SUPPER CLUB - Friday, October 13th

Good Morning!
Welcome to my grandson's 24th birthday! how can it be that I have a grandson that old?? Seems like I was just 24! How did he, let alone his mother! get to be such a great age!!
We had a rainy day here yesterday. But I loved it! We went to Tacoma and I got fabric to finish and back two quilts. Then we went downtown to the courthouse so I could figure out jury parking areas, etc. because I received a summons to report later this month. It's a rat's nest of remodeling, construction, new 1-way streets, security booths, restricted parking areas, etc., all around the courthouse and I wanted to figure out where I was to go.
My nephew who had the brain tumor is being released today, though instead of home, they are thinking rehab because he is unstable on his feet. They fear if he goes home he might fall and hit his head. An undesirable situation after brain surgery. He is talking on the phone, walking a bit with a walker, eating real food. Friday the 13th is a good day for our family!
I checked the Secret Santa thread yesterday and have to admit I was shocked to realize how quickly the mailing date is rushing up. I kept thinking this is Christmas stuff and Christmas is 3 months away. But mailing for SS is Nov 20, is only 5-1/2 weeks away. So I got busy in my sewing room through the afternoon.
Annie slept on our bed last night - all night long! No one else did, though. That I know of, anyway. Things are coming long with our new fur-baby.
BECCA - yes, it did feel good to get so much done the other day. I was sorry to poop out before it was finished, but another day or two and it will be done. Hope Denise is feeling better. My LDH#1 was prone to kidney stones and his doctor told him that his stones were composed of calcium and to cut back on milk, which he loved. When my girls were little, their aunt knitted them all the characters in Strawberry Shortcake. they were so cute and the girls loved them.
JANA - oh you poor dear!! Glad you found your templates, but sorry for what happened later. I just was reading about it in yesterday's sew-in. Is there no way to gather up those pieces, tape them back together and copy them? Did Sarah already cut hers up? could you copy her page? Though I picture Sarah someone who does her homework on Friday night! lol! So sorry this happened! But we've all done silly errors.
CHICKIE - I forgot what a big bullet I dodged when we had supper with you on our first visit! Whew!! One Halloween I went as "Spiderella". I ratted my hair until it stood out 8 inches all around my head and then sprayed it stiff. I used a white make-up all over my face and then heavy black around my eyes, purple or black lipstick, and painted a few spiders on my face. I also put some spiders in my hair. My dress was of the Morticia Adams style and I pinned a plastic web to my back. People who saw me several times a week didn't recognise me. Bill was Dracula and again the make-up (and removing his glasses) did the trick. No one knew him either! Do you have dollar stores or thrift shops in your area? Great source of costume ideas.
The Sweet and Sour meatballs were a hit with DH last night. And there's enough for later this weekend. But tonight it's going to be chicken tortellini soup. And I better go get the chicken out of the freezer before I forget!
