Daily devotion April 18

Psalm 41
We are told that the one who considers and responds to the helpless or the poor is the one who is blessed. God delivers us from trouble when we give ourselves to others. He protects us and does not allow us to be overcome by our enemies. When we are sick and in need, He sustains us by His grace and restores us to health. Jesus modeled compassion to the oppressed, the poor, and the broken and expects us to walk in His steps.

Focusing on ourselves, our own needs and comforts is a manifestation of the fleshly nature, not the Spirit of God. This is why He told the rich young ruler to sell all that he had and give to the poor; until he gave himself and what he had to others, his life was all focused on his self-centered nature.

We are not properly related to God until we are sensitive and responsive to the needs of others. Blessing others and ministering to them is the key to being blessed ourselves

Hugs prayers and God Bless

It is written, "when you are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God. What a great blessing that is in our lives, to serve and help others. The help we give those in need, always comes back to us far more.

I was raised by a mom who's example was service. She taught me "to find a need and fill it". It was the slogan of Henry J Kaiser, on his cement trucks where i grew up.

The more we serve, the more we become like Him, who did serve, and the more we will become comfortable in His presence someday. May we ask each day to find someone to serve and then be able to hear the still small voice whisper.

We are to be servants .Ministering to others is all thru the scriptures.May we be blessed as we are in service to our fellow man wherever we are called to serve. We always receive more than we give. Becca
