Psalm 50
why does HE respond when we call upon Hi and rescue us out of our troubles? It is not for our sake, because we deserve it, or because He is obligated to help us; it is for His sake, that He might receive honor and glory. Yet we come before Him and plead for mercy and for help in difficult situations as if we can take His intervention for granted. We fail to humbly reflect a thankful heart and gratitude that would honor Him. We go on living just like those in the world, ignoring a disciplined and holy way of life that honors God. It is not necessarily the one who attends church faithfully and strives to please God by good works who honors God but whoever "offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving" V23.
The person who is constantly thanking God our of a heart of gratitude, humbly recognizing his unworthiness of God's blessings, is the one to whom God reveals the assurance of salvation and guides in his daily walk.
