Nov 22 daily devotion

Psalm 112

We are assured that the one who fears the Lord and delights in His commandments is blessed. Verse 10 explains that the wicked cannot understand this connection between reverence for the Lord and be blessed; they are vexed by the very concept. They and all their desires will melt away and perish, but the righteous will never be shaken. In fact, the Psalm is a litany of the blessings that are assured to those who fear the Lord.

All of these blessings are what we should desire as a reflection of our character, values, and lifestyle. We don't become this kind of person by trying to follow a list of rules and a pattern of behavior. The Lord is the one who blesses us, pours His life into us, guides us, and gives us strength when we delight in Him and His commandments. We don't have what it takes to remain steadfast in the face of rumors and personal attacks. It is not our natural tendency to be gracious and give to others. We cannot guarantee that our influence will extend to future generations. These blessings are from God. Our responsibility is to fear the Lord, delight in His commandments, and praise Him.

Hugs and prayers,
Izzy

I pray you all have a blessed and thankful Thanksgiving with your families.

You can see in the world today, that the righteous are trying hard to separate themselves from the wicked in this world. They are flocking to areas that are living a lifestyle they desire. In one way that is a blessing, as those who wish to flaunt their wickedness, stand out. The Lord blesses us in so many ways, we just need to remember to say thank you.

Many blessings to you and your families,
Jana
