SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Oct 14th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Oct 14, 2017 3:29 am

Good morning!

not much happening around here this weekend, but I guess there's still much opportunity. Yesterday I fixed backing and got one quilt ready for quilting, but I need to do some cleaning in that room before we can even get to the frame! I've also been working on a Christmas apron in spare moments and trimming swap blocks. But today will be more about cleaning than sewing. :o(

BECCA - prayers for Denise! Do you know what type of procedure she'll be having? There are different ways to deal with stones. I think a chemical imbalance in the urine causes most stones, and what that imbalance is determines the type of stone you get. If you Google it, it will suggest limiting intake of calcium and protein and increase intake of water and citrus. Please let us know how she's doing.

JANA - I suspected Sarah was the type to do her 'homework' Friday night as soon as she gets home, and that her mother (much like MY mother) - always waits until Sunday night! lol! Sure am sorry about that expensive mistake, but I bet you don't make that one again! Hope you're back on the road again!

IRISH - whenever I know I'm going to come back to a dark house, I leave on plenty of lights and the TV or music. I even leave on the garage light. It also gives the appearance of you being at home and it's 'company' for the furry ones. What did you get for supper at Terry's?

LINDA - I'm so sorry the contractor you hired did a sloppy job! I hope you give him a YELP review. Did you discuss with him this problem? If you are having to remove work you paid him to do, and then re-do it yourself, there should be some adjustment in what he is charging you. I can't wait for your room to be finished, though, and "we" can start enjoying it!

VELDA - to read your posts one would think winter is coming!!

Our chicken soup was just what we needed last night. Tonite we're going back to the leftover sweet'n'sour meatballs. I'm thinking of having mashed potatoes with them. Rice goes better, I know, but we're kind of tired of rice at the moment.

What's your idea for supper?

Hello everyone,cloudy here.

UPDATE on Denise. She is out of surgery & it went well.Mark just called. She had to have stent put in bec of inflammation.Said Dr said it was the biggest stone he had ever seen in his career.Said there was no way she could have passed it.She goes back next wk for check up.Thanks for your prayers & concern & support.

Maryz I have no clue what kind they did.Mark has just been texting us the info we get.Ill get more details when I can talk to Denise. They eat Vegan so meat isn’t on their table much. And Inknow she drinks a lot of water..Have no clue why she got them.
I too leave lights on & TV on if we come home in the dark which isn’t very often
I googled last nite & found cute pattern for character dolls so cute they are.

Linda I thought too There surley must be some adjustment to cost due to shoddy work.Sounds like you are doing the project.

Irish Hope your meal was delish at Terry’s.Anytime we don’t cook it’s a treat.lol yes Irish it’s sunny but has cooled some.Feels much better than hi 80s.

Jana Im sure you will never repeat that error again.Hated it for you.

Got in another 21/2 hrs of yard work yesterday.DH said we are to dip in low 30s beginning of wk.So trying to get it all in shape.
Oh my it’s kick back day here so it May be whatever is in frig.Too much yard work this wk is telling on my body.Have a great day to all. Becca

Good afternoon from a sunny, warm, summery like, SW. Pa...But, you know what they say about all good things.................Really might be time to drag out the heavy duds......

We used to have a fellow on the radio and he always come up with something witty and if it was chilly, it was a 1 dog night but as the winter went along and the colder it got, that bed got awfully crowded with a 3 or 4 dog night....

Mary, Now a Christmas apron. what else do you have up your sleeve? The cleaning that was supposed to happen yesterday didn't all happen to today was the day along with laundry...Not sure who comes in and messes this place but who ever better bring a dust rag and vacuum with them the next time.....

Becca, When I hear kidney stones, I cringe...Only ever had it once and although, mine was minor, I thought I was going to die...Sure hope they find the "reason" for Denise's problem...My sister gets them often and I feel so bad for her....Are you having summer weather today? Sure is purrrfect.....

I was just taking a little break and then I'm off to visit with Jim....AND last night's dinner, you are not going to believe what we had.....I guess Terry couldn't come up with anything and called and said, "Take that chili out of the freezer"! So, I threw a salad together, took them a couple of those birthday Snowballs and a couple of muffins and off I went...His wife was nursing a bad tummy but she did have a little chili....And then I made them look at my Ireland pictures and then we put the quilt together...It's a standing joke in this house when I drag out pictures, "OH NO, what are we being punished for this time????" Years ago, on Jim and my 1st trip to Florida, I had just gotten one of those 8mm movie cameras, just picture no sound...Well, I took movies of everything and I mean everything and of course made the kids watch them....Not sure whatever happened to those "great" movies....That would have been something to put in the will, lol....
And the best one of all, when we were pinning the quilt, someone asked if I was going to put another border on it????? Heck no, just the binding, OH! I thought it would have a 3 inch border.....Now this was after I had trimmed most of the extra fabric off the edges and was rolling it up to bring it home.......Don's take me wrong, I really, really do care for this gal bit sometimes, you just wonder.....So far, the quilt is still rolled up in the huge "body" bag in the back seat of my car.....I'm thinking about it!

As for my dinner, I have no chips but I do have a piece of cherry pie my sister sent down....Nothing seems to stir the appetite so far, but we'll see................

You all have a great day.....

Happy eating..............

Good afternoon!

Home from class - Like a doctor is not a good patient, I am not a good student. Seems like, how I was doing the piecing, was not the class method way. BUT, mine was coming out right and working for me. Everyone in the class, including the teacher is right handed. I am a lefty, so I devised a hybrid way - teacher was not pleased with me, but oh well! I will try to learn and insert some of my way - the quilt will get done! I will try to get all the piecing done before class.

Dinner - we have leftovers of soup, taco meat and pasta - no one will go hungry.

Stopped off and got my haircut, now to put up my feet up,
Enjoy,
Jana

Hi :) I'm at the table post my getting ready for bedtime LOL
I watched Mom all day and gave Dad a break, I see why he's exhausted all the time and today was a better day for her so I can't imagine the worse days when he doesn't have any breaks. They are so close to being ready to move, 1-2 days max of finishing getting it ready to move but I guess that'll wait till next weekend because we already had plans to go to our annual Klobase tomorrow.
Mary, you sure get those quilts out fast!
Becca, my kidney stones are half calcium and have potassium, the Dr's said changing my diet wouldn't help, my last one was the size of a pencil eraser, I thought I'd die before I passed that puppy! I should've named it!
Irish, ummm ummm are you considering adding another border?
Jana, your teacher sounds like some of the elementary teachers that didn't know how to teach my cousin because he was left handed. I say if you found a way that works for you then it's a correct way. Our daughter does math backwards from what I do, I'm not sure which one of us is odd man out because once my math professor said he couldn't figure how I did math because I would go about it differently LOL but he was great, said it was theright answer and that's what mattered and it's how my brain clicks ;)
we had leftover soup for supper. Tomorrow will be Klobase, brisket, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, tomatoes, and a slice if bread. Well probably get desserts too and we'll play bingo for 6 hours for prizes ;)
