SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 9
Good morning!
Our campfire thing last night was great! What an easy way to entertain! Buy some food trays and gather some chairs! Cleanup was a breeze, too! No parties today. Bill will be moving our fifth-wheel around to the level cement 'launch pad' where he'll attach the extension on the back of our fiver and then load up the Polaris. I'll be doing laundry and last minute whatevers. Sunday is Seahawks game and we leave Monday morning.
IRISH - My son and DIL are in Somerset. He said it's about 1-1/2 hours from Pittsburgh. I told them about the little tuxedo kitty. Forgot to tell them his name was Michael, same as my son! He hinted around that he might not make it to your area to pick up a cat. I hinted around that my FAVORITE child in Texas did it for me two years ago and now I have Foxy . . . . And he sent me a little devil imogee. I think, even if your kitty is still there, he's not going to be coming here. Unless you deliver . . . . We will be home Sept 26th . . .
JANA - I hope nothing came of all the sirens. Doesn't take long for a little spark to get totally out of control. I made a note - really! I put a note on my bulletin board in my sewing room - so I'll remember your JN pattern. Because I'm very interested in it. It makes me wonder though what the inside of her brain looks like to be able to design patterns like that! Gorgeous!
BECCA - Glad you are prepared. Let's pray there will be no need for your preparations. You mentioned meds. We don't take any, but our friend who had the lung transplant HAS to have hers, so they have gradually, over the months, renewed her Rx's a few days early, which give them a few extra pills a month and now they have about a 2 months supply stockpiled which they rotate out routinely to keep them fresh.
Well, tonite is going to be more of last night's fare - leftover croissant sandwiches - turkey, ham, and roast beast - and fresh raw veggies. In fact, we're going to be eating these sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a few days to come! lol!
We have plenty to share if you want to stop by!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 9
Good almost afternoon from a sunny but still chilly, SW. Pa...We have a slight breeze so clothes hanging on the line should dry nicely....I just can't imagine what's happening in Florida...To know, if you leave your home it might be gone when you return, what do you take with you, just unbelievable....Maybe it's best we didn't have that little home down there.....
Mary, you do have the best parties and then leftovers to boot, life is good! Your Ds is near, right up the turnpike from us, probably an hour away....It's too early for the tree changing show but that area is great in the fall for the "Leaf Peepers"..Jim and I always rode up that way and then stopped at Seven Springs for lunch....It sounds like your "favorite" will still be in Texas, what's wrong with these boys....A little kitten, little litter box, couple thousand miles, no problem!
Becca, glad DH will have meds just in case...Why is it so hard for some doctors to work with you and make it easier..When you mentioned yard work, I glanced out the window and just shuttered...There is so much that needs done and I have a feeling, it's going to stay needing done, lol....Little at a time and by the time I'm finished, it will be spring and then we'll start all over...Praying that Irma decides to fizzle and avoids your area.....Stay safe....
Being a nice day, I should be getting a lot done but it's not happening....My doctor had to change my heart med, (old med isn't available, big shortage all over the country) and this new stuff is causing havoc...I knew there might be side affects and vowed I'd stick it out until Monday and hope for the best but makes me feel like crap, lol....But, I did get the sheets on the line and a few cookies baked...And I'm in the midst of cleaning out the entertainment center to make room for the new china cupboard..What a job! I have a shelf of my Irish things, 1 shelf of my Fenton/crystal cats and a huge shelf with a collection of Leprechauns...And that doesn't include my Irish Santa/gentlemen...Now come one folks, no one needs this much stuff! Also have a turn table and a very small assortment of actual records and tapes, so of course last night, I spent time listening to music...Might be easier just to keep the old furniture and forget about the new, lol.....Or maybe I'll just box it all up and give it to the kids for Christmas, lol....
As for dinner, ran out of chips so I guess I might just have to make something....Maybe a scrambler or poached eggs...
You all have a great day.............
Happy eating..................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 9
Early afternoon to you all:
Just returned from the monthly Guild meeting. Since I am helping the chairman with the quilt show, today was when everyone was to start bringing in their quilts. We filled up Pat's car and we even packed them all around me in the passenger seat. Imagine, it is 86 degrees and 60 % humidity and I am surrounded by slippery, hot plastic bags. I peeled my clothes as fast as I could when I got home, after unloading them all at her house. There will be 327 quilts on display and they all start out at Pat's house. She organizes them into piles for the rows of racks. She and her husband started the quilt shows 15 years and designed and built the hanging racks, got a trailer to store everything in and have managed everything about them since. But this is the last time, she is 80 now and it is getting too hard. I told her, "Don't look at me!" I am just a newbie to the Guild, I hardly know anyone. I never like being a Chief, but I am a great Indian (to make the Chief look good). And in the middle of all this Pat's son has been put on Hospice for pancreatic cancer, so she as a lot on her plate.
DH is happily working on a project that will take awhile to accomplish. We bought a cement sitting bench for the backyard and it had a pot stain on the seat. He is going to try to get the stain out, seal it and then we will place it a shady place in the yard. I hear the sander going so that means he is sanding some old garden decorated doors he found. He is going to rebuild the side yard arbor that rotted several years ago. He is so happy when he is busy.
I am going to continue to put on sleeves for the memorial quilts I was asked to help with. Too hot and smokey to be outside. I have to update the quilt database and transfer all the artists and their quilts' names and begin to make the program that is handed out. I also just got the vender list and the bios from our featured artists to add to the program.
Well, you all have fun with today. I am counting my blessings! MaryZ, have fun camping.

Good acternoon!
Just got home from my JN class. Ok, I am not so imtimidated by this quilt. Her method of dividing up the pieces you sew on, from the cutting templates is great. Everything is divided up, cut, labeled and put in a ziplock. The directions are written very well. So I have my homework for the next month. My teacher has made over 40 JN quilts and some of the ones she has made are the covers of the patterns for sale.
Mary - with your skill set, you will be able to do this easily. I can share the tricks from my class, when you do one.
Well, stay safe! My leg is hurting and the Aleve hasn't taken effect yet, so need to figure out how not to hurt!
Enjoy,
Jana
