SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, June 1st
Good Morning!
Can you believe it's June already?? Maybe God is just tired of the World and is speeding up time so He can get it overwith! Because it does seem to be going faster and faster!
I didn't find my fabric yesterday at Joann's. It's been a staple there for years - a white TOT with a little 1" high Christian Cross on it. And I only need about 1/4 yard! Ratztlefratz!! But I did find another white TOT that sort of looks vintage and with my 60% off coupon they sent to my phone yesterday morning, I got 6 yards of that (all that was on the bolt) for $15. I also got my ironing all done and several little sewing tasks finished. As well as decisions made for our food contributions at our upcoming RV RAlly. Appetizers, potlucks, community breakfasts, etc., as well as a shopping list and a packing list. But I can't get into the trailer just now because 'someone' has it up on blocks, tires off, working on brakes. And he's waiting for parts. So all things trailer are on hold for now.
Today - still a mystery. It looks to be a rainy day so no weeding because I do worry so about melting. (hahahahaha!!) But I have enough uglies that are starting to rear their 'ugly' heads to keep me busy inside. And there's always sewing to be done! Bill has a Comcast guy coming by this morning because of an internet/modem problem so I better get out of my nightie pretty soon and into something more publicly presentable.
CHICKIE - weather changes quickly in your neck of the woods! Blackie and Lint think you are their playmate! I know Scottie thinks I'm his! When I was young and we bucket fed calves, the buckets were permanently fixed in place and Daddy poured the milk into them and stood outside the fence. He had no time for the fun and games you seem to be having with your babies! He missed a lot! lol!! Glad you are finally getting your "kitchen jewelry". For many years we didn't have handles on our cabinets and once we put them on, it was amazing how much cleaner the the cabinetry stays now!
TINA - happy to be getting good reports on your mom. and I love the name Matthew and it's nice they are continuing the family middle name as well. What is Frankie's real first name? Frank? Francis? Other? And does everyone call him Frankie or just you and all of us? Should Bill be calling him Frankie or Frank or Other when we visit?
BECCA - when they analyze DNA they don't usually use modern countries but "genetic regions". I am 8% Iberian Peninsula which is modern day Spain and Portugal but many of them migrated over Gibralter into France which might explain why my French grandmother looks so Spanish in her girlhood pictures. I find it fascinating!
IRISH - did you get your flowers and tomatoes planted? I planted very little this year compared to years past. I do have a couple of pepper plants on the railing of our deck, though. I saw Chickie got some and that sounded fun to me. I've never tried peppers before. Now I need to repot the into something bigger. It sounds as if you are getting some nice, quality time with Jim. Soak it up. And it's good to hear you are eating yourself! Can you have meals with him there if you choose? Not for free, I imagine.
JANA - I would love to use my Featherweight more but I just have no room to set it up. My sewing room is TINY and every surface is already spoken for. But I love owning it! Sorry to hear you may have Macular Degeneration in your future. Glad you are taking appropriate steps now to try to avert it.
LINDA - yoo hoo!! Supper's ready!!
Supper - I always come to this part of my post with big question mark in my mind. I think I'll make pork chops and scalloped potatoes. It's a cool, rainy day and comfort food is called for here. I hope you can come up with a good supper plan, too!

Stop! Or at least slow down!!! It can’t be June already! I need much more time to get things done…
Mary—sounds like you had a good shopping trip even if you didn’t find the exact match. Good bargain! RV Rally time already! Time is flying by!
Lucky you, Mary! You melt! I’ve been trying to melt for years, but every time I get wet I soak up and swell up like a sponge!
Yes, Lint and Blackie think I’m their fun “mama” and playmate. They want to play with the dogs, but the dogs don’t want to play. I’m looking forward to much cleaner cabinet doors! DH is busy installing the handles. He had to get longer screws for the drawers.
Irish—I love good meatloaf and would rather have meatloaf sandwiches than hamburgers! Enjoy some for me!!! We used to get calls for more clothes, but MIL’s closet was full. We would eat meals with her sometimes. They wanted you to call a day ahead, but often we didn’t.
Becca—DH thought he had American Indian in his background, but there’s none. It’s interesting to see what makes you up.
We are warm here. I have two loads of clothes on the line. DH was out last evening and got wet to the skin, so I needed to do those and did another load as well. I’m on doggy duty for two days, and we walked earlier. The next trips will be in the ATV or truck this evening and bedtime. I have to go take care of them in the morning, too.
Dinner tonight… I think I can get by with steak again for DH and something veggie for me.
Bon appétit!

Good afternoon,
Muggy and quite warm. With a southwest wind, we are sure to get a few thunder bumpers this afternoon.
I just popped in a potroast in the crockpot for tonight's dinner. So I am good to play in the Batt Cave until dinnertime, except for a possible trip to the little girl's room. It is upstairs, not yet finished down in the cave.
Not much here,
Enjoy!

Twin boys!
When Sarah found out that our last child was going to be a boy, she had a similar reaction - and I quote - he can stay in my room until he is two, then he is out! The day that Aaron turned two, I found that Sarah had moved his crib into the room with his brothers, Matt and Daniel, rearanging as needed. Good luck to Sophie!
