Psalm 88

Many times we cry out to God for help ut sense no response. Theis Psalm is a reminder that we need to be perfectly honest and candid with God. We need to tell Him exactly how we feel. He is not interested in beautiful, syrupy platitudes when we are really feeling angry and rejected. We need to tell Him when we are feeling depressed and in despair. We should acknowledge when we feel that He has let us down and that we are hurting. Confess the hopelessness we feel when afflictions overwhelm us, or we go through the pain of a broken relationship or the despair of living with an incurable disease. Acknowledge the anger and grief we feel upon the loss of a loved one or bitterness when the infirmities of old age bring loneliness and make life meaningless. After all. God knows. Our relationship with Him is not enhanced by pretense and hypocritical expressions.

However, we must remember that the final verses and chapters of life have not been written. God does hear our cry. He is the God of our salvation, not only from sin, but He delivers us from suffering, affliction, and despair. We may feel as if we might as well be dead, but God grants us each day for a purpose, and we must trust in Him.

Hugs and Prayers
Izzy

My first thought when I read this was how best friends trust each other enough to tell all their thoughts, emotions, fears, etc.

Thanks Izzy, I appreciate these devotions.

The Lord hears and answer our prayers. When we think we are at our lowest, He has been there and is there for us. This scripture shows us to pray daily, when we arise and when retire each day. It is our chance to spend time, thanking him for our blessings and help He gives. A chance to plead for what we feel we need. He is our Friend indeed. One who always is there, no matter what. Someone who we can always rely and depend on.
