SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, April 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Apr 06, 2017 3:20 am

Good morning!

We are rainy, chilly, and windy this morning so it's going to be another indoor day. I see some uglies that SHOULD get some attention, but probably won't. And I have sewing projects sitting hopefully in my playroom. And I REALLY need to go do some undie/bra shopping. So we'll see how my day turns out!

BECCA - glad you got those cookies made! Your oatmeal raisin? We use Craisins instead of raisins. We think they have a little more zip. I also use a heavy hand on cinnamon and cloves.

VELDA - so nice of you to join us at the table! you sound happy to be back home again. And soon you'll be seeing your son and family! How are they doing? Guess you'll know after you visit them. I hope your tulips wait for you to come back!

CHICKIE - I'm still smiling at your vision! lol! You know, I've seen photos of Eleanor attired in almost identical fashion! So, you go, Girl!! Hug all your babies for me!

TINA - any chance of Holly buying the house she is now renting? Maybe she could buy a mobile and set it up on the property your parents bought but will probably never move to . . . Whatever she does, I hope she keeps it in HER name since she will be the one making the payments. My nephew bought property with his girlfriend years ago and when they broke up it was a nightmare dealing with that property. He lost his shirt on it. Too bad there is no daycare at Holly's school. Wouldn't that be purrfect for a lot of the young teachers!

IRISH - you really have your hands full! (((hug!))) You know, they make straps (hate to call them leashes but that's what they really are) for toddlers so they can't wander. Would that be something you could consider with Jim? Or handcuffs? ;o) You must get nervous every time you have to take him out for errands. I use silk flowers on my parents' and grandparents' graves. Also my husbands' but that cemetery removes everything for mowing once a week, so I don't invest a lot there.

JANA - I'd hire that little Ethan in a heartbeat, but he'd have quite a commute to work here! lol! Good luck at the dentist. Hope it's nothing too traumatic. My appointment next Tuesday. Hate going, but hate worse not going.

Thank you all for prayers for the "Vicki Situation". We've often wondered what would happen to her when she reached this stage of her disease. So far as we can see, nothing is happening, but we are hoping that the kids are taking this week to work on a plan. The garbage she is tossing into her backyard is drawing rodents and now we are seeing mice here. UGHH! Bill says if it gets much worse, he'll call the county health department. Though, on the plus side, the cats are happy!

So, we've talked about my cats' dinner, now let's talk about ours. Our freezer is full of lots of everything. I think I might bake some pork chops and sweet potatoes, with my last jar of homemade applesauce and a spinach salad. I might even thaw the chops in the micro and put them into the crockpot so we can smell them all day long.

What sounds good to you?

Hello everyone,a rather unsettled day here.Rain & winds earlier.More storms on the way & snow tonite.

Maryz Praying Vickie can get help.Thats not a good situation about the garbage.Cannot imagine how her mind works.Sad to see someone like that.
Yes my cookies were yummy.Dont think DH would go for craisins but I love them.
I too use more cinnamon.

Irish Hoping for better days for both of you.Hope you find a solution to keep Jim in car & in control when you go out.Thats a tad scary. My DB always puts flowers on Mom & Dads & my DB & DS graves. They died at an early age.I send him money & he does the work.My DB Lorenza that died did it for a few years & he put on all our relatives.

Tina House hunting is a big chore.Do hope she finds the perfect house near you.

Velda Know you enjoy your DSs family.Glad you get to visit them.

Chickie What a picture you painted for me.With all your chores you need a special outfit with a headlamp on your head for nite vision.Just stay safe in all your nursing duties.

Jana Sure you're busy with Ethan & Batt cave.

For those who don't read sewing.Twins update.Gabriel is being fed again bec he isn't eating as well. And he has episodes where he has to has his Heart stimulated. He will have to have 5 consecutive days free of episodes before he can go home & be eating well.Anistyn is doing well.

It's chicken pie here today with Cole slaw, green beans & cookies. We are still enjoying the pies DD gave us for Christmas .From the freezer of course. Have a wonderful Dinner to all. Becca

Good morning!

The soup will be tried tonight, i had a hankering for Chinese, so we picked up some on the way home from Lowes. Michael wants a out feed table for the tablesaw and we now have started looking. So far, no luck in the right height department.

