Good morning!!
Busy days here at our rally. We weren't able to get settled yesterday until 1:00 pm because our site was occupied. Other folks were supposed to be out but were getting their truck worked on in town and you can't move a long, long trailer w/o a truck. Speaking of the Long Long Trailer, did you know that was a true story? By Clinton Twiss.
Today about a dozen of us quilters are going to do a mini shop hop. The LQSs know we are coming and are offering us discounts! Yay! Also there will be an ice cream social and a white elephant gift exchange, seminars, visiting, touring new models of Arctic Fox RVs and a small potluck tonight.
Our coordinator asked me if I had something to cover windows in the clubhouse to block the sunshine from his big screen presentation. I hung up my campers quilt of appliquéd retro trailers. People thought it was up for raffle and we're trying to buy tickets! LOL
For dinner tonight we are having the promised chicken and rice, but also beef enchiladas, watermelon, and whatever else anybody brings
We are 75 Rigs here which means about 150 people. We have come a long ways in 15 years when the first rally was 4 rigs and 8 people! Weather today should be mid to upper 70's. Only bug in our ointment is mosquitoes. This park is on a waterfowl preserve, aka, giant swamp! We also have an osprey nest on a tall pole right next to our trailer. With babies. Fun to watch. Think of Irish!
Cutting this short-typing on Phone is tedious process. Have a great day and eat well !

Maryz: Rally sounds like a lot of fun. I know typing on phone is a pain in the tushy. Also I have to type and submit a portion and then go back and edit to add what else I wanted to say.
I am not sure about our dinner tonight, but I am thinking just simple turkey burgers on the grill and salad and chips.
The last box of turkey burgers I bought were "white meat" only. Cost a bit more, but boy, they really were tasty. I think the brand was Butterball???
Don't have much going on here, so I will just wish you all a happy day.
Velda

Mary—sounds like everything is going well—good fun, beautiful setting, fun people, yummy food, activities… so much to do… plus quilting and a shop hop! Life is good for you!!!
Becca—I had to do a load of laundry because Tinker Bell got me muddy the other night when I went to take care of the dogs, and my shirt has been soaking since. I have piles of veggies to consume.
Irish--that's just way too much sadness in your circle! My heart aches for you.
Vel—I hate typing on my phone and go to the computer whenever possible. I still have to edit on the computer with my typing, but not like the phone with its “know more than you do techno speller”. Those turkey burgers sound delicious! I live with Mr. Beef, so they would be an affront to him, but I’ve been known to eat them while he has a “real” burger. I like some of the veggie burgers as well.
One of DH’s coffee geezers has been bringing summer yellow squash and zucchini in for the taking, and another brought a big box of broccoli from one of the Amish auctions. I froze 4 quarts of broccoli, but I’m trying to get through the zucchini and squash. If you see vines coming out my ears, you’ll know I had enough. I’ll be vegging out on veggies tonight, and DH will have the last of his steak I made—probably in steak sandwiches along with fries or chips… He will give a cursory glance at the veggies and figure his beef ate grass… I think I’ll go make some veggie lasagna and see if I can tempt him…
Bon appétit!

Good afternoon!
I type on my tablet most of the timrm but turned off the know it all feature. So the misspellings are me!
Today is my class on the embroidery unit. That means the car knows the way for dinner - Subway has a hot pastrami right now, so we will see....
Ethan just got a new bed yesterday. Well, new to him. One of those that the mattress is at the tippy top and frees up floor space below. It was Stu's bed when they stayed with us. Ethan can't wait until it's dark tonight! The twin is coming back here to my house, so I can set up the kid's guest room. I have a grown up room as well.
Well, need to scoot!
Enjoy,
Jana

Good late afternoon from a very soggy, SW. Pa...This darn rain just came in the last 15 minutes and it was a dandy, could hardly see out of the windows...But, what really irks me, I had just finished planting more flowers and mulched and then the dam burst...Right now, the flowers are swimming.....
Mary, it sounds like you are having a great time and boy, what a crowd.....You sure have come a long way....And the story, The Long, Long Trailer, wasn't that the movie with Lucille Ball? One of the funniest ever.....Enjoy all those wild creatures, love it! And, I've heard if you use Vicks, it keeps the bugs away...Also, rub a fabric softener cloth over your arms and legs and then hook it to your belt..If nothing else, you'd smell or be nice and soft, lol.....
Becca, thinking of you also and wondering if you and DH got over your big weekend....If you're like me, love, love to have everyone visit but then the next day, I collapse, lol.....
Chickie, Oh I love how you eat...I would be so content to just have veggies and then of course a little goodie.....AND, you're right about too much sadness....My sister just called and told me the other cousin passed this morning while I was at the funeral for Jim's friend..But, that makes 3 and isn't that the "limit"????
The friend's funeral was very, very touching...He was as big a Notre Dame rooter as Jim, maybe bigger...And his youngest son gave a very nice talk on their lives and what a great guy his Dad was...Just sitting there brought back so many good memories...He used to call Jim, Fr. Jim and would call and ask if Fr. Jim was hearing confessions...Jim would always say, not sure we have that much time! And Jim would tell us, if you couldn't find Larry at a ND football game, just look at the bench and sure enough, there he'd be helping coach...He was a special friend, loved by all.....
Oh well, now the sun is out so I need to get on my horse and get moving....I want to visit with Jim and then who knows....Terry told me a funny...He said when he visited on Sunday, Jim did know him (after a couple of minutes) but the funny thing, he asked about Sue, the ex and wanted to know if she was still giving Terry a hard time...There are still parts of his brain that are still working....
As far as dinner, I have all the makings for a nice salad and might add some chips (always need my chips).....
Happy eating......
Have a good rest of the day.................
