SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 21st

Did you hear? Spring has sprung, though you sure couldn't tell it here! We are chilly and rainy. 44* with a bite to it. Supposed to warm almost to 60* today but stay wet. My poor plants are getting beat up with the rain.
Yesterday evolved differently than I'd planned. We went to Elma, 80 miles away, to pick up a 40-yard roll of batting at the Warm Factory, had lunch at a BBQ place we've always wanted to try, and then stopped at our friends' in Oly. They had a big leather recliner they got at an estate sale that they decided didn't go with their decor and so wanted to get rid of it. Bill loved it the other night when we were there, so they gave it to him. We had the pick-up yesterday and since we had to go through Olympia anyway, brought it home. Now our old easy chair will go to our DGS's house, which is making HIM happy! I had time to make one 6-inch FGV block before we left for the day and I also got in 10 minutes of yard work. That was our entire day.
Today Bill wants to go to a movie because it's $6-day. He doesn't care what he sees, he just loves movies. I don't. But I guess I'll go today and we'll see Beauty and the Beast. I won't go when he's seeing violent movies though.
BECCA - sorry your walking buddy is moving. Maybe she'll find a place close by? I've been walking with my across-the-road neighbor, Lori, for about 10 years. We actually met while walking the trail near our houses. But before that, I used to listen to audio books on my MP3 player while I walked. Dogs are great walking buddies. Just putting that out there . . .
TINA - Maybe we ALL should have been born in Hawaii! lol! You know, I see 'dreadmills' all the time in thrift shops for not much money. Maybe that would be a better way for you to do your walking. Snakes!! egads!!
IRISH - I wish you and Jim lived next door to me - he could vacuum all he wanted! I'm not supposed to do it either, but I get tired of having to make a formal request when the carpets are obviously in need. But I do NOT mow. Bill uses the brush hog to mow, so it's not as nice as it was when he used the walk-behind, but I'm not complaining (not to him, anyway! ;o) )
CHICKIE - WOW! You have a whirlwind household right now! As long as little Lint's meals aren't delayed and she's getting all the cuddling she needs, then all is copacetic. HB to your DGS. 21! You have just the right length walk to go see Choc and Maggie. As long as the weather is do-able. And I LOVE your quilt shop in Edna. I have their license plate frame on my car. There is an LQS in Leavenworth, WA that is an old house and EVERY room is crammed full of fabric with notions and tools in the kitchen. Even the bathroom has bathroom-themed novelty fabrics on a shelf for you to peruse while sitting there! I love those kinds of shops.
JANA - I know there are big doin's going on at your house. When you get time, we're eager for a report!
Since we stopped for a heavy lunch yesterday we never grilled our burgers last night - just not hungry. Not sure about today - it's downright cold this morning, but supposed to be almost 60 by grilling time. I have frozen spinach/cheese raviolis for a back-up plan.
How about you? Got a plan yet?
