SUPPER CLUB - Sat. March 11th

Good morning!

I woke up early this morning - 4:15 - and my back didn't want to stay in bed any longer. I even beat the purr-babies up, though they still beat me to their food dish. All they get is a teaspoon of wet food but you'd think they were starving alley cats and didn't have a big bowl of kitty kibble setting out at all times!

I finished quilting and binding my cat swap quilt yesterday (I did two sets of blocks so there is another quilt to go yet.) but everything that could go wrong, did. The result is a very sloppy, embarrassing job. But it will be good enough for picnics, the deck, or the trunk of the car at least. I hope I've worked out all my quilty bugs now that the Lone Star is ready to go on. But not sure that will happen today though as I am going to my semi-annual former co-worker luncheon in Tacoma and Bill is going 45 miles north to Renton to buy a set of tires he found on Craig's List. I wanted to ride along as my son, Mike, lives in Renton but Mike won't be home anyway, so I kept my lunch plans intact.

IRISH - sorry about the snow. I imagine by March it has lost it's lusterous appeal. (is lusterous a word?) Our news last night showed a robotics competition in Seattle. I couldn't help but think of your Nick and told Bill about him. Is he still interested in cooking? And just where are you going on Monday when you go 'out'? Please say it's something fun and relaxing and not for a root canal. Might I suggest a massage?

BECCA - I saw where you finished quilting Baby Girl's quilt and now you are on to bindings! Way to flash that needle! I'm assuming the babies are still all tucked up nice and warm. Have any name ideas drifted down to you yet? There are some interesting and unique names in your family (and I love them all!) and I can't wait to hear what the twins will be called.

JANA - only 10 more days! Has Kate heard yet about her audition? Sorry you caught the cleaning bug. It's a bugger! I got over mine quickly!

CHICKIE - how is your bucket baby? And please only tell me things you know I want to hear. . . No way to talk mom into taking it back? Poor little thing. Boy or girl?

Today, since I'll be going out to lunch and DH might grab a burger on the run, we probably won't be too hungry come supper time. I bought some sliced ham and put it with the leftover scalloped potatoes last night and there's STILL some left so we might share the last of that and a salad. Otherwise, it's going to be oatmeal here! and he vill love it . . .

What's for dinner at your house tonite?

Your ham and scalloped potatoes sounds so good. We had pork chops last night, so left overs tonight.
Keeping this short, as I am posting with my phone today.
Hugs and prayers all around.
Vel
PS did you post a picture of lone star?

Well good morning from The Old Cow. Yes, I’m a surrogate mama, and I love it! Little Miss Pocket Lint (for her color and tiny size) is a sweetie, and while she’s not out of the woods yet, I hope I can help her grow and survive. DS1 came over this morning early, and we made the decision to let mama cow have her strong twin, and I’d take the little one. Right now she’s over at DS’s because his shop is heated. I’ll be making the 3-4 trips over there (just a mile and a half) a day for feeding times. When it warms up again, we’ll bring her over here and make her a pen close to the house.

Tasha is coming next week for spring break, and she is going to be in heaven with dogs and a calf! By that time Miss PL will be here and stronger… at least that’s my positive mantra!

Because of all the calf drama yesterday afternoon/evening, we cancelled our dinner plans—now on for Friday, St. Paddy’s Day—and had a Lenten dinner here. Tonight will probably be the burgers, veggies, chips, cobbler… whatever I heat up before I go feed the little one.

DH will be home from coffee, and after that I’ll go feed the little one, go get groceries, go see Mom, back home for dinner, feed the baby… I might get to sew a bit inbetween… I had a slight touch of the cleaning bug and vacuumed the floors this morning… only because the floor was looking like a hairy blanket from the shedding dog hair. You’d think they should all be bald!

Becca—keeping watch with you and all the rest of us!

Mary—your scalloped potatoes and ham does sound good. I have ham and potatoes… might make it to the table tomorrow.

Have a great day! Bon appétit!

Good morning!

Aaron is wanting to play with the bbq - knowing this i bought a couple racks of ribs and had them ditched in the freezer. So since we are warm, heading toward 70, we will add a mac or potato salad with them.

Ethan is here, and Stu will bevusing my Solara yo gomlater tonight yo help breakdown the risers. He can't drive a stick yet, two reasons, his hand and i need to teach him. His parents have no patience in teachinng how to drive a clutch.

Kate found her drapes for the house and ordered them. It's coming!

Ethanism - he had Sarah's smart phone and called up Siri and asked her to call the fire department, he wanted a ride in the fire engine. Thank goodness Siri has blocks and didn't call. Just in case you don't know Siri, it is the voice recognition software on those smart phones and Siri will answer all questions.

Enjoy!
