Good Morning!
We had an awesome day with Autumn and we hated to leave last night. But she was yawning by 8pm (so was I!) so we finally called it a winter and we got back to our trailer about 9:30. Slept so well we overslept! Even the 'kids' slept until 6am. We are pretty well packed but there is still plenty to keep us busy until about 8:30. One last good-bye and we'll be on the road!
IRISH - I'd be excited if Jim asked, "Let's go to -----", too! Even if it was McDonalds. Though next time maybe we can talk him into Subway . . . . You could turn the heat up in your house and get out your shorts! An tape of beach sounds would be a good addition, too. commpany again! Never ends at your house, does it? Know you will enjoy them all. Is Terry still looking for a job closer to you?
BECCA - I'd love if you cyber-sent me some of those cookies (if you maybe made them). Cyber calories don't count, do they?
CHICKIE - a day in, sewing! What a gift! I never heard that about peroxide. Do you mean the same stuff for bleaching hair? A good tip to know! How are the plates coming along?
CAROL - if you are making a baby sweater, I'd call you more than a beginner of any kind! I've tried, but can't even make the washcloths. And I do love knitted washcloths. I can crochet a little and have made a few washcloths for myself but the knitted ones are much better.
The Intstant Pot review - dinner was REALLY good! I'm not sure, however, that we wouldn't have gotten similar results in a slow cooker or using the oven. We made a recipe we found on line called Chicken Roma. The only prep work was dicing onion and cutting up chicken breasts. We sauteed them with garlic in the Instantpot, added the rest of ingredients, set controls, and let it do it's thing for 10 min. Then it moved itself to Keep Warm mode for 10 min. We released the steam and dinner was ready. We served it over fresh angel hair pasta and it was a unanimous hit. The chicken was very tender and it all tasted awesome. Autumn says she is anxious to try making yogurt in it. So I think she likes it!
Tonite's supper will be in an RV park in Ft Stockton. The park we stay in has a little cafe where cooking is done by mom and serving is by the kids. We often eat there when we travel through, and there are usually only five choices on the menu, varying some each day of the week. But we have leftover pork tenderloin and rolls, and bean and broccoli salads, so I think we'll 'eat in' tonite.
Hope your supper is quick and easy
I will be here only hit and miss until we get home. It's 2,500 miles and we plan to make easy days and stay extra days in some places, so it will take us 2 to 2-3 weeks. Though once Bill smells the barn, he tends put the pedal down, so who knows how long it will be. maybe only 8 days! I just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I have been missing in action, but Jane and I have been working so hard. Only have7 more triangles to go and she will be ready to go in the quilting line up. Have a few before her to quilt. Lol. I am also working on some appliqué for a monthly wall hanging. Want to get them ready to sew when I go to my large quilting group.
DH just came in and is ready to go shopping at Joann's. It is a Joann's I am not too sure how to get there. Hmmm better watch this time.
Tonight DH is make dinner with a new recipe he found. A shrimp dish. Have to get it in before Mary puts the ban back on. Lol
Mary and Bill, safe travels. Getting home is great after a long trip,
Becca , Chocolate pie!!!! my DH would be in heaven with that. HE is a guy who has to have a sweet every night. Not me, I am always on a diet.
Better run!

Good afternoon from cold, semi sunny, SW. Pa...We did have a dusting of that white stuff over night but thank goodness Mr. sun has taken care of it and didn't expect me to use the broom.....
Mary, there's just something about beach music, shorts and white stuff swirling around in the air that doesn't seem right....That new cooker sounds a lot like cooking in my pressure cooker which I love and would not attempt to cook if I didn't have it....The kids say, my swiss steak made is to die for, well, it's pretty darn good....It does seem like we have company coming and going a lot doesn't it? But, you know when you have a big family which keeps getting bigger, that happens...AND, yes, Terry is hoping for a job closer to us and in fact, he does have an interview next Thursday...And then he told me, he's going to be offered a pretty nice position where he works, which really has him thinking....But, I'm sure he'll make the right decision...........Hope to hear from you on your travels, give Tina a big hug and be safe.......
Becca, That Olive Garden soup sounds good..Any time I go there, I always get the Wedding soup and haven't tried anything else, darn....Our little ride the other day was good, just enough and McDonald's was the usual, McDonald's..(I do like their mcnuggets dipped in ranch dressing)...Sorry to hear you're back on antibiotics but maybe you'll get a hold on that infection before it gets worse.....
Chickie, was thinking of you when I turned on the computer...I have Bing as my page and today's picture is of a huge rooster, gorgeous thing and of course it made me think of you.....Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.....
Carole, (with an e), it sounds like you have been very busy...So you have a quilting line up, sounds familiar, lol...Someday, we all might see the bottom of that pile....And having DH make dinner and better yet, a shrimp dish, it really is good to be you....I do have to admit, I love shrimp and will also have to have some before the ban is put back in place.....Let me know about your dish......
Today is an "ugly" day and a little laundry....Haven't heard from the kids yet so don't know who or how many are coming...And, still don't know where breakfast might be tomorrow..We keep telling Dan since he got this new, robotic 3D pancake maker, he's in charge...Kids and their toys!
As for our dinner, I'm hoping or thinking maybe pizza...Always quick and easy if you have a house full...And, I am baking pies so we'll have plenty of goodies.......
Happy eating.................

