Psalm 55
When the worries and anxiety seem overwhelming, resulting in sleepless nights, and the distractions sidetrack the vision, one just wants to fly away like a dove and find a place of solace and rest apart from the rat race. Many times I have seen how the role of Pastor affects my DH. I have seen what he has to deal with and I know the frustration he gets at times. Yet, I realize that he is being obedient to what God wants for him when he stays in the position and takes the criticism and attacks because he knows that it is where God placed him and He is not finished using him yet.
What is especially painful is when friends and colleagues are the ones who let you down and betray you. The attacks are easy to handle when they come from someone you don't know or generic criticism toward the organization. But when one of your own is the source of it the pain is greater. In times such as this is when we plead with God to hear our prayer, not to hide from our supplication but to give heed and answer. Our confidence is in God and knowing that He hears and responds--morning, noon and night.
This brings us to our verse today. It is not, in fighting the battle ourselves but in relinquishing our burdens to the Lord that we receive assurance. he will sustain us. God will deal with those who are dishonest and abusive, But HE will never let the righteous to be shaken. We only have to trust HIM.
Hugs prayers and God bless
