SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, April 8th

Good Morning!
Happy Saturday! It is also my oldest brother's 55th wedding anniversary. He is 16 years older than I am. He was in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA, when he met and married his wife. I remember when he brought her home to WA I was learning long division and I just couldn't get it. But his wife helped me and as long as I did it while kneeling at her feet and resting my paper on her lap, I got it!! Kids think strange things, don't they?! I was no exception. Another strange thing I thought was that all moms were named Marie. My mom and my friend's mom were both Maries so I figured when I grew up and became a mom my name would change to Marie. Amazing that I can function on 'the outside', isn't it! lol!
Our weather has been nasty the last several days so I've just been hunkered in my sewing room, making mess after mess. Isn't that great!? Yesterday I promised Bill that as soon as I finished this current project I would 'redd' up the entire house before letting myself start anything else. We looked at each other for a moment and then both burst out laughing!
We are hoping this weekend will bring Vicki's kids to remove all her crappola from our lawn. If not, then we'll do it ourselves on Tuesday, next predicted dry day, so we can mow and finish the work needed in that corner of the yard. I wonder what that will precipitate.. . .
BECCA - I LOVED your photos of your family! Your DD is so pretty! I bet she looks just like her mom! and all the little ones were so cute! But those twins really took my eye! and all your lovely quilts! Such treasures for them all to carry with them through life. Thank you for sharing!
EVERYONE - if you missed them, TINA was kind enough to post Becca's photos in yesterday's Supper Club thread. Check them out!
TINA - thank you so much for doing that. You are such a sweetie! The Big Mouse would love you! (I told Tina that if I had the money I'd send her to Disneyland because she does so much for so many!)
CHICKIE - guest for hunting? How long will they be there? Maybe you should move at least one project and machine out to the living room. Funny about your Hooligans - Tink is the size of a German Shepherd but goes for the mice but Boomer is little bigger than a cat and prefers to hunt 'big game'. How is your time alone going? Even without DH Duty, you'll still be a busy lady with the calf babies and the H's, and getting ready for company.
JANA - rats! I think we were hoping we had a taker on the table saw. It takes up a LOT of room in our shop and we use it so seldom. Hope you found what you were looking for yesterday!
BECCA - I'm a Bali girl, too. They always seem to fit the best. What I hate about bras is that once you reach a certain size, it's hard to find anything pretty or in a fancy color.
IRISH - I think Father Time was Mother Nature's husband, but she froze him out!! Yes, I think our sisters would get along just fine! Mine has a razor sharp wit and cracks everyone up. She's very irreverant so one has to check their sensitivities at the door when they're with her! Sorry your temps are so cold, but I'd rather be too cold than too hot - and 90 is too hot for me! My BIL (Crazy Sis's DH) is in Yuma right now and he said it's 94. It would put serious dents in appreciation for our quilts!
I loved our supper last night. It sort of morphed into an Italian one pot meal - chicken, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, onions, garlic, Italian seasonings, spinach, and orzo. I browned the chix, onions, and garlic, added the rest, and I put it in the oven on low. BUT BILL DIDN'T LIKE IT!!! He said the orzo seemed slimy. Yet, I made soup a few weeks ago with orzo in it and he loved it. Oh well. His loss. MY dinner is set for tonite! I have leftovers! I think he is going to get something my SIL, Terry, gave us when she cleaned out her freezer before leaving last week - battered cod pieces. UGH. Can't believe I have F--h in my freezer. But it's all his and it's a good opportunity to get it out of there before it taints our real food.
What's going on your plate tonite?