Becca..... Is the soup "Zuppa Tuscana"? Rod found a recipe for it and he makes it all the time......so delicious. I love kale so add lots of that right towards end so doesn't cook to pcs but everyone likes it when he makes it.
They also make minestrone, and fagiola. I cheated, I googled that part to see what they were called. My old age and memory just aren't the best somedays. LOL Any of these sound familiar.
Sorry to hear you ae having so many problems with sinuses etc. I had one last yr that went into a horrific ear infection too and took 2 months to get over mine. Prayers for you that it will abate quickly. Your choc pie sounds wonderful....Rod would be right over.
Rod made mac and cheese last night.....yummy. Made it in our new Toaster oven that also has a convection oven, rotisserie, and broiler all in one. Love it and so fun to play. Rod also made pork chops under the broiler too....so tender and good.
Our aptmt oven is awful, doesn't heat at right temp and just trouble all the time. Sooooo, we opted for the toaster oven combo. Love the convection oven. Rod's latest kitchen gadget to play with. As long as I don't have to cook and it keeps us fed and him happy, I am happy too. LOL
Maryz....May God bless you with safe and happy travels. Thanks for all the supper suggestions from you and the other ladies. Making my life a little easier....just pass word to hubby and he runs with any ideas.
Thanks ladies for info on new gadgets too, Rod is always wanted the latest and greatest cooking thing. Nice to be able to give him some actual people reviews before he runs out to buy something.
Irish.....I like to eat out once in awhile but sometimes it is just sampling our way thru Costco and then stop for a hot dog on way out door. Other day, I skipped the hot dog and had their strawberry sundae instead. Grabbed some extra spoons so had help eating it too.
Carole.....I remember seeing those awesome Jane blocks when I was at your house a few yrs ago. Can't wait to see a pic of the finished quilt. So much work and details but you had such a huge stack all done up and waiting for inspection by folks like me that visited. You had so many pretty quilts done too that you showed Teresa and I that day. Thanks for the memories. Which JOann's were you going to? When I lived there, my DD3 and I used to shop at one a lot.
Chickie.....thanks for info on peroxide. But ladies, be careful what you put it on. Great on whites but it can bleach out colors. I used it on a carpet. Looked great, bright white and all clean on a dirty spot. Unfortunately, carpet is tan. LOL I am sure my cats will have that white spot back to "tan" in no time with muddy feet. Peroxide will "eat up" food on things too and takes blood out very nicely.
Beautiful day here, sun out, says 45* but feels so much nicer and no wind. Supposed to cool down later and chance of snow or whatever in area. Feels like spring, I took my sandwich and chips outside and ate it out there at noon.
God bless you all, whatever you have for supper. May be left over mac and cheese and some kind of meat or water type critters. Who knows what and I shall not mention what I really want since Maryz might be reading this.
Hugs and love to all, Shirley Mae Happy cooking and/or traveling

Good afternoon/evening! I had a nice day visiting with Mom and having lunch with her. We had our semi-usual Braum’s chicken walnut cranberry salads.
Tonight, I’m fixing tortellini and chicken Alfredo. DH has a vanilla crème cake for dessert. I’m adding a big artichoke with my tortellini.
Since this is Chinese New Year, I’d rather be having egg foo yung or something wonderful, but there’s no good Chinese locally except at noon.
Millie returned to the corral last evening… cost me 55 yards of fabric or almost 200 fat quarters… Sigh! It could have been (much) worse.
Yes, hydrogen peroxide. I keep bottles of it handy and use it when the dogs need a skunk bath (peroxide, baking soda and a little Dawn dish soap)—works much better than tomato juice or vinegar. I also make a shower spray using peroxide, alcohol (rubbing, not drinking), Jet Dry, a tsp of Dawn and water. It’s the BEST daily shower scrub-free and cheaper than the purchased brands.
I still may have to look at the Instant pot some more. My Kitchen Kettle that I use all the time needs replaced because the Teflon is wearing off.
Shirley Mae—I’ve never used a convection oven. Maybe next time I need to replace the microwave, I’ll get a combo. I have a toaster oven (no toaster).
Irish—Hear DH and I crow! This is our year on the Chinese Zodiac!
I’m making dinner now, and need to get back to it… Bon appétit!

Good Evening Everyone!
Tonight will be Fast Hash, salad, green beans and Garlic bread.
I went to a couple of Estate Sales this morning with friends then home for lunch and out to knitting group this afternoon. There is a very sad story with this shop. The owner was killed in an auto accident Dec 30th, and the teacher of the knitting group was so distraught that she became ill. Right now she is in the hospital. So if you think of it pray for Edna. She is 80 years old and not doing well.
Maryz - Drive carefully and hopefully these first few days are without storms. We are expecting another storm on Wed-Thursday.
Becca - I am so sorry to hear you are sick. Please take care.
Carole - I hope to get back to Dear Jane blocks soon. I have only made a couple.
Irish - Hope Terry makes the right decision too! (Near you!!)
Chickie - Your dinner sounds really good to me.
Shirley Mae - We all are very careful when we have Mac n'Cheese in our posts, because Maryz reads them all!
Have a great night everyone!
Carol
