SUIPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Valentine's Day!
Good morning!
Happy Valentine's Day to you all! And a special wish to my hubby of 25 years today. (Insert colorful floating hearts here!) We will be spending the day still emptying and cleaning our trailer. After 2-1/2 months of close-quarters living, there is a LOT of stuff that comes out of a trailer! (and I admit, a huge part of that is sewing related!) lol! and of course, it all has to go someplace - which is the house. So we've merely moved the mess, but making progress. Laundry will continue today.
About our neighbor - Her Dd called us last night. The couple who had Vicki's POA used her house as collateral on two other mortgages. Vicki got in a fight with the woman and dissolved the POA. They were very nasty To Vicki's DD and forced her to come to their house in the middle of the night to pick up the keys and paperwork. I'm sure she didn't go alone! So that couple is out of the picture. DD, Megan, was always watching from sidelines and was waiting for this couple to do something unscrupulous. Now she is caring for her mother again. Before Vicki wouldn't allow Megan to do anything, as that couple had convinced her Megan wanted no part of Vicki. the property line thing is another issue but we can live with that - I think. Vicki saw the power company spray paint lines on the ground out on our road during some construction. In her mind those lines meant property lines and so she was trying to 'reclaim' her property, thinking we'd been trying to take it from her. This isn't Vicky, our friend of 32 yeas, but is a new personality who is very sick. and suspicion and paranoia are hallmark symptoms of her disease. But what a relief to us all that "Joe & Jodi" are now out of the picture! We weren't too happy picturing them as our next neighbors! We'd have had to lobby President Trump to loan us some of The Wall! lol!!
IRISH - I'm so sad about the eagle's nest! So now what? When a baby is due, it's coming whether you're at the hospital - or nest - or not!
BECCA - so sorry for your friend and her situation. At least the couple in Vicki's life never moved in. They just used her assets - for now. I hope you have a better day today.
JANA - I hope you had a nice birthday! We are watching the dam news reports closely. We sort of feel like we have a vested interest with your Daniel there. What is that? 3 degrees of separation?
VELDA - your Valentine dinner sounds delicious! Are you beading or sewing at your crafts gatherings?
CHICKIE - TOASTED ravvies?? Not boiled and sauced? Sounds good to me! Just how did you do that?
CAROLe - are you going to quilt your Jane by hand or machine? And did you decide how to quilt it? I hope Darlene feels better soon. I remember her and Joe and we both really liked both of them!
You asked how that couple came into Vicki's life. Vicki is a very talented Reike master and employs other alternative healing arts as well. it was amazing what she could do (though not anymore). Well, when taking classes years ago (she has 4-yr degree in this) she met this couple. Then they faded from her life. How they resurfaced suddenly, I have no idea. But cooincidentally, my massage therapist had this couple working on his DD who had been in a bad accident. They tried to pull the same stuff on him as they did on Vicki - alienate the family members and get their stuff. He saw through them and fired them but they were pretty nasty about it. My massage therapist also knows Vicki as they went to massage school together 20 years ago. He told me to warn her but of course, she wouldn't listen.
So, I guess dinner tonite will be whatever we opt for at the Mexican restaurant. we are meeting our friends at 3:30 since it's Valentine's Day. We expect a bit of a crowd. If all show we'll be six. But one guy might have jury duty so he and maybe his wife, might not show up.
I hope whatever shows up on your plate tonite is tasty! And after today - I'm giving you Valentine's Day, you see - the Ban goes back into effect. I'm sorry, but I just can't handle all those fishy dishies! Shudder!!
;o)

Re: SUIPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Valentine's Day!
Good Morning !
So the ban goes back on, you sound like President Trump! Wait...you are our leader!!!!
Okay, it is Mac and cheese for the time being!!!! Welcome home!!! Lol
Shhhhh Ladies, do you think we are fooling her when we say Mac and cheese???
Today we are off to the lawyer to update our will. It has taken me a couple of years to get DH to agree with this. Lol I want to add a couple of things.
For dinner tonight, I am thinking of chicken pot pies. Something quick and easy. I have a whole side of borders to quilt on a queen size quilt and have promised myself I would do one side a day until done. So I will be in the sewing room once we get home from the lawyers.
Mary, glad to hear those nasty people are gone and Vicky's daughter is back in the picture. Hope something can be done about those other mortgages that her house was used as collateral. What is wrong with people???
Not sure how Jane will be quilted yet. Thinking of an overall pattern, but I am not sure if I can do that. I have always done block by block. Went to hang her up in the line of quilts that need quilting and only found one more. ANOther civil war quilt that I forgot about. Did it last year with the group here. GRRRRR now I have two to figure out how to quilt. Both of them a small blocks. Oh my!!!! But the good news.. I only have two quilts left to quilt.
