Good Morning!

We are cooler here and I am loving it! My skin was getting so dry! We even had a tiny bit of rain - not sure if it was enough to actually measure, but we got to turn on our windshield wipers for a little bit!

Yesterday I finished my purple/gold blocks (two sets) and will mail them off this morning. My son has his Garden Medallion (I posted a photo), and I'm half done with DD#1's Halloween placemats. Then we sat and watched our Seahawks earn their first win of the pre-season - 48-17. A GOOD day!!!

Today - walk, pick berries, make jam, chiropractor, post office, laundry, finish place-mats, and clean sewing room. Sounds like a lot but it's not really. Any extra time will be spent on houses uglies, because this house is getting UGLY!

JANA - we're ready for your 'new and improved 'Niners'! Bring it on!

TINA - I can't believe Jaz is in 5th grade! Wasn't she just having her 4th birthday party? How is the new baby? How far away does he live from you?

BECCA - you and I are on the same soup page. I also love baked potato and broccoli cheese. And another of my faves is navy bean. Maybe because our birthdays are so close together . . .

IRiSH- I would have turned around in that traffic, too, if we could have gotten off the freeway! But our exit was blocked so we had to bypass it. After another hour we finally were able to get off and take an alternate route. What a mess!! Looks like your trip plans are coming together! Do you have a ring leader or are you just all 'winging it' together? When we went to Europe in 2003 (having never been) we went with Warren & Lois and family. they'd all been many times so all we had to do was entertain the parents and the kids (close to us in age) took care of all planning. It worked great! And I have to say I admire your fortitude with the kitties! Are you sure you haven't accidentally found any little fluffies in your purse when you got home??

CHICKIE - I think you are suffering from empty pen syndrome! lol!! Just as long as Doyal remembers that those cuties are PETS who just happen to live with his herd!

Tonite we're meeting friends (Gus & Claudia) for happy hour at our favorite Mexican restaurant. We do this about every 3-4 weeks. We usually have the special of the day (food wise) and a happy hour margarita and catch up on all our doings. I'd forgotten about our date until I started to rummage in the freezer a little bit ago looking for supper makin's. :o)

What's steaming up your kitchen windows tonite?

Good afternoon from warm but overcast, SW. Pa...Just the other day our local "weather person" guaranteed, sunny skies and no rain for the next 7 days...Not sure when those 7 days are to begin, lol....

Mary, forget a night out with friends and drinks???? See, you have too much rolling around in that head of your's, get those priorities in order, lol....I think Kathy will be our "tour guide" and if not her, then Cari...If it were left to my sister or me, we might end up in China and heaven forbid, either of us should drive...But, Kathy has planned so many trips in our "dancing" days and then after, this one will be great, I have no doubt, as long as she and Tim remember to pick us up at the airport....
So far so good, no extra fur babies in my purse, in fact, I've decided to leave the purse in the car just to be safe....We had a new one last night and I know you would have snatched him up in a minute...Little tuxedo and is absolutely gorgeous and so darn cuddly...Now, that's when my "strong" really had to come in play..I'll be very surprised if he's still there when I go back on Thursday...I also had a family interested in our long haired orange tabby named Fawn....
And I did remember to turn on the game, at least the 1st half....Way to Go!

Becca, I'm sitting here drooling over your goodies...Once again, I missed the corn but I am so determined, I might have to go to the farm instead of stopping at the road side stand....Just this morning when I was checking my tomatoes, I noticed, leaves and a few tomatoes had been nibbled on one of my best plant...Well, I found the culprit, the biggest, fattest tomato worm I had ever seen...He is now residing in a plastic bag and not sure how to get rid of him, lol....Hadn't seen one of them for years, in fact, since I lived at home and one of my jobs was to find those dreaded creatures, yuk......But, enough of that.....Sure hope your day is good...Happy to hear your DH had a good visit with friends......

Today is my stay at home day and I even told Terry, I might not even answer the phone...He texted to make sure I'd be home and is stopping on his way home from work..He told me last week, he might have to put his fur baby, Scout, down and in a way, I've dreaded hearing from him...Terry might be 52 years old but I sure hate to see him hurting, after all he is my baby......
But, I'm thinking of finishing up in the basement or make an attempt to finish...
Yesterday's visit with Jim was special...You know that saying about absence??? Well, I'm really believing it...We really, really do enjoy our time together but I still wish I could bring him home....One day at a time......

As for my dinner, I'm going to put some potatoes in the oven just in case Terry decides to stay and eat...Not sure what else but I'm sure I can find something in the freezer to go with....Should bake something but would you believe, I ran out of flour????(I'm the one who should be on those memory pills instead of Jim).....

You all have a great day......

Happy eating.............

Late morning to everyone:

I have been deep cleaning my house (the visiting areas) for my quilting group this afternoon. It needed it after all the junk DH dragged home last month. I had not been able to do floors or dust in the family room for a month. We are right next to an orchard which is tilled frequently. When I sat on the couch I could look under the credenza sideboard table and see all the dirt and dust bunnies, but I couldn't reach them. Drove me crazy!

The yard sale was so-so. DH throught the bigger stuff would go, like the refrigerator and some desks, but they didn't. So he called a mission group who will come and take all the left overs. He so wants to get rid of everything NOW. We will see how he does with the ladies here. He is not a social person and has trouble dealing with "strangers" in his house. But he is the one who encouraged me to do this, so it is up to him to find something to do. My turn will only be every 2 months or so.

We have finally dropped out of the 100's to 99, but the mornings are getting down to the low 70's. We won't have rain until November so everything will remain dry, brown and dusty. The birdies sure love our new birdbath in the backyard. I have a pair of robins that get mad at me when they come to drink and I am back there working. DH had to pull the Roma tomatoes out because it was just too hot and they started to die back inspite of watering well. We are still getting a few cherry tomatoes though.

Sounds like everyone is enjoying family, planning trips and taking care of business. Prayers for those in need. Dinner tonight will be fish tacos with homemade coleslaw. DH's tacos are the best!!!

Good afternoin!

We had fun at the party last night. The kids ran and played and ran some more.

I have a bad tooth - just hoping it would not go south for a long while, but nope. I have a DDS appointment tomorrow morning to get it fixed.

Heading out to get some rick rack, buttons and embroidery floss.

Dinner is unkown, due to my tooth.

Enjoy,
Jana
