Daily devotion Nov2

Psalm 99
The Psalms frequently remind us of the appropriate response to the lordship and sovereignty of God. We are to sing songs of praise and exaltation; we are to rejoice and be glad. Here we are told that because the Lord reigns, the people are to tremble. We are grateful that we can have a relationship with a personal God through Jesus Christ; we can actually come into His presence and walk with Him addressing Him as "Abba, Father". We are blessed to know Him as a loving and merciful God, full of compassion, who cares about our every need and desires to bless us. But our sensitivity to His greatness and moral nature is often neglected because of the intimate and personal relationship.

Hugs and prayers

Being very blessed to live here in Utah, looking out from my deck and seeing three of the many temples, that are on the earth today, reminds me of theblessings that are mine. The temples are beacons for all to see and look toward for help, aid and comfort in these troubling times.

Back when we had the oil crisis,in the 70's, we turned off lights to conserve energy. The Oakland Temple is high up on the Oakland hills, overlooking the San Frsncisco Bay and surrounfing area. You can see it for miles, as it is lit beautifully at night. The church did as they were asked to vonserve energy and turned off the lights in the temple. There are two major airports, Oakland and San Francisco that called the church, requesting that the lights be turned back on. The airline pilots used the temple, lit, as a beacon to be able to find tbeir way. It is true in our lives as well, that the temple is a beacon, leading us back to a loving Heavenly Father.
