SUPPER CLUB - Wed, March 1st

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Mar 01, 2017 3:32 am

Good Morning!

Can you believe we're already into March of 2017?? Bill said he read someplace that we are supposed to have a cooler than usual spring, but also drier than usual. We'll see what happens.

Still puttering in my sewing room. Yesterday I started pulling fabrics for the March lotto. The block this month is Jacob's Ladder, a block I've always liked. In spring prints. A good project to get back in my sewing groove after being out of the sewing room for so long. Also, Bill loaded up a cat swap quilt for me on the LA, so I have that to work on. In preparation, I downloaded a few audio books on my i-pad so I can listen and sew for the next few days. But first - I have a massage appointment this morning! My back can't wait! I do some stretches and exercises like Chickie, and they really help. But nothing like a deep tissue massage to tell your back you love it!

CHICKIE - such good ideas! A fidget quilt could be wonderful. Also the color books because so many these days are adult oriented. We are going to have Jim so busy he'll have no time to wander! Does Boomer seem more relaxed and limber after his yoga the other day?

TINA - I sure hope you all get well soon at your house! My nephew (now 48) was a ring bearer in his aunt's wedding when he was 4. A full Catholic Mass so it was a long wedding. He took off his shoes and sox and played on the altar steps throughout the entire ceremony!

BECCA - sometimes when my fingers get sore from hand sewing I paint them with liquid bandage.

IRISH - did you ever get out to your haircuts yesterday? If/when you decide to try those hamburger buns, let me know what you think. Bill likes them just as rolls for supper and usually eats them like that and the burger as if it's a steak. He's a funny guy.

I had to stop here and confer with the "HOH" about supper. We've settled on Chili relleno casserole, since I we have some yummy chilies in the freezer (thank you, TINA!). I also have some Mexican Rice-a-Roni and refried beans. Oh - and salad. So I think we have it covered for another day! Whew!

How's the planning going at your house?

Good morning! The wind howled, and the hail fell. Our cell phone alerts went off 5 or 6 times for “take cover! Tornado!” last night. We just sat on the sofa with the dogs in our laps, and let it howl and blow. No tornadoes. We are all fine. The hail, fortunately, was only nickel size and didn’t last long. DH got the vehicles under the pole barn/machine shed just as it hit. We stayed up until after midnight to make sure it was all blown past us. It's at least 30 degrees cooler today than it was yesterday morning.

Oh, Boomer is so zen! He’s now on top of the pillows on our bed. He won’t be so zen when DH returns from coffee! Of course, he’s not on my pillows!

My friend’s dad loved the felt coloring posters—the ones that are printed with the black “velvet”, then he colored in the white places with markers. They were his favorites. We are on the fidget quilt.

Today I’m off to a dental appointment in Joplin. I’m stopping in Pittsburg and picking up my grandson to go with me. He’s not in school and not working… sigh!

I almost forgot... a DGS has a birthday tomorrow, so I need to make his cookie tomorrow morning and get it delivered. I'm also babysitting all the dogs for a couple of days. Always something happening here!

I’ll be there for the chiles relleños casserole! YUM!!! I’m thinking steak sandwiches here when I return tonight. We have leftover steak, and I think I’ll grill some onions and melt some cheese… I have some hoagie rolls. It will be easy when I return this evening. I won’t be very hungry. DGS and I are eating out after my appointment.

Bon appétit!

Good morning from a nasty, stormy, rainy, chilly, SW. Pa...Boy, we are getting hit this morning with rain, hail, thunder and of course, lightening.....There are times, it rains so hard I can't see across the street, which isn't good...I think there might be flood warnings but where are out is, we don't have to worry, just if it comes too fast, it might get into the basement...But, we're also lucky, nothing like what has hit in other states.....

Mary,I think I saw on the news, your area is to get rain today...And for sure I will be trying the buns, even if just to eat them as Bill does....We did get our hair cuts and it was purrrfect. I had told them, we needed both done at the same time because there was no way Jim would sit and wait until I was done. So, the gal next to me took care of Jim and it was great...We then went to Walmart for, what else, cat food and then the car just happened to pull into the Subway parking lot...I just love my little car!

Not sure how much I'm going to get accomplished today...I did have a call from the floor man and they'll be here bright and early tomorrow morning..And then had a call from the financial guy and he also wants to stop down tomorrow..I told him to wear old clothes and bring his tool belt...So, will be an exciting day here in the old household..But, today, means get what I can out of the bathroom and also get as much stuff out of the refrigerator so they can pull it out...AND I need to get to the bank to make a deposit and hopefully apply for that dreaded passport...When our money guy called, he said, I should be getting a check and would you believe, sitting on the porch was an overnight envelope with the check...And to my surprise, not just $1.98 but for $2.98 so I need to get that in the bank..I did tell him, just in case I wasn't here when he stops over, I'll send him a post card from Florida (that check is really tempting)....

Oh well, time to get something done even if it's wrong.....As for dinner, we'll probably be having grilled cheese and tomato soup...Still have a bite of subway left but being Ash Wednesday, no meat, darn.............

Happy eating...................

Good morning :)
Yummy chili rellenos Mary! Sounds like my kind of wedding with your nephew hehe. Frankie must not have had allergies like me, mine seems to be almost home with the allergy medicine but Frankie is still feeling bad :(
I think I missed where you're going when you get your passport Irish.
LOL Chickie, not your pillows ;)
Yesterday was horrible here with the wind and dust! My house looks like it hasn't been dusted in years! Ugh! Guess I'll get the vacuum out and see what the boys will let me get done.
Since its Ash Wednesday I think I'll either do chili rellenos or red cheese enchiladas :) either sounds good to me :)
