Psalm 39

We are told to recognize that whatever we accomplish is because of what the Lord has chosen to do in our life. Therefore we do not boast or take pride in conceited claims of what we have done. Putting life in perspective will not only cause us to guard our ways, to live with integrity and walk in purity, but it will cause us to guard our words as well.

Our greatest tendency is to sin with our tongue, especially when the wicked or others come against us. WE can identify with the feeling of the psalmist in this verse. Jesus said that we will give an account for every idle word. We need to learn to muzzle our mouth and bite our lips; it is just not worth it to say things that are hurtful or to criticize and put down others, no matter how we can justify it because of what they have done. It is better to be as one who is deaf and mute and keep silent.

Once again this perspective of life compels us to turn to the Lord that Ne might hear our cry and deliver us from our transgressions, for our hope is in HIM

Hugs prayers and God bless
Izzy

I really believe that everything in my life happened or is going to happen because God has it figured out. And I can see how he led me to where I am today. He is my leader and I am so thankful for that.

keeping quiet is difficult to do in an office full of girls. I just tell myself if they are talking about one person they are talking about everyone, including each other. I'm the odd man out and don't mind a bit. But I so often want to tell them to shut up.

Thanks Izzy for adding these devotions to your mornings, it's one of the first things I see each day and I appreciate it.

The sharpest tool on this earth, is such a little thing, the tongue! It can cut through quickly. It can be used for hurting, but it can be used for good.

Using our tongue can help others find happiness. We can teach, compliment, and guide. Using that tool wisely can be a great blessing.
