SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 3rd
Good Morning,
I was wide awake by 0330 this morning and see we're having quite a breezy night. My chimes are really dancing out there. Of course, the furbabies are all expecting to have breakfast served immediately but if I feed them this early they'll want their supper early, too. and they already con me into feeding them their 5pm dinner at 3:30!
Yesterday I made 8 blocks for the March lotto and have them ready for the mail. Today I'm going to prewash fabrics I brought home from Texas so I can get started on the Lone Star I promised our Texas friends. And I see that Tina posted the second International Sunbonnet Sue swap so I have myself signed up for that, too. Going to be a busy few months!
IRISH - When is your proposed trip to Ireland? It can take up to two months to get your passport after you have applied. Ours came sooner than that, but not all do. We have passport problems here, too. Bill seems to have lost his. We have turned the house and trailer both inside out and upside down looking for it. checked every pocket of every jacket he owns, all his shorts and jeans. Last time he used it was last March to go to Mexico for dental work. We've checked both vehicles thoroughly, too. Now we have to report it missing. So I wonder if he'll have any trouble getting a new one and if he will be flagged at the border now . . Is your house back together yet? You've never tasted an avocado? Oh, you've missed a real treat! They can have a bit of bacon flavor to them. Yum! Love hearing about the eagle babies! Thank you!
CAROL - did it feel good to be back in the classroom? Can you tell me how you make your Fast Hash? I think you did once, but I'd like to hear it again.
TINA - thank you for the avocado tip. And here's a tip I can share with you - when you know you're going to be doing a lot of physical stuff - like gardening, or heavy house cleaning - take Aleve or Ibuprofen BEFORE you start working. Works better that way and you won't be in such pain afterward.
BECCA - have you been able to get started on your little girl baby quilt yet? I know you've been busy plus not feeling well. How is your face feeling today?
I'm not sure about our supper yet. I'm thinking of doing chicken, sweet potatoes and zucchini on our new grill but weather right now isn't too inviting outside. We may end up with poached eggs and sliced tomatoes and avocado. Or our own version of fast hash.
Have you narrowed down your options yet?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 3rd
Good morning from a very cold, wintery, SW. Pa...We had a dusting of snow which hopefully will be gone soon..But, today it is cold, darn cold.....
Mary, the house is almost back to the way it was which was far from normal, lol....The floors are finished but he has to put the rubber strip round the bottom of the cabinets, he brought the wrong size...But, at 1 time yesterday, I had 3 very nice young men in my house, and none of them had on shorts but 2 wore tool belts, lol...The other fellow was our money guy and he always wears a tie...Boy, I wanted to really lock the doors and keep them all here...
I have heard horror stories about getting passports and really do have to get it done..It's just, being able to get out, which isn't always easy....And the trip is the last week of August and over Labor Day....
I just read in our paper, starting next Jan. anyone flying in Pa. will be required to have a passport instead of just the driver's license to get through security...I think Kathy has the same thing in Nevada and said, there were lines around the building with people applying...Not sure if it was a passport or just a special "super ID card"....
Tina, I think Mary not only gave you, but a bunch of us, good advice and I wish I had taken it yesterday...I ended up helping push things around and kind of paid for it last night..Hopefully, you're feeling as perky as ever....How's Frankie doing? And once again, I loved your picture on FB, very pretty......
Becca, thinking of you and wondering how you're doing...Hope your weather is better than our's. Although, right now, the sun is out but I think there might be snow showers not too far in the future...Did you tell us what design you were doing your twin quilts? You probably did but as Cincy often says, she has a brain like a sieve....Hope your day is good....
Chickie, you haven't gotten blown away have you? I haven't seen any cows come flying by so I'm hoping all is well in your neck of the woods....I was thinking of you yesterday while these guys were doing the floor...I have had carpet in every room and haven't had to "scrub" a floor in quite a long time and now I'll have 2...Oh well, I need to get on my knees every one in awhile, kill 2 birds with that one stone, so they say.....
Today, being cold, I'm not leaving the house and if I do, it better be a direct flight to Florida.....Jim has been antsy so hopefully, I can find something to keep him amused...Really not much going on which means I can (hopefully) hide in the sewing room....
As for our dinner, I do have left over real mac n cheese but not sure what to make with it...Maybe a grilled cheese...Or I was thinking of potato cakes (with the grated raw potatoes) and grilled cheese...Or, I do like Mary's idea poached eggs, always a favorite....So, as you can see, we won't go hungry...........
Happy eating................

