SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Aug 31st

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Aug 30, 2017 11:52 pm

Good early morning!

I was sleeping so soundly and suddenly we woke up to what sounded like two shotgun shots at 1:05 and another one about 30 seconds later. Then absolute silence. Bill thought it was fireworks but I really don't think so. The last one sounded like pellets hitting a tree - in the woods in front of our house. My guess is someone was shooting at a coyote but you never know . . . But I can't go back to sleep now, so thought I'd swing by the supper table and get it set up early.

LINDA - it was a great pic of you camping! 109*?! Too hot for me! A good thing no one was under your tree when it dropped that branch!

BECCA - such great news about your blood work! you were starting to worry me!!

TINA - I'm so sorry about Holly's dog. They really leave a hole in your heart, don't they. And I'm also sorry about the situation with your sister, but you gotta do what you gotta do to preserve your own sanity.

JANA - Ethan cracks me up! What a little smartie-pants he is!! Sure hope Kate is feeling better as time goes on.

We still have some of the "stewp" from last night. Sort of a cross between stew and veggie beef soup. And Bill picked up a platter of croissant sandwiches at Costco to take to his brother's yesterday and when he came home, his SIL sent the leftovers with him. So we have those to put with the soup. So that's our menu plan to tonite.

Good morning :)
Mary, I hope you got to go back to sleep. Your supper sounds yummy and comforting :)

I'm having comforting food too tonight. I felt I needed some comfort from my Aunt so I got her Italian Beef recipe out. It's hand written from her to me, I cherish it, wish they had a phone in heaven for me to give her a call. I'm going to look and see if I can find a recipe for Italian rolls and if I have everything to make them then that's what I'll do. We'll also have fresh corn on the cob.

Good morning!

It is still morning around here for a few more minutes! LOL

Posted all the bookkeeping I needed to do for Michael - it is getting the budget all in order for the next month. The kids always hide when Dad is doing the budget! LOL Me too!

I am in the Batt Cave and sewing on my tote bag now that my chores are done.

Sarah called after she dropped off Ethan at his first day. Before they left for school, he panicked about the supplies he needed for school. Sarah told him to go and get his backpack and look inside. Wow, he said, as he saw the crayons, pencils and paper that she had already for him. He was a happy little guy. Then when they got to the school, he just turned and asked her where he was supposed to go - the playground - no fuss, no tears, just a happy little boy running off. Sarah looked and saw all the other mothers consoling each other, crying at leaving their children off at kindergarten. Sarah just smiled and got back in the truck, smiling at how independent our Ethan is!

Dinner - the staple after I go grocery shopping - the ingredients know to jump in the basket! Tortilla soup.

Enjoy!
Jana
