SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Feb 16th
Good Morning!
We have no rain at the moment, but it will return. That's OK. I've had enough dry this winter to last me through spring! Speaking of spring, all my spring flowers are up, though not blooming yet. I really need some time to clean out the leaves and winter debris from the flowerbeds so they will show off to maximum effect.
SHIRLEY MAE - welcome! Nice that your DH cooks. Mine rarely does and I don't encourage him. When I had surgery once and he cooked, it didn't take me long to force myself back into the kitchen. He SAID that in his past life, his 'old wife' sat on a stool and read the newspaper aloud to him while he did the cooking. Every night. She must have had a stomach of steel. Or he poisoned her. It had to be one or the other! lol!
CAROLE with an E - Name tags is cheating! lol! We have 3 different people willing to take Scottie - my DS & BIL who already have one sheltie, our good friends in Oregon, and Autumn said if they fall through she'll take him but small yard, two full-time jobs, and 3 cats isn't the best home for a dog.
CHICKIE - your Doyal is full of surprises! What a thoughtful, loving gift!! He's passed another challenge on his quest! (I think that's what they say in those on-line fantasy games to get elevated to the next level, right?) I can picture your Hooligans in the backseat at the bank, alert and drooling. Maybe we should call them "Hoot-i-gans". lol! Because they are a hoot!
JANA - congrats on solving the engineering problem! Hope you got the credit that goes with such an achievement. Boy, your kids are certainly struggling with their house/builder. I hope, when it's all done and they move in, that it's a solid, quality home. That builder has me suspicious.
IRISH - I love what you did with your pig-shaped cutting board! lol!! Give them a laugh! Since my daughters have no interest (at this time. Still hoping!) in sewing, I told my quilty DDIL that all my stash and machines would go to her. We were standing in my sewing room at the time, and she just looked slowly around, eyes glittering, and let out a low 'woooooowwwww'. Then turned to me and asked how I was feeling . . .
BECCA - I sure feel for you and for your DH. Praying one day he improves and you can both have a better quality of life.
CAROL without an 'e' - where are you?? I hope you aren't wasting away to nothing!
Our neighbor lined up all her stuff again between our yards, but this time at least it's closer to the property line. I am trying to recall times and things she's said and done in the past few years that would indicate her break with reality just in case the kids ever have to go to court to try to save her house because of those mortgages that couple took out. Trying to prove incompetency after the fact might be pretty difficult. But we're willing to help if we can. Though our other friend who has had similar dealings with this couple says they are vindictive. That's not good . .
Tonite's supper - hmmm.... I think baked chicken and sweet potatoes and salad. I can make the salad ahead of time and top it with a damp paper towel to crisp it up, and simply pop everything else into the oven come suppertime. I'm a big fan of easy!
Are you cooking tonite?

Good Morning Everyone!
Maryz - No, not wasting away, just busy getting ready for our guild quilt show this weekend and finishing two charity quilts. I am now binding the second one, which makes the fifth quilt I have done binding since the first of the year. I have two quilts for the show and will post pictures of those after they are hanging at the show.
Tonight will be leftover Parmesan Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, vegetable and salad.
Today I need to do uglies, go to nail appointment and go to knitting.
Carol

Good morning from wintery, cold, SW. Pa...Just a little snow over night but enough to mess things up for those needing to be or go out...With us, we can stay in for days and days, lol...I figure, as long as we have cat food and potty paper and I have my fabric, let it snow....
Mary, I can relate to the problems you are having with your neighbor but, this isn't your neighbor, your old friend, any longer...It's really hard to believe or even try to understand what happens to the brain..Very, very frustrating, for sure...In our family, I have no one that is interested in sewing (sad face). I just hope whoever cleans out the house gives my stuff to someone who will appreciate it..At one time, Terry was going to make everyone a cutting board like the pig but then he said, it just wouldn't be right...The lawyer did tell me, his secretary had a good laugh when she was typing up the wills...I guess there not too many pigs mentioned in wills...
Becca, I also feel for you...From 1 day to the next, not knowing is terrible...many prayers for your DH and also for you, my friend...
My best to all, but can't stay and chat today...Finally the floor man is coming, doing laundry and have most uglies done...Jim ran the vacuum and it must have tired him out, he decided he needed to take a nap...Also, hopefully, I'll be able to sew all afternoon....Have all 42 blocks done and need to size them and get them sewed together...I will be so darn glad to get this thing done...
As for dinner, I'm thinking soup and sandwich, nothing fancy tonight and like Mary, I like easy too......
Happy eating..........
Eagle Update:
Our eagles have found another tree and are busy building their home..The tree is in the same area and hopefully a good sturdy one that will last for years. Won't know if she has layed any more eggs but there is always a chance there could be another clutch...Eagles mate through out the year but there are only certain times when the female can produce eggs...Just have to wait and see.....

Hello everyone,Sunny 50s today.
Maryz I have tv but do not watch it when I Quilt.I just think a lot & pray.Great time to ponder on things. And I pray for who is getting the quilt. Its relaxing to me.

Carol You have been busy with quilting. It can be time consuming but enjoyable.
Well we have 2 pieces of chicken leftover. Will add salad & baked potato.DH has a cherry pie I found for him. Becca
Thank you for the sweet thoughts & prayers. They carry us thru.

Good afternoon-
Spent the day in the Batt Cave working on my lesson on hemming for tonight. They wanted me to teach how to hem, mend knees in jeans, and how to use up scraps - all in 15 minutes! So I chose just one - hemming. I will give a background on thread and needles - then how to measure and last how to stitch the hem in place - that is a brief synopsis for tonight - hope that all goes well. I am not dragging my serger or sewing machine - just my sample pair of pants that I am hemming for a friend of Sarah's. Now after all these years, you would think that girl knew how to hem - nope! I had to struggle with how she measured up the hem! These are a pair of tuxedo pants, to boot! All is well now and I will have them finished tomorrow - after the demo.
No dinner here - well, at home, the kids are going out to eat and I am teaching, and Michael is going to Home Depot, so after I get home, the car will find it's way to something yummy, I hope!
Time to gather up things and get ready - find a presentable face in the jar! LOL
Enjoy,
Jana