Good morning!
Ready to head out and get my haircut - found a style i like, cut like Jacquelyn Smith, hope it works, even though i will never look that good!
Also need a run to Bed Bath and Beyond - i need one of those spinny cleaning brushes to reach in the deep dark areas of my shower and tub. With my bad knee and hip, makes it hard to reach the areas. It's ine of those as seen on tv gimmicks, so i hopevit works! Right now i have a make shift scrub brush on a long handle. If the new fandangled thing doesn't work, next up is a maid! LOL
Dinner - humm, we will eat, just don't have a clue - one of tbose days. It won't be long until ifbi get on a sewing binge, we can eat cereal! Tne kids are the main reason i need to cook.
Enjoy!

Good morning
Mary, I wish I could take ibuprofen or something but with my liver problems I'm not allowed to take anything but the RX they have me and I take it very sparingly. I'm sure if I could lose some of this darn weight I'd be better. ...I keep trying though. Thank you for thinking of me
Frankie is doing better but still is having headaches.
Irish, Thank you. ..I don't like posting pictures because I know how I look and I really don't like it but I was goofing around yesterday. ... it took a lot of shots before I picked an ok one. I'm very self conscious.
Jana, let me know how that brush works. ... I've been wondering
I think tonight is the red enchiladas. .. gotta go thaw some red sauce out.
Tina

Good windy afternoon! The Hooligans and I took a walk through the pastures and woods today since we weren’t on doggy duty today. The sun is shining, and it was beautiful.
Becca—your face pain sounds exactly what I went through. The doctors and ENT specialists gave up and gave me pain meds. The wind seems to always blow here. I always thought it was like this in Western Kansas, but it’s here, too.
Tina—those liver problems are troubling. Sure hope you get improvement! I hate taking selfies… so not flattering… ever.
Jana—new hair style! Enjoy! Good luck with the spin brush! When you get your tub/shower clean, spray it after each use with the Clean Shower spray or the homemade version I use. I seldom have to clean the shower—really saves knees!!!
Irish—I’m laughing! Men in tool belts … I really try to avoid scrubbing my floors on my knees… aaak!!! Sometimes it can’t be avoided, however. I still like them better than carpet… most of the time! I spent a lot more time on my knees with carpets! I love potato cakes with applesauce! You could turn your mac ‘n cheese into creamy cheesy pasta soup like I did last week and add some crispy toast on the side.
I think I’ve seen the passport/flying regulations. Crazy! If we go anywhere, I guess we’ll have to apply for them.
Hummmm… dinner tonight… DH has some steak left, so I’ll come up with something simple for my plate. I’m thinking I might do a soup—onion sounds good right now.
You can find me in my sewing room until I have to cook…
Bon appétit!

Home - it's cut and seems so short to me, but itbis still shoulder length.
An new Ethan-ism - he loves trains, what else in this family. We have a street car line called Trax - one of the lines runs out here near us, so we see those trains all the time. They are electric powered by using a overhead catenary wire system. The train uses a panograph to get the power from the wire to the train motors. It sticks up on the roof of the train and so Ethan calls the panograph, antlers on the train. Cracks up Grandpa big time! He also can't say signalman, which comes out sniggleman. Grandpa and great great grandpa's were both signalmen on the railroads.

Good Afternoon Everyone!
You are a busy group!
Maryz - I make my Fast Hash using ground turkey and Ore-Ida brand Potatoes O'Brien. I might add some halved cherry tomatoes if I have them. I only make enough for the meal so about 2 cups potatoes and 1 cup ground Turkey. (I already have ground turkey in the freezer cooked so I use that. As it turned out the teacher had forgotten I was coming and had a substitute, she was doing report cards. I helped her by grading the Math Placement tests for 6th grade. It is not the only thing that will determine their placement, but it does help to decide.
Chickie - It was good to be at the school. It is a very welcoming school. I took my TB test and signed the volunteer contract saying I would obey school rules.
Tonight for dinner I think we will have Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli.
Have a great day everyone!
Carol