When i get back in awhile, i am heading to hide in the Batt Cave and start a scrap project. A wall hanging with interchangeable panels for the seadons, holidays and a birthday. It has flying geese on the outside border, none of which are the same size or perfect. All small, but very irregular. The panels attach with velcro. I bought the books with all the patterns a few years ago, time to finally do it!

Well have to leave,
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning :)
Mary, I sure feel for you and Bill having to deal with all that mess on a daily basis. I can't stand mice, I have 4 cats that are supposed to keep them away but every once in awhile one gets in, yucky but we keep traps set all the time and usually catch them before we even see any signs that they made it past the little cat army. No Mom and Dad's property isn't an option, they keep saying they're moving, it was supposed to be by December then April and now by November, I've given up on that so I don't say anything anymore. Oh and Holy doesn't want a mobile home even though the factory here makes them way nicer than mosthomes. .. Oh well. And she says she's not going to buy anything just to buy it, she wants something that she'll be happy in forever, we've lived in the same home for 30 years next month.
Becca, prayers for Gabriel. I hope all goes well. Snow tonight? ! Brrrrrrrrrrr. Keep warm.

Mary got me in the mood for pork chops so that will be the main attraction :)
I made molten lava cakes last night, I've always wanted to try them, yummy and they came out perfect my first try! I thought I'd mess up but nope :)

Good early afternoon from chilly, getting cold, rainy, calling for snow, very dreary, SW. Pa....I really think someone who knows Mother Nature personally should sit her down and have a good talk....She is really getting out of hand....Does anyone know If there is a Father Nature, maybe that's the problem......

Mary, I vote for letting the uglies as they are and sewing the day away....BUT in this house, it's either do laundry or buy new undies or I could do as Chriss suggested, turn them inside out....I think I'd be worried about the cat's dinners as much as I'd be worried about Vickie...As much as I know you don't want to cause any problems, I think I agree with Bill about calling the Board of Health...Getting just a little close for comfort...
And don't think I haven't thought about the "handcuffs", lol...But, he does have a hard time getting out of the seat belt so we're safe for awhile...But, if he continues to not get back in the car after we've shopped or whatever, then I'll have to stop taking him....One good thing, Terry did say, he'll be able to be here in the evening or weekends if I need to run out....

Becca, I go along with your hubby with the raisins instead of craisens...I love raisins, the more the better and oatmeal/raisin cookies are a favorite...And I know I don't have oatmeal, darn...Even though Gabriel is having problems, all will be fine...He's just taking his good old time, eating up all that extra attention...I have a feeling, he'll be a "holy terror" when he gets home, lol....

Tina, I like Mary's idea about a mobile home, in her name, on that property...I wish I had put one on our property years ago and didn't have to worry about our steps these days....But, there again, things will work out....

Along with doing the Whirlpool waltz, I'm cleaning out the "cubby hole"...Of course I do have to depend on one of you just in case I get stuck in there...Jim would probably look in and then close the door, lol....Yesterday, while Jim took a long nap, I worked outside and it was so darn nice and the little bit I did really made a difference...Then we get this nasty stuff today, grrrr...But, the weekend is supposed to be back to spring/like...In searching for my lilies, it seems the deer found them first...Most of them have been nibbled on but hopefully, they'll bounce back...AND I really am thinking of the silk flowers for the graves...My sister takes care of our parents and Jim and I always took care of his parents and several aunts and cousins so silk seems to be the way to go....

As for our dinner, I'm thinking maybe soup...I have a hankering for veggie/beef and this just might be the day...AND if I had oatmeal, you know what I'd be baking.................

Have a great day.....

Happy eating................

Tina, sorry I stomped on you....I guess our ideas for a mobile home isn't going to fly, right.....

Oops, sorry Jana, I seem to be stomping on everyone today......

Hi Mary, Becca, Chickie, Jana, Tina, and Irish. I was here early before the table was set.
Mary, I read about your gobble stopper. Made me smile because even 4 minutes is a fast meal.
Got our laundry done. Washed the fabrics I picked up from the church project room.
Catching a quick sandwich out on the way to dancing. Not much cooking going on here this week. LOL. Velda
HUGS, 💕 Vel
