Supper club, wed sept 20

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Sep 20, 2017 2:20 am

Good morning!

Today is day 3 of fun. Yesterday's ride was a long, steep and rocky ride. I spent a lot of my riding time fighting Scottie. He doesn't do rough and struggles to get up in our laps. He is harnessed and secured in his box in the back on a soft insulated mattress made by his mama. But when it gets particularly bumpy, he is NOT happy! Today may be last ride. We rest tomorrow and Friday is predicted snow in mtns. Since we are camped at 5300 feet and go above 11,000' the will be snow. So not sure what we will do. But we start for home on Saturday, driving through Nevada.

Last night my son told us that he and our DDIL learned that her mom has two inoperable brain tumors. On top of a tumor around her pulmonary artery. She is only 72. The parents live in FL and just went thru Irma. DDIL was pretty upset because the only way she learned about it was her dad accidentally butt-dialed her and when she called him back demanded to know how mom was doing. They are very secretive and it frustrates Emily, their only child.

Linda, I bet you were sad to leave Speedy. I'm not sure I could have. I think a shop for your hubby in an excellent idea! Bill spends a lot of time in his. To him it's like my sewing room is to me. His happy place!

Tina, I bet your house and yard are a showplace by now with all your hard work! Hugs to you about your mom. I hope they get moved soon so you can see more of her in the coming weeks and months.

Chickie, we are seeing a lot of cattle high up in open range and lots of calves. Makes me think of your four babies!! And you, of course!

Jana, Ethan is such a smart little guy! Can't wait to hear what he ends up doing with his life! When my son was 4 he entered a coloring contest sponsored by a Mexican restaurant. It was a picture if the restaurants exterior. He colored everything lime green except a small brown blob near the door. When the manager asked him what the brown blob was he answered matter-if-factly that it was the dog poop. He won the contest. Dinner for our family! Lol! He was so proud!

Irish, did you get your furniture arranged to suit?

Becca, you had some busy days!! glad your DS enjoyed our state. It has some of the prettiest scenery we've seen and we've traveled everywhere.

Time to get geared up for the days ride. Can't say about dinner tonight. I never made the chicken Alfredo so perhaps that's what it will be if I have the energy at days end So far, free dinners and breakfast and some lunches have been provided for us but no supper tonight

Good morning :)
Mary, sounds like you and Bill are having a blast, Scotty not so much. I've been trying to play catchup to get my regular stuff done plus the yard work. I did weed eat, use my leaf blower, rake and mow from 5-8 last night. I wasn't sure how the mowing would look since it got dark on me but it looks good in the light of day :) I also got 2 loads of laundry done last night, cooked supper and cleaned the kitchen then took a bath and a pain pill and hurt so bad I didn't get any sleep till after 3am ugh. I've got the last of my other 2 loads of laundry in the dryer now. If it's nice weather when Jazmyne gets here this afternoon I've got a bunch of bulls to plant and she loves helping with that :) then I can water again. Maybe tomorrow evening will be the front yard, I'm trying to free up my weekend in case Mom and Dad come over or in case they don't then I can sew and relax :)
I'm not sure what supper will be yet, maybe burgers on the grill.

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, summerly, SW. Pa...We are having heavenly weather which can just stay until next May.....

Mary, it really does sound like you and Bill are having fun...Poor Scotty, but I can feel his pain, I'd be the same way....Guess I'm not much for bumpy, lol....AND snow, I'd be on my way home... And, no I'm not done with my furniture, still too much stuff but I'm eliminating as I go...I told Terry the other day, (which he didn't want to hear), when I check out, I want them to have everyone take a leprechaun, in my memory...Good way to get rid of them but not soon, lol...

Tina, you have just made me very, very tired and now I might have to take a rest....My heavens girl, take it easy...You know that work is never ending...Be like me, don't do it! I have this theory, when I see the Board of Health visiting the house down the street, then I'll do something about it...And I also heard dust makes good insulation...But, hoping your Mom and Dad do get moved soon...

Becca, Hoping you are having a good day and the weather is super in your neck of the woods....

This week seems to be flying by much, much too quickly..It's been a topsy, turvy week for Jim, he seems real confused...I took him for a ride last Sunday and it might have been too much...I've been to the doc for my BP check, little high and then got results from some of my tests...Boobie squishing and bone density were good but now I have to go and have that nasty prep test, which I'm not happy about...It's only been 2 years but guess they found something..Oh well, my DS said, she and Cindy will be glad to take me and that's another lunch day, lol....
Yesterday, being Sept. 19th brought back a lot of emotional memories..Way back in 1977, our oldest son, Jim was married to his now late wife...On that same date, after the wedding, we had a call from our doc telling us, Chris needed to see a specialist, xrays showed a mass behind his lungs and eventually diagnosed as Hodgkins....But, also on that date just 8 years ago, our oldest DGS, Jim's son was married.. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around all those years....Lots of good has happened and of course there's been bad but we all go on.....

Today is a stay at home day and try to get something accomplished but then after Tina wore me out, that might not happened......

As for dinner, don't think that's going to happen either...Just finished part of a Subway for my lunch so that might take care of both....

You all have a great day.............

Happy eating............

Hello everyone,Tina just wore me out & I was already tired from our round this morning & part of Afternoon. We had to be over at Dr for DH in town over the Mtns.It was very foggy this morning. So not a pleasant trip.Anyway we made it then had to hunt their new office. We had the first Appt so no calling to find them.I finally found it by taking a chance driving by new Drs complex.
Then when we got over the Mtns back to town we had. Stops.so we ate out too.Now I must get on uglies as tomorrow I have to go get my lymph nodes checked out,And get groceries too.

Tina You need a day to put your feet up.Thats a bit much.Do hope Dad & Mom get close so you can see her more.

Jana Your Ethan is a winner. We have some of those in our Grands too.

Maryz Our DGS & his fiancé really enjoyed WA.Our little Clara who's 6 Broke her ankle while they were there at a trampoline Park.Really felt bad for her.
Poor Scottie.I don't like bumps either.

Irish You must have energy to be getting all your furniture and figurines moved.Thats a job.Your telling about Jim made me think of what DH said this morning when we ramped off 4 lane in our home town.He asked where are we? Questions like that really hits home & lets you know how they are.Not a good feeling.
Hope your test comes out ok.

Linda Poor Turtle but sure he'll get a nice new home.Have fun at quilt show.Glad you had a nice trip.

We had lunch at Sunset .He got his BBQ & chocolate pie.I had a burger. No pie.lol Will be lite here tonite. Becca

Good morning, still by a couple of minutes.

It is cold here! Yes, there is snow in the tops of my mountains and the snow level is lowering at little at a time. Michael is out on the tractor mowing the lawns. One or two times more this year, then we will be finished until spring.

I too don't like bumpy roads - more than that I would squawk at dirt roads with my other cars. But now with the Highlander and 4 wheel drive, I can't complain anymore. Michael loves to explore different roads, and most are dirt. Once chasing railroad track in California, we went down a farmers dirt road and the field beside us was being burnt for the next season. Oh the things you learn after being married all these years!

I found a new restuarant we want to try. It serves only banned food and I am really looking forward and hoping it is really good. DH loves banned and chips and I love crab and lobster. If we don't try it, I will try my hand again at Korean beef over rice.

It is picture day at school for Ethan. I got out the hair gel and did his hair - hopefully it stayed in place for the 2 hours he is in school. Sarah had a breakfast meeting, so I took him to school.

I just turned on my fireplace, it just was too cold in the house!

Enjoy!
Jana
