SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, May 27
Good Morning!
Happy today! It's my little boy's 42nd birthday today and we're having a BBQ with family. So I have lots to do this morning. Yesterday, after stacking 1/2 cord of wood, I ended up at the grocery store and also hit the Goodwill next door. It was calling my name. I found a pair of shorts and 4 new summer tops, a jigsaw puzzle for Autumn's library, (she always has a puzzle going on one of the tables), a brand new, still in the package board game, and a purrfect white elephant for our RV rally next month (a 10" ceramic trout wearing a Santa hat with sleigh runners under it and it's open at top like a candy dish so I'll add some gummy fish to it.) You just can't find treasures like this in a 'normal' store!
TINA - how is your mom this morning? and your dad? And YOU??
JANA - Matt will get the hang of backing the fifth-wheel eventually, but he's wise to widen his parking area! Even experienced parkers want all the room they can get!
CHICKIE - I see you have another baby cow in the family. How many does this make this year?
BECCA - I have/had one little red azalea. and it was always so pretty, but it was 25 years old and it was half dead, so I pulled it out this spring and put in peonies.
IRISH - Chickie's idea of making yourself a big pot of soup to work your way through was good. Make mine split pea, please!
LINDA - Retirement is exciting! Did we ever decide on a hobby for your hubby? lol!!
For our BBQ today we are having burgers on the grill, corn on the cob, watermelon, and a fruit/pasta salad. Also a variety of chips, cake, apple pie, and ice cream. I don't think anyone will go away hungry. WE're also going to have a campfire, croquet, and maybe a board or card game.
Do you have supper planned yet?

Good morning! I have a few minutes before I leave for town and thought I’d drop by.
I think we have 25 or 26 babies and two cows left to have their calves. One, the one I call Cindy Lauper because of a cute hair style, probably won’t have one. She didn’t last year, and it’s not looking good this year. I would keep all the babies if I could, but we don’t crowd our pastures.
Linda—you asked how long I’ll keep the yard calves in the yard… probably at least six months. They need to be eating well on their own and not needing milk replacer.
This morning after she ate, Blackie was following me around like a puppy. I really enjoy them. Of course, when they get to be 500 pounds, it’s not so cute. They don’t realize their strength or my weakness. I think Lint is probably 150 and Blackie is about 100 pounds now. I can still wrestle them although two on one is a little exciting when I have two pails of milk.
We are warm and muggy and overcast. Sure feels like a storm is brewing! Usually Memorial weekend is cold and rainy, so this is a little different—warm. I think part of the weekend should be nice for the boaters on the lake next door.
Mary—that fish is too funny! We didn’t have time to get to the other thrift stores Thursday. Guess I need to get over there again on DD’s afternoon off! I’ve never been able to get a good start on azaleas. They grow well on the north side of buildings in this area, but my thumb is not green… pretty brown! Of course, I’d rather be in my sewing room than working like I should in the yard.
Time for me to hit the road…
Dinner tonight… I’ll find something… maybe leftovers. DH doesn’t care, he has blackberry cobbler for dessert, and if I’d let him he’d have a complete meal of it. His blood sugar couldn’t handle it. Maybe I’ll forget cooking and join Mary. I could bring half of a blackberry cobbler…
Bon appétit!

Good morning!
There is beautiful weather still! It is gorgeous outside and we will get unto the 80's. Finally!
Mary - how's it feel to gave a baby older than you are? LOL Mine, Aaron will be 30 the first part of July. Enjoy the family time!
Chickie - what fun adventures out in the farm! I would say those two baby cows are getting quite big!
No idea on dinner - but plently of food here to decide from.
Enjoy!
Jana
Matt is BBQing at his house tomorrow for dinner and we are invited! Just will make a goodie for afters.

Good early afternoon from a chilly, dreary, cloudy, rainy, yucky day in Sw. Pa....Yep, I think we have all the nasties rolled up in 1 today but maybe Mother Nature will get it out of her system and give us some sun and warm stuff...But, you know, when you look at the weather map, it is very colorful, isn't it?
Mary, I did want to tell you, it wasn't me who sent you the cat but I'll gladly take the "blame"...AND, I also was so happy to hear Foxy did come home the other day....I was worried because I know how I'd feel if someone went missing, even Jake when he's out with his lady friends...
Chickie, I think I have told everyone about you and your "babies" and have shown the pictures...To do what you do, you really do have a huge heart....Blackberry cobbler, mind if I tag along when you go to Mary's?
Jana, Lucky you with your weather....If we hit the mid 60s today, I think we'll be doing good...AND also, you are blessed with having your family so close...See, good things come to good people.....Don't remind me about "kid's" birthday, my baby will be 52 the end of July, yikes......
Becca, been thinking about you and hoping your day is a good one....
Today is kind of an "ugly" day and I'm staying home...It takes me longer in the morning just getting the body in working order and then takes all day today what used to take a few hours...But, washer is doing it's thing and the upstairs is mostly done...Of course, the fur babies think it's play time and want my undivided attention...What would I do without them....So, as soon as they settle down and go upstairs for their nap, I can take care of the 1st floor....I still have all my flowers to plant but with the weather, they'll have to wait...No real garden this year but I am going to plant a few tomatoes in my empty big old kitty litter containers...Maybe a few peppers and a zucchini but that's about it...Hopefully in a few days, I can get outside and play in the dirt....
Yesterday the girls took me to lunch so I have left overs for my dinner...Tomorrow, I plan on spending most of the day with Jim, maybe Monday as well..For 30 years, every year, Jim and I would sit and watch the kids and grands march in the Memorial Day parade and now those kids are all grown up...Darn, miss those days.....
Hope you all have a great day....
Happy eating...........
Just in case you might not have heard.......Our Pittsburgh Penguins will be playing Monday night, hopefully on their way to another Stanley Cup Championship..........

Hi just stopping by to let you know they took the tube out and she's of the ventilator, she's on CPAP machine now to help her keep her airways open so she can breath easier. We just got home, I'm exhausted. She looks so so bad, I cried. And still can't even type about it without crying. Sorry
