SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, May 25th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu May 25, 2017 3:00 am

Good Morning,

Not a lot going on here. Bill fixed our trailer bed - and I'll allow you all to let your imaginations run wild here because I'm sure your ideas are way more fun than the reality - and today we'll put it back together. Also, company is coming - 4 people - for supper so it will be a day of uglies and food prep. We'll probably have a campfire outside in our firepit so we'll be sweeping the patio and dragging out the patio table/chairs. We're having a family BBQ on Saturday for my son's birthday so we'll be all set for that event, too.

CHICKIE - is Doyal going with you to Tasha's graduation? Those calves are more like big rambunctious dogs! lol!! And they love you! Ahh,,, the bed. I like your version better - either of them! but the reality is - workers in RV factorys are usually very young, very inexperienced, and very big on celebrating weekends if you get my drift. So the hinges that lift up the bed were installed backwards and in the wrong place. It's a wonder they held this long and didn't tear the wall at the head of the bed clean off! lol!

TINA - I want to come to your end of school party and paint rocks, too!! Sounds like fun!

JANA - actually, except for the newspaper part, we have been doing exactly that - documenting everything Vicki does with photographs. One day she'll do something big and it will be the incident the kids are looking for to allow them to get her some help.

BECCA - I know teen girls here like to have birthday parties at salons and they can take in food and eat and gossip while they have their mani/pedi's. Maybe a shop would allow a few 3-yr=olds to have their party, too. I think it would be fun!

LINDA - I hope the dissolution of everything goes quickly because you need to get that motorhome out and on the highway and see the country! It's awesome! I told Autumn if they ever decide to move home, they can stay in our house for a whole year and we'll hit the highway, 'cuz I want to see it all! Again!

Supper tonite is going to be grilled chicken, twice-baked potatoes, brussels sprouts, watermelon, apple pie, and vanilla ice cream. Since we have great appreciation for good wines, we're hoping someone brings some! Otherwise, we'll drink what we have! lol!

What's the story at your house?

Good morning!

The storm blew in just about game time, all wind, very little rain. Then aboutvthe fourth inning, the thunder cell had moved past us, so all became calm. Still warm enough that no coat or sweater was needed.

Oh about our Kate - she nailed it perfectly! Aaron has it on video. If i can figure a wsy to share it with you I will. Kate sang it acapella and did it at a slower tempo and you could feel the meaning of our National Anthem and of all those who gave us this opportunity to live in this free land. She was stopped in the stands many times and told how well she sang and was thanked.

Now, Aaron was a hoot on the field with her. He was a little kid in a candy shop. So happy to be on the grass and dirt side of thecstadium. He is a big baseball fan. He was wishing he had a container to get some of the dirt by home plate! One happy boy!

Gracie sat in my lap while her mom sang. Gracie was so tickled to see her mom on the jumbotron screen. Such a big smile on her little face to see her mom. But, dhe was like the camel and her nose in the tent. I let her play on the step next to me, well she slowly stretched it into three steps. The team mascot came by, and Gracie beelined to my lap and would have nothing to do with that giant bumble bee.

We had lots of fun.

This morning I have a eye doctor appointment to get ny glasses I lost replaced. It will be do nice to have sunglasses again!

Well, we will see about dinner later. I have a ton of uglies to get done in my kitchen.

Enjoy!
Jana

Good morning from a very dismal, grey, chilly, rainy, SW. Pa...BUT, better days ahead.....

Surprise! I think I'm back, not exactly sure sometimes....It's been a hectic, painful couple of weeks and hopefully most of it is behind us....The knee is healing but the back is not doing as well but there again, when you reach the magic age of 39, it does take longer to get things back in order, right???Let's just say, I think I've learned my lesson (for awhile)...But aside from the pain, the hardest was placing Jim and it still breaks my heart...He seems to be doing well but I'm not sure if he understands where he is or why..I usually spend afternoons with him and then leave when it's time for him to have dinner...And then of course I sit in the car and have a good cry but I do realize I'm not able to take care of him but darn, I do miss not having him here at home....

Kathy and Tim were here for 2 weeks but had to fly back to Reno on Sunday...I honestly don't know what I would have done if it hadn't been for her and my sister...Getting appointments and then getting me there was a huge help....Besides, it sure was great having her here...

I know my life will never be the same but I'm trying to adjust and we'll be OK..Everyone is taking care of me and I did make the comment, with all this special care, if it didn't hurt so much I might do it more often...Kind of got the dirty looks on that one, lol....

But, along with the family taking care of me, you gals have been all special...With your thoughts, prayers, cards and text messages, it all certainly helped and I will never, ever be able to thank you all enough.....

Haven't made it to the sewing machine yet but soon....Today is doing a few uglies, then visiting with Jim and then dropping the car off for inspection, it's only a month late, lol...And then tonight is a big Penguin hockey night, hopefully a win for our team...

And as far as cooking or dinner, that's really not happening...If I go to lunch, I usually bring half home for dinner or just find something...Cereal has become a good friend, lol....Jim didn't eat much but at least I had reason to cook but we'll see....

Just wanted to stop in and give you all a big HI and thank you all for being my special friends.................

Happy eating..................

Good evening!

Today was in the 80's but still hot in the sun. We got the RV out of storage early this morning and brought it home. It has to be smogged tomorrow before I can renew the registration. DH about killed himself changing the oil, checking all the systems (funny how you forget what switches to use after not camping for 6 months), then washing the monster (30 feet). I helped him with the washing and drying but mainly I was trying to restring one of day/night shades. I had bought all the parts and found a video on the internet showing how to do it. What took 5 minutes on the video took me 2 hours! Thought we were going to go camping the weekend after Labor Day, but our contractor called and said he could get started on the bathroom reno next week. He said it will take about 2 weeks to complete the bathroom but no word on how long, or when he will start the sun room. At least the RV will be cleaned, oiled and ready to go.

DH was so tired and exhausted that we just went out to dinner in town, Chinese....broccoli beef and General Tao chicken with a spicy sweet and sour sauce. They usually give us so much food that we have leftovers for Saturday dinner.

Good to have you back, Irish. I know you have felt like you wanted the world to slow down so you could get off, but it just keeps on turning until you are ready to climb back on.

And to the rest of you, glad things are going your way. Have a good weekend.

**Linda
