daily devotion June 8

Psalm 61

There is no distance so remote or depth of despair that God does not hear us and heed our prayer.

Why do we have the assurance of his response and provision of God when we pray and cry to Him in our time of need?

1. because He knows we have made a commitment of faith
2. because of our confidence in the inheritance of salvation and blessing that He gives
3. because we know the years of our life are in His hand
4. because we have an eternal security and will dwell with Him forever
5. because HE continually pours out mercy and loving kindness according to our need and provides His truth to guide and sustain us.

But primarily it is so that we will sing praise to His name forever. We must never forget that all God does for us is not because of our need or because we deserve His grace. He doesn't provide an escape from troubles and a refuge of peace and blessing simply for our benefit; it is so that we would praise and glorify Him.

Our vows, or commitment, to live for Him is for the purpose of glorifying Him in our life, for He is worthy of all praise and honor. So the primary issue is whether or not we are true to our commitment each day.

Hugs and prayers
God bless