Well I better get some quilting done before we have to leave for the lawyers. HAppy Anniversary to Bill and Mary!! Love you both.
Carole with an e
Ps. Got a laugh at church on Sunday and have to share. We have a new associate Pastor and went I went up for Communion he said" Body of Christ for you, Carol Lee
Brought a smile to my face. GUess he doesn't realize Carol can
be Carol with an e!!!
Lol

Re: SUIPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Valentine's Day!
Good morning!
Mary - so happy to read that the DD has stepped back in and that things may get back to a normal, for that situation. Happy 25th! Hope that there are many more happy times!
Carole - with the E - at least he remembered part of the name right! LOL My name is constantly changed by computers. In fact, I would get jury duty notices to a Jo A, and I sent them back that there was no such person! My given name is Jo Ann, Jana is my nickname that I have been called since I was a very little girl.
Thank you for all the BD wishes. We did have a good time yesterday. First present was that the dam held and the water level had receded. Daniel got to go home, sort of, he is at the inlaws where Kari and Karlie are staying. He is leaving them there for awhile as the danger still exsists, and with him having to leave at a moments notice, that would leave Kari on her own to get out of the danger zone. He is a smart cookie and has a proud mama here! there is another storm coming in later this week and could raise the water level again and set the whole scenario again in motion.
We ate dinner out at a very banned restuarant and it was yummy - I have now had my fix of my favorite banned food, so I will be good.
On Friday, the family is getting together to celebrate all the February birthdays - Baden, he turns one on the 17th, Gracie turns two on the same day, the 17th, Sarah and Me on the 13th and Sarah's DH is the 21st. We are now done with more than half the birthdays in the family, just in the first 6 weeks of the year! Next one is Kate's, the end of May.
A couple of dishes are cooking in my brain - one that Kate found for a crispy garlic chicken with zucchini. I think that is what we will cook for tonight.
I just filed my taxes for the year - yeah! They are now done and out of my hair. First time in many years that I don't owe s little bit more than was withheld. I try to figure everything very close, but rates were changed. Humm, I might be able to neogiate some cotton out of it!
Well, this is a nice long book,
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUIPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Valentine's Day!
Good afternoon from a very sunny but still chilly, SW. Pa...I had gone out to sweep and clean off the back porch and yep, it's chilly....
Oh Mary, sounds like things might get back to normal after all...This really is a special day for you, not sure who's the luckier one, you or Bill. But what a purrrrfect fit! And did I see where he said, he met you at the Eagles?? Now that's really purrrrfect....
So glad to hear Vicky's DD has stepped in...I honestly don't understand how people can do some of the things they do..I also think one of the lowest things that can be done is taking advantage of older people..Just makes my BP jump up a few points...
Jana, sorry I missed your birthday but feel free to celebrate the whole month..And with that bunch of your's, you do celebrate, don't you? What a blessing...And prayers have been answered regarding that dam...I talked to Kathy last night and she was even worried, way down in Reno...She also said, she wouldn't have needed anyone telling her to evacuate, she'd have been long gone...
Becca, I hope today is much better than yesterday...Hopefully the sun is shining down there and that seems to make everything just a bit better, I know it does for me....
Carole (with an e), funny about you and the priest..I always remember, Jim's dad telling us, he had gone to confession and after he was done, the Priest asked him how his sister, Maggie, was doing...So much for secrecy, lol...And you know, Mary is like our mothers used to be, eyes in the back of their heads and ears that heard everything. So I doubt you can pull the "banned dinner" over on her...And, I also think she could give Trump a run for his money (well maybe not the money part) but she'd make a very good president....When can we start the next campaign???
Not much happening in this household today...I'm still feeling down in the dumps but the sun is helping..It was just such a shock, seeing that tree go down and then so sad to see the eagles circling, looking for their home and their egg...But, eagles are survivors and they will be back...Spotters have seen the male carrying twigs and grass, so maybe he's trying to build...
Yesterday, I took Jim for a little ride and then we ended up at our neighbor's to deliver his birthday card...It was only a little after 3:00 and they were sitting down for dinner...Of course, Donna, gets out dishes and we sat and ate chili with them...Oh my was it good...And better yet, I didn't have to cook....She laughed when I asked her what she was having today.....
But, since we didn't get a call, I raided the freezer...Found a piece of ham and threw in some potatoes and cabbage and usually, cabbage doesn't smell too good while cooking but this does smell delish....
Do have ice cream sandwiches and cookies for afters.....Tomorrow is Jim's birthday so I'll be baking him something special in the morning.....
Happy eating...........
