Good morning!
We are cooler this morning! Hooray!! And we might even get a bit of rain! A few drops fell yesterday evening. 3 months without rain and suddenly, unpredicted, it started to fall as several of us were at friends, sitting outside around their koi pond! lol! It was voted to move inside, but I, for one, was happy to feel those raindrops!
Got the house cleaned yesterday, finished my Old St. Nick quilt top, and worked on my 30's swap blocks. It was a good day! Today is a quick Costco run, a flu shot, and not sure what else until friends stop by tonite for campfire and finger food supper.
Watching coverage of Irma. My DDIL's parents live in FL in a single-wide mobile home. They are in PA at the moment at a family reunion, so they are physically safe but I hope they have a home to come home to! The MIL is terminal and this is an end of life reunion to see all the family one more time. So they have enough going on in their life.
And now Mexico has had a big earthquake. It's like the world is trying to self-destruct.
CHICKIE - you had quite a day yesterday, even without working at the rental! Glad you found some boots you like. You deserve anything your heart desires right now! I've seen tennies with a bit of a heel. In fact, I've seen tennies with a high heel, too! I didn't hurt my back moving the couch! Those little slidey thingies really make it quick and easy. and almost fun!
TINA - Your parents will come to it eventually. In fact, your dad may be more willing that you think, but is afraid to face Mom if he allows you more rein. Your day sounded busy, too! It took me four solid hours to clean our house and the last couple of hours, I found my sidekick, sacked out on the couch under a blanket. So hard to get good help these days.
BECCA - hope your family can get out on a flight. Are they coming for a visit? My neighbor, Lori, that I walk with every morning said that her Step-mom, who lives full-time in her RV and travels around the country, bought a new RV in Florida and is supposed to have flown there yesterday or today to pick it up. I'm anxious to hear how that is going. Are you prepared for the storm, should you get trapped at home for several days?
LINDA - your quilt is AWESOME!! I love it! Love the colors - they are MY colors!
TINA - your parents are going to make your lives miserable even from the grave with their attitude! so sorry they are being so difficult. and you are right - if they refuse to allow it, there is nothing you can do. but one day, they will change their minds. I just fear the event that will make that happen.
JANA - are you already for school? lol! Sounds like you even have your 'backpack'! I'm excited for you to start this JN project. I know you've told us but I've forgotten which pattern it is that you are making. Cindy has had a half-finished JN on her design wall for as long as I've known her and she said, 2 years before that. In purple. I keep forgetting her pattern, too.
IRISH - Have you been back to Pet Smart? Is the little tuxedo still there?? You should get him for me, I'll have my son swing by and pick him up and bring him home! I'm sure they won't mind traveling 3,000 miles in their new car with a new kitty and litter box. >^+^<
supper tonite will be a tray of croissant sandwiches from Costco along with a veggie tray, grapes, and a cookie tray. Yes, I'm being lazy today! I'm not sure what others might bring but even this will be enough to feed us all, I think.
I hope you have a tasty dinner, too!
