Psalm 48
Jerusalem was built to be the city of God. On Mount Zion, it was visible from the plains and all the valleys surrounding it. One had to go "up to Jerusalem" to travel there. The centerpiece of the city was the temple, which represented the presence of God in the midst of hHis people. The massive fortifications of the walls and the ramparts were impressive and would defy and adversary from ever thinking of challenging the rule and dominion of the kingdom of Israel as represented by this city.

Our God is filled with loving-kindness and that is where the thoughts of His people go when they worship Him. In spite of His awesome power, we know Him because of His gentle and loving nature that provides mercy when we come into His presence. He reigns forever, and although He is Lord over all the Earth, He will guide us faithfully throughout each of our lives.

I am blessed to live in the shadows of five beautiful temples. They are placed on top of the hills, so be a beacon in our lives. The church is building temples throughout the world. Our temples are very special places, where we can go and worship in the House of the Lord. On every temple, inscribed above the door is -The House of the Lord and Holiness to the Lord. Reminders to us as we enter that we are there to feel His presence and be taught His truths. What a joyous blessing that is in my life. That when I am in need, discouraged, or whatever may be, I can go there and find the answers I am seeking.
