SUPPER CLUB - Fri, March 10th

Good Morning!
We got wind. Nothing terrible or scary, but when you live amongst the tall trees, you notice. But for the moment - no rain!
Yesterday I got a lot of little things accoomplished in my sewing room - made binding and pot holders, found some items I'd lost (rulers and scissors), prepped Lone Star for the quilt frame, cleaned, and then got some quilting done on Cats. I'm halfway done with that! Then I moved my energies and my audio book to the kitchen and made some rice pudding, pork chops & scalloped potatoes, and asparagus. DH brought me a glass of wine at 4pm and we sat and watched the early news. A good day! Today - more work on cats. I could finish it today if my back will let me stand at that angle for that long, but that probably won't happen.
BECCA - I saw in sew-in that the twins are still hanging in there! Good news! Have fun with with the STW gang today!
CHICKIE - Your project is coming together nicely! About Vicki, yes, she has mental issues stemming from the effects that her Huntington's is having on her brain. Very sad. Her paranoia won't let her trust anyone to help her. She refuses visits from health care aides, meals on wheels, or any other source of assistance. Her DD stops by occasionally with groceries, (once every few weeks) but the older DD has had nothing to do with her for years. And she only lives 2 miles away. We keep an eye on her, but she doesn't want us walking across the grass to her door. As for the fur kids, yes, we've had about $700 in vet bills for Scottie over the past two years that we think, but can't prove, was from eating Vicki's garbage. The thing we can't figure out is what is in her TWO garbage cans she drags out to the road each week? We are two people and only have 1/2 can full each week. She is one person and throws much of her garbage into the yard. So, WHAT'S IN THOSE CANS?? I told Bill he should peek next trash day! lol! They could be empty or she could be tossing out her laundry, her dishes, household items, or every gift anyone has ever given her. Gasp! I made her a quilt about 5 years ago! I wonder where it is . . .
IRISH - your sister is a hoot! I have this visual of her in my head. There is a series of books by Anne George about two sisters in Texas, ages 60 and 65, and they are funny mysteries. And I picture those two sisters to be much like you and your sis. They are such SISTERS! You should check one out of your library if they have them and see for yourself. Sorry about the closet cleaning thing. We might do dresser drawers today, so be alert!
JANA - seems the kids have waited forever for this house! But now the 21st is only 11 days away. If they, and you, can hang on that long, I guess I can, too.
TINA - is this the start of your spring vacation? Summer isn't far away! Hang in there!
We have scalloped potatoes and rice pudding leftover from last night. I think I'm going to pop to the grocery store today and pick up some ham slices so I'll put that with the potatoes and press REHEAT. I also have more fresh asparagus or to switch it up, brussels sprouts. And as always, salad. But as soon as the leftovers are cleared out, I plan to make JANA'S chix cordon bleu casserole. Yum!
I hope whatever you eat tonite you can say the same thing - "YUM!"
