SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 15th
Good Morning!
Well, Sue & Kenn have been and gone. Really enjoyed their visit and were sad to see them go, but Cindy is anxiously awaiting their arrival (as are their kids!) so I guess I need to share. She is such a hoot! Love that girl! And the good news is that, so far, there has been no reaction to their visit from Vicki other than glaring.
My DS and DDIL were here for brunch yesterday. Quilting came up and they would like me to make them a quilt by Kim Diehl called Garden Medallion. In civil War fabrics. I happen to be between projects right now and I also happen to have all the materials I need in my stash. So I'm going to get started on that today!
TINA - glad the lunch went well with your mom yesterday. Glad more family showed. And what a sweet gift you received from your sweet Frankie! He is such a keeper! I bet it looks beautiful in your yard!
BECCA - sounds like your day was gently filled with family, too!
JANA - dinner brought to you! Best gift of all! What did you have? Do I need to cover my eyes?
We still have a fridge full of leftovers - lasagna, pork chops, hashbrowns, sausage. you name it! I think I'm going to clean it all out today and freeze some things in 2-serving portions. We just can't eat it all in time. So dinner tonite will be something from all this excess bounty!
What bounty will you be blessed with tonite?

Good morning!
No, Mary, you don't need to cover your eyes. Crenda and the family made homemade egg rolls, pot stickers, and fried rice. Hers are very yummy. A big ol chocolate fudge cake for dessert. The boys and I did the kitchen clean, a small gift for their mom on Mother's day.
Talked to Daniel and they are coming for a short visit over the 4th of July. Karlie even talked to me on the phone. I need a Karlie to English dictionary! LOL
Don't know yet what today will hold, i promise to stay out of trouble!
Enjoy!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 15th
Good morning! This was a busy weekend! I think it was busier than if I would have had brunch here. Saturday I made a cake and a cookie for the graduates for their parties on Sunday. Sunday was graduation, making appearance at one party and going to the other one. There was also feeding calves, taking care of dogs and a side trip to buy an antique book about the county history.
Today is laundry and a program at the library tonight about the Civil War in the Osage area.
My sister didn’t give me much information on the banquet Friday night, but my DDIL filled me in yesterday at DGD’s graduation party. They really singled Mom out and recognized her as a graduate 81 years ago. It was real nice. I had my sister get Mom a corsage from me, but apparently she didn’t tell Mom . Yesterday Mom said my sister got her a corsage to wear. Oh well! My DDIL also said Mom looked real pretty in her new dress.
Mary—I like your excess bounty! I’m hoping we get a package of the pulled pork from last night. I need to check out your quilt. How nice to have everything in your stash and ready to go! Did you and Sue add to your stash on your adventures? Sounded like you were having a great time. Great news that Vicki didn’t do any harm!
Oh, Jana! You are speaking my language with the pot stickers, egg rolls and fried rice! I want to adopt Crenda!!!
Sounds like everyone had a great Mother’s Day! I did, although it was really all about graduations and not Mother’s Day at all. Still… no cooking for me, other than cake on Saturday, and that was Mother’s Day to me!!!
Dinner tonight… since we have to go to the library program at 6:30, I hope we can grab something in town before the lecture. DH has some errands to run, and perhaps I can get supper on the list…
Time to hang out laundry and load another…
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 15th
Sounds like everyone had a good Mother's Day. DH and I went to Fresno to the Zoo for the morning. We had tried to go several weeks ago on a Friday but full of Kinder and 1st graders on field trips (I tried to warn him but would he listen) so that never happened. On Mother's day it was interesting, full of young couples with babies, very few old folks like us, and almost no teenagers. The weather was great and we had a good time. For dinner DH cooked tritip stroganoff and broccoli.
The Fresno Zoo has slowly been upgrading itself and doing a wonderful job. However, once you have been to the San Diego Zoo, NOTHING compares!
Went to my quilt guild meeting and stayed for the scrap class afterward. "Audited" it and helped my friend with her ironing and squaring. Taught her to use "leaders and enders" to save thread and make it easier to chain piece. Surprised she didn't know about them because she has been quilting a lot longer than I have. The instructor had sprayed purple in her hair...it did nothing for her. LOL. I will take her pattern and resize it to use up some of my smaller scrap pieces.
STILL waiting on our contractor for the bathroom and sun room reno. We had wanted to get it started in April and here we are already mid May. I have to leave for 2 weeks mid June so DH will have to stay home and supervise, if the contractor starts later. Oh well, nothing big is happening during that time...DH will just be shutting down his office.
Today is cleaning the kitchen up after a weekend of DH's cooking, sweeping/ mopping all the hardwood floors and catching up with you all. After lunch will go into the office to help file charts and ledgers and "be a presence". The office manager is not in all week so I need to be there to intimidate the staff. "When the cat's away, the mice will play."
You all have a wonderful day.
