SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Feb 26th
Good Morning!
All of western WA seems to have snow this morning. That is all of Western WA above 300'. We are about 160' and are a wet as can be, with rain. Just plain old rain. Oh well, that's why we're called the Evergreen State. The rain keeps us a very verdant green.
Yesterday we drove to Cabela's in Oly to check out the standing camp stove/grill combo that Bill wants. It's pretty expensive so I suggested we think about it and check out other options before we buy. That wasn't the answer he was looking for so we had a very 'quiet' afternoon. haha! Women don't have the market cornered on the silent treatment. At least not at my house. So we'll be going back today, I think. Because he did research and it turns out, according to his reports back to me, that this is the 'best option for us'. haha! He sounds like a teenager trying to convince parents he needs a new whatever it is teen 'need' today. But we do have a big credit built up at Cabela's so it won't be too much out of pocket for us. And on the way, we can stop at Bernina and pick up "Stitch", who is now done with his spa treatment and ready to come home and get back to work.
We also might meet up with Bill's sis and her hubby as Olympia is halfway to their house house. Or I might get a quilt on the frame and get to work. Or I might bake some hamburger buns. I have Judi's recipe. and we'll be needing to grill something on this new stove to try it out, right?
IRISH - you had such a trying day yesterday and my heart aches for your heart. But it's good that more family got to see the reality of your life. You don't need to cope with this all by yourself. You've been doing a wonderful job caring for your guy, but maybe it's time to rally the troops and get a support structure in place. And pass that journal around for others to see. It will help them understand and perhaps know better how to help. If I'm ever in Jim's position, I so pray I have someone as good and loving as you to care for me!
BECCA - sounds like your day with your DGS and family was a winner! Such fun, the little ones. My favorite age - 2 to 5.
and now on to supper - I don't know. If we go back to Oly and get that grill, I know Bill is going to want to set it up and try it out. It's not exactly grilling weather at 40* and rainy, but we do have a covered deck and a heater so it's do-able. And if that's his plan, then I will make some buns and thaw some of my pre-made, frozen burgers. And maybe open a can of pork'n'beans. My back-up menu is spaghetti, I think. All my salad veggies are gone but I still have a lot of romaine, so that will work. Or we could stop at the store I suppose . .
Do you have a plan yet at your house?

Good morning!
Mary - you will love that Camp Chef. Sarah has one and we use it all the summer long for our outdoor kitchen for canning. We are getting one for my house as a back up in cases of emergency. We always need to eat! LOL
Dinner is coming part from California, special delivery, by my neighbor the airline captain. He was in our old home town yesterday and called me to see what he could bring hone here. When you're the captain, you get to bring what you want! So, i am baking a pork roast, to pull and he is bringing the mole sauce for enchiladas. Oh the joy in mudville!
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning
Irish, I do wish I were there so I could give you a hug! As I read your day I was gasping with worry. ... it was like a suspense novel! I'm glad it worked out better than a novel though! You are a strong, huge hearted lady my friend. I don't know how you do it, you amaze me. (((((Hugs)))))
Mary, it was so cool and windy here that the BBQ outside moved inside so I don't envy you outside today. It was a great day yesterday, good food and lots of visiting and translations LOL Maria's parents don't speak English so either she or her siblings translate:) it was fun day all around! Maria wants to have a Fall wedding but she doesn't want to be huge pregnant so the wedding will be Fall of 2018. ...I'm not real happy about waiting but the law
Frowns on shotgun weddings anymore here in the US.
I'm not sure what's for supper here yet. Maybe I can make it back when I decide.
Tina

Hello everyone, sunny but quite nippy today. After our 60s & 70s we really feel the difference. We had a lot of wind yesterday too.
Maryz Your day sounds like you may be riding or quilting.Sure you would love the new chef.I always love grilling &!it frees us up in the Kitchen too.
Irish I sure hope today is better with DGD & her fellow there.I too feel the family needs to know I have started telling mine more.I feel they need to know.Prayers that it's a much better day & Jim is more content.
Tina Your House must have been a happy place yesterday.Glad it was fun for all.
It's quite different today with just us 2. But think we can use the break.
We have plenty of leftovers.Happy eating to all.I may watch a ballgame. Becca

Good afternoon! I can’t keep track of whether I’m coming or going. I think I missed here yesterday. Never fear… we ate. I went for Chinese food for Mom and me for lunch, and I picked up some of DH’s favorite dishes as well. Last evening, I had the rest of mty soup and pot stickers, and DH had his spicy chicken and fried rice. There is still chicken and rice for tonight, so I’ll have to see what else I fix. I really should be thinking… Maybe I’ll just make some more rice and we can split the chicken… I have some broccoli to go with…
Mary—if my DH wanted to cook… he could have ALL the equipment he wanted at ANY price!!! Just sayin’… Sounds like he will be getting the grill/stove… yummy for you!!!
Irish—so sorry for the difficult day, but it also is good to have others know of the situation. You are such a role model and trooper!!! You need a tracking system for Jim… such a scary event!
Becca—your flowers reminded me of the neighbor boys who came to my house to get flowers for their mommies. I helped them pick bouquets with stems long enough for water in vases or glasses and sent them home. One little guy got in some trouble (she thought he picked them without permission), but I set her straight.
Tina—I laughed at your “shotgun wedding”… They could always “make it legal” now at the courthouse—just the two of them and have the big wedding next fall as planned…
Jana—lucky you!!! I’d have to have some sourdough bread and SF salami thrown in my care package! I’m liking the outdoor stove for canning… hummmmmm….
I’ve been doing laundry, and now I think I might go see if I can find my sewing room. It seems like forever since I got in there.
Bon appétit!
