SUPPER CLUB - Friday, February 17th
Good Morning,
My days are boringly the same this week - still working on getting resettled into the house - not only my sewing stuff but Christmas decorations (yes, we took some), Christmas clothes (took them, too), Christmas gifts (mostly goofy things from my goofy younger sister), and misc items we decided we don't need to carry any longer. Today I will mop the trailer floor, put the throw rugs back, and call it done. Except for trying to get Bill do finish HIS part. All he has to do is vacuum out the storage bin underneath, put the refreshed kitty litter box back, and wash the exterior of the trailer. I am too short to do any of that. Sometimes, being under 5 feet tall is a good thing!
CAROL without an e - there you are! If you are doing your bindings by hand, and have done 5 since the first of January, then you HAVE been busy! I'll be looking for your quilt pictures! Is the show juried? have fun!! and good luck!!
IRISH - you are right about Nextdoor Vicki, she isn't the person she was, loving and friendly. It must be sad to be her. And if her old self could see her new self, she would be so mortified. So we just keep trying to be good neighbors to her even if she can't be to us. I was heartened to see you report that The Eagles have started building a new home. Hope it's finished in time! So what flooring are you going to do? Did I miss that?
BECCA - I hope you have an easy, pleasant, blessing-filled day.
JANA - how did your demonstration go last night?
TINA - are you and Preston done playing in the dirt yet?
CHICKIE - what are you and the Hooligans up to today?
CAROLE (with e) - you are probably busy in your sewing room. You have a lot on your to-do list, I know. How is your friend, Darlene, doing?
Last night I made Panko chicken with a Dijon sauce, baked sweet potatoes, mixed frozen veggies and a salad. I really COOKED! and there's plenty left over so that's what tonite's menu will be, only changing to mashed potatoes or noodles (Bill's mood at cooking time will determine). And probably peas or green beans.
At some point we need to make a Costco run, too. It's only 3 country miles away from us so that's no biggie. The biggie part is having to clean up enough to go out in public after all our nitty gritty work we've been doing here. lol!
What's on your menu tonite?

Good morning! Yesterday was my mamo and bone density day. I got to spend the afternoon with my DD and DGD (after she got out of school for the day). DD and I had lunch—Chinese, then a trip to Salvation Army where I found three tops in my style, two pair of like brand new “booties”, and some t-shirts for DH for working around the farm… also almost new. It was a good trip! I picked up chicken innards for dinner…
Good news on the bone density… back is normal, hips have improved. I feel better about taking the tumbles when I’m hiking…
I tried to get here yesterday before I left town, but it didn’t happen… good intentions!
Odie went with me and enjoyed his day and getting to see Tasha.
Mary—speaking of “going out in public”… I had to wear yoga pants for bone density (no metal of any kind), and I wore a yoga shirt with a shelf bra… Full-figured gals should be banned from this attire. I prefer to wear it in the privacy of my own home!!! I took clothes and changed as soon as I could! I like my jeans and underwires!
I know what you mean about “she’s not the person you knew”. I had to remind my mom of that all the time with my aunt. Mom would get so worked up and embarrassed at my aunt’s comments and chasing married men while in the nursing home… It was so hard on Mom. I kept trying to tell her that she didn’t need to apologize for my aunt’s behavior that they saw it all the time and knew it wasn’t “the real” Auntie personality—that’s one of the reasons why she was where she was… So very sad and so much harder on family and friends…
Being short is nice for the low jobs… Tall is nice for the high jobs…
Back to finishing quilting the comfort quilt… then binding and mailing…
Chicken is on the menu tonight… I’ll think of something to add… rice or noodles? Broccoli… salad…
Bon appétit!

Good Morning Everyone!
Tonight I will be helping to hang quilts for the show and they will feed us pizza. I will not be cooking tonight.
Maryz - Yes, I have been very busy. This fifth quilt is hard to do with sore hands so it is slow going. The show is NOT juried and the guild gives ribbons in several categories, but it is a popularity contest more than anything. Our guild puts on a good show with many very talented quilters, so is usually well attended.
Today, think I will work on the binding and cleaning house. It is supposed to be raining very hard, but hasn't started here yet.
Have a great day everyone!
Carol

Good afternoon from a very sunny, temps are climbing, SW. Pa...We are in for a gorgeous weekend and we are so very grateful!
Mary, I think the hardest thing for me to do it change my clothes or even get dressed in the morning...Maybe that's why I don't like to go shopping, lol...I was just thinking, our Walmart has curb side service and I wonder if I'd order cat food if someone in a blue vest or jacket would stand at the cat food and study all the labels as I usually do..(They'd need a raise if they did)..But, at least I wouldn't have to change my clothes just to make a pick up.lol And boy did I understand about being built low to the ground and sinking...It was fine when the kids were all at home, the boys are all way over 6' tall but now! I practically have that step stool hooked on my belt...And the floors that are being done will be the kitchen and the main bathroom...And then who knows what I might start on next...Of course I haven't ruled out that special tub but 1 that costs a lot less...It really is neat to see and hear about the eagles rebuilding and even having time for a little hanky panky in the trees...They mate for life and their bonding just proves their loyalty...
Becca, I'm also hoping and praying for a quiet, super day in your neck of the woods...Hope your weather is going to be good like our's is up here...
Chickie, glad to hear the good news! Had you been taking anything to build up your bones? You do manage to take some tumbles, good bones is a plus...And sounds like a great haul at the thrift store. Have I ever mentioned that Jim's late DM used to call those stores, "Dead Man's" store? she said, well, when someone dies, that's where they take the clothes so....But, honestly, they are my favorite places to shop....It's very hard when being around someone "who isn't that person" any longer and not understand...I am constantly reminding myself, this isn't Jim, he doesn't know what he's saying or somethings doing but it's hard..Now if something happens, he'll say, "She" told me to do that...He doesn't really know who she is but I'm thinking she's the nasty one...But, life is interesting!
Seems like everyone is talking chicken but all I have is a can of chicken and not sure what I can do with that...The other day, I saw Trisha Yearwood (I think that's her name) make chicken and dumplings and have been anxious to give that a try..But, you know the routine, get changed, get in the car, go shopping...I'm sure I'll find something to throw on the stove, we sure won't go hungry.....
Happy eating..............

Good morning!
My class went well. I did run over my 15 minutes, but it was to answer lots of sewing questions. I might be teaching some sewing to the ladies of the Ward. The majority of women in the Ward are younger than me, with young families. They would like to sew for their children. I love to teach newbies to sew.
Dinner was a bust. Tried a new Taco Bell Chulpa- waaaaaay to spicy hot for me. I like some heat but this made my eyes water. Tonight is the family BD's party. The kids are off and gone until then with Gracie, so I will probably get out of cooking again tonight.
Michael is assembling his workbench in the garage, so I am nearby in case of accident.
Time to scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana
