What a busy day it was yesterday! We called APS regarding Vicki. Then off to the fair for several hours. Loved seeing the quilts there! Got some good ideas for future projects. Then home by 2pm. APS Crisis team visited Vicki late in the day for 1-1/2 hours. They called us last night with their results. At this time she doesn't meet the criteria for intervention on their part. They say she has nutritious food in the fridge and means to cook with microwave and appliances. She is clean, clothed, and warm. She has acceptable space heaters and a wood stove for heat. They agree she is obviously living in left field, but for now, she's OK in her home. They did say that she showed them paperwork saying she has a social worker checking up on her and we reported that we've never seen a car in the driveway for the past 6 months or so. They are looking into that. So - it's back to business as usual for our neighbor.
BECCA - glad none of the trees got you! Are you getting weather from Irma or simply un-named wind/rain?
LINDA - thanks for the lesson on making raisins! I had no idea when they proclaim them to be "sun-dried" that they are truly SUN-DRIED! I wonder if that's how they do craisins, too. Weather is usually not so warm and dry where they grow cranberries . .
TINA - Not that it's doing us any good, but has anyone called Adult Protective Services or any other agency to visit your parents and evaluate them for services, living arrangement, etc?
JANA - I will keep a lookout for that window cleaner. I sure could use a good one! Praying for your Daniel's safety as he goes to fight fires.
CHICKIE - you have been BUSY, girl!! Comfort quilt, MOB dress, shower gifts, dogs, calves, husband, birthday parties. Keeps you youthful and beautiful!! It hasn't escaped my notice that every single one of those activites are caring for other people.

IRISH - I know you aren't here to read this, but thinking of you anyway!!
I finished my Halloween sewing. A mantle scarf and a small table-runner. That's probably enough for this year. Now I'm moving on to the new 30's swap that Tina posted yesterday. One of my favorite kinds of fabric! Supper is going to be marinated/grilled chicken with rice and salad. Or maybe some zucchini. I just remembered I have half of a zucchini in the fridge.
I hope you find something tasty in your fridge or pantry tonite.
