying home and painting...The kids did tell me, they will be here for breakfast on Christmas whether the kitchen is done or not!..Waffles at 10:00, lol...I'm doing the dining room, just because it's, I think, is the hardest...That's where I have the computer and lots of junk that all has to be moved...But, I think I'm doing a good job, haven't stepped in the roller pan, cats haven't gotten paint in their hair (not saying that about me) and so far, no paint running down my arms...This could be a good thing!
Just had my cup of tea so now I'm fortified and ready to move on...By the 3rd room, I'll be ready to get business cards, lol.....
As for dinner, if I eat another piece of turkey, I'll sprout feathers, so I might just settle for a bowl of cereal...
You all have a great day...........
Happy eating............
It was a good Thanksgiving in the Ft. Myers eagle's nest...2 very large white eggs that are being given all the love and special care by 2 adoring eagle parents....Another month or so and the fun really begins......
