Psalm 23

Probably one of the most well-known Psalms "Shepherds Psalm" is today's devotion. Most know parts of it by heart. We see this Psalm quoted and used often. But do we really understand its magnitude?

Like a shepherd, the Lord is our provision and protection. Apart from Him, there is nothing that we need or desire. He provides for us not only adequately but in abundance, like a shepherd who leads his flock to the pastures of green grass. When I go out to feed my goats and I head out into the pasture up to the gate to let them out into the larger field I turn and see that all the goats have their eyes upon me and are watching. The minute I open the gate here they come single file following me out into the field. They know that I would not lead them into any danger and that I am leading them to greener grass for them to feed on. They know I care and love them. Just like our LORD, He cares for us and leads us, but He also protects us when we go through times of need.

Walking daily in a trust relationship with the Lord is the source of blessings that overflow in abundance, We can be confident His mercy and goodness will go with us all the days of our life. He will never leave us or forsake us. Our eternal security is guaranteed. We will dwell with Him forever, not because of our own goodness and righteousness but because we are His sheep and our trust is in HIM.

Izzy One of my favorite Psalms that has got me thru many trials in my life.I have a book on this Psalm that is wonderful & makes it more meaningful & easy to understand.I have it on my wall in the dining room.May we ever be mindful of Gods goodness,love ,mercy & grace bestowed upon us.He is our Shepherd & guides us each day as we go on our journey of life. A shepherd constantly watches and cares for his flock. He knows each one and calls them by name. They know their Shepherd's voice. We chose to come to earth and live by faith. We know our Shepherd's voice , we are under His watchful eye and care. He knows us by name, and is aware of us and our situation. How blessed is that!
